I am extremely happy with the service provided. The staff are friendly and my son speaks fondly of his days there. I am kept up to date with his progress and activities and he often brings pictures home which is lovely. I feel this nursery is exceptional, I have looked at others in Lincoln and none
live up to the standard of Children 1st @ Wragby Road.

Both of my daughters attend Children 1st @ Wragby Road. They both absolutely love their days in nursery. When I leave them with the staff there, I feel like I am leaving them with family. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, they will always make time to discuss any problems/concerns that I
have and equally, to support in developmental steps. My girls know all of the staff in their rooms and feel totally comfortable with them. The management team is amazing, they are always on the ball and always been able to accommodate any last minute requirements for extra childcare. We have been attending nursery for 2.5 years now and just can't recommend it enough.

My son joined after spending 2 years at a different nursery. The staff were so accommodating with him settling in and making sure he felt secure within the new setting. All the staff are friendly and will help with any questions/concerns that I raised.
My son comes home with stories of what he has
been doing and looks forward to returning the next day.
The app they use is a great way of interacting with my son's learning journey. It’s great that I can add skills he’s learning at home to give an all-round picture of his development.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son settled in very quickly and enjoys going to nursery. They have been very accommodating to our needs with drop off times and try to help if we need extra days or need to change a session.
He has improved significantly with physical abilities and talking since starting nursery.
I feel fully
confident in the staff and his wellbeing whilst in their care.
I have recommended this nursery to other mums, whose children now attend.

I'm generally very pleased how much my son has developed and reassured that he is definitely ready for school in September. Teachers in my son's class are lovely and get on extremely well with his keyworker and sad to leave her due to her going into a new class - all is well.

Our son has been at nursery for the last 8 months. In this period, we have seen a lot of change in him and his milestones have come on in quick time. A lot of credit for this would have to go to the nursery and the staff who have been amazing. We would have to say that every single member of staff has
been so very supportive and sweet.

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds at the nursery. She knows she is safe and cared for therefore settles well, eats well and sleeps well (for her). There are lots of engaging activities for her to enjoy throughout the day and I feel confident and safe in the knowledge that she is there whilst
I'm at work.

Children 1st @ Wragby Road has been more than helpful as a family- with our situation financially changing over the past year they have always been fully supportive and never moaned about any changes. Staff are always really informative to what my daughter has been doing at school. I would definitely
recommend this nursery to other people and can't thank them enough for making our journey easier.

My son has been in this nursery for just over a year and I can't believe how far he has come. Staff are brilliant, professional, caring and always with a smile on their faces. They have been very supportive of my son especially when he was potty training. He has become a very confident boy who knows
his numbers, loves reading and singing. I can't thank the staff here enough.

My daughter has been at this wonderful nursery since she was 8 months old.
Her progression over the last 7 months has been amazing and her interaction with the staff and other children has been crucial to her development.

The staff are incredibly professional yet approachable and friendly in demeanour

and nothing is too much for them. The nursery is flexible with timings and very accommodating to our requirements.

My daughter has become a very happy and expressive girl and loves going to nursery. She was allocated a key worker when she started and she is fantastic however all of the staff take an active interest in her social and general life and make us all feel very welcome.

I have already recommended a friend to join the nursery and will continue to do so. We will be very sad when our daughter has to leave for school!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.957)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.957) out of 10 for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.957 for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (544 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 564 Ratings = 4.957
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 98 number of registered child places is 19.6, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Joanna Parker

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, my name is Joanna Parker and I joined Children 1st in 2018. I completed my NNEB and have worked in various roles within nurseries, working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager.

I’m particularly proud of achieving my Foundation Degree in Early Years through the Open University while working, which gave me a Level 5 qualification.

I really enjoy working with families — from welcoming them on their very first visit to seeing them begin their nursery journey with us. I love organising family events and creating opportunities for them to be part of nursery life.

I feel very passionate about making sure every family feels included in our setting and knows they can turn to us for support whenever they need it. I’m also proud to work alongside an amazing team who go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality learning and care for every child. Supporting my team and helping each member reach their full potential is something I value highly in my role.
