Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is situated in a large, converted house next to Christ’s Hospital School in the heart of Lincoln. The nursery benefits from ample parking and is popular with parents working in Lincoln.

The Wragby Road nursery has been fully refurbished and has cosy rooms with smaller groups of children. The setting offers several garden areas with plenty of opportunity for children to learn through play in a variety of learning environments.

The nursery's early years setting is managed by highly skilled early years teachers who have expert knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The nursery team are passionate about offering exciting learning opportunities and children leave nursery confident and ready for school.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year, and we recently moved up to a new room. Each time she experiences a big transition like this, the staff communicate well, making the process smooth and reassuring.
The staff are absolutely lovely - I feel completely comfortable leaving her
in their care. She learns so much, and there are plenty of engaging activities to keep her busy and happy. She knows all the staff from all the rooms, and they always are happy to see her. The food is varied; she tries lots of different things, and the staff are great at catching you up with you at the end of the day.

Our little boy has recently started at Children's 1st Wragby Road and they have been brilliant. They have worked so hard to help him settle in, they do lots of different activities each day and there is a focus on outdoors play which is great.
The staff are all so wonderful with our little one and
with us. Our little boy has grown so much in confidence and developed in lots of areas in the short time he has been at nursery. I would recommend Children's 1st to everyone.

My son has been attending this nursery since October and I cannot express the appreciation I have for all the staff here. The communication, from day one, has been exceptional and the caring, friendly approach from all staff has made his transition into the setting incredibly smooth. The staff here
go above and beyond what we have experienced in other settings, they are all very polite and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It is lovely that the management team here are approachable and visible and there is always a friendly face in the mornings to greet us. There is a real sense of community here where the staff are valued and celebrated - you can tell they love what they do. My son enjoys going to nursery and I can tell that the staff working with him know him well. Handovers are always detailed and the activities offered and varied and enjoyable. We have nothing but positive things to say about this lovely nursery and I highly recommend them!

I would like to express my disappointment on registration fee! £105 for registration to receive a place, diary and backpack is far too much! I would understand if this £30/40 - but it should also be deducted from the first months invoice. We shouldn't have to pay a fee of £105 for really a diary and
backpack. Highly recommend changing this as because of this fee, we also had to pay a month in hand which is very costly for struggling parents. Registration fee should be deducted at first invoice and I would understand a charge for diary/backpack of example £20/30 but not £105!
Also not a lot of toys in baby room to play with.
But a massive praise for one staff member in particular. We love her.

Amazing nursery, my child has been there for a few months now and I've never had any issues, he's always very happy at the nursery and I'm 100% confident he receives the best care and they are always helping him learn new things and keeping him occupied as he's a very active child.

Since my son has attended this nursery, we have had nothing but a positive experience. He has excelled and seems to love coming here and has lovely friendships. My son is 2 yrs old. I put him in the nursery with lots of confused feelings as it's a new place with new faces, new language and new habits. I had to start my job and so I had to take this decision but to my surprise he has got along so well. He is learning things and doing well in many activities.
I am very happy with Children 1st as they are taking good care of him and he has adapted to new things all because of the care and learning he is getting there. Thank you!

All staff members are very friendly, our little one clearly has created an attachment with his carers.
Admin staff are on point. Always call when there's even the most minute accident. I once forgot my fob key and because the member of staff did not recognize me, they had to check with my little one
assigned carer in the classroom and get their ok to let me in, which made me very happy that they followed procedure to the T. Also, the meals our boy has been having every day actually make me jealous.
5 stars all around in my opinion.

Childrens 1st is a wonderful nursery. My little boy has settled so well and loves his time there. All staff are very welcoming, polite and friendly. Children 1st on Wragby Road have been a huge part of our lives since my first little girl attended. The staff have all become part of our family. My first started back in 2019, I was a first-time mummy and handing her over to the team was painstaking but I knew she was in safe hands. Fast forward to
her leaving and joining school, the staff in each room nourished her mind and helped her grow into the independent little girl she is today. Along came my second in 2020. She joined the nursery earlier than expected in 2021 as I had to go back to work earlier than usual due to COVID and the reduced staff in the pharmacy. But she thrived. With the nursery staff's help, we have overcome the difficult behaviour, the biting (which was incredibly hard to overcome!) And just the general toddler/threenager stage. And it's been hard work! But with their support and advice, we're over that hump and progressing towards her starting school.
I can't express how thankful we truly are.

My daughter is getting more confident thanks to the staff at nursery and she’s coming out of her shell more. She always seems to have a good time there. The only thing I can say is that if my child has a spare jumper in the bag, can you please put it on her as it’s not warm enough just to be in a T-shirt.

Lovely nursery. The staff are always really friendly. My child has been going since he was 1 and is now in the 2-3 year old room. He is a naturally shy boy but has grown in confidence with the help of the wonderful staff there. The activities are varied and based around play, which was really important
to us as parents. We also love that they spend a lot of time outside. We get given verbal handovers at pick up as well as a diary, which is really helpful. We also get regular updates on the app where photos and development reviews are uploaded. The staff work hard to get to know the children and families and always have time to answer any questions. The flexible contracts offered here are really convenient for families that need different days each week. I would (and have) recommend this nursery.

Hello, my name is Joanna Parker and I joined Children 1st in 2018. I completed my NNEB and have worked in various roles within nurseries, working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager.


I’m particularly proud of achieving my Foundation Degree in Early Years through the Open University while working, which gave me a Level 5 qualification.


I really enjoy working with families — from welcoming them on their very first visit to seeing them begin their nursery journey with us. I love organising family events and creating opportunities for them to be part of nursery life.


I feel very passionate about making sure every family feels included in our setting and knows they can turn to us for support whenever they need it. I’m also proud to work alongside an amazing team who go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality learning and care for every child. Supporting my team and helping each member reach their full potential is something I value highly in my role.
