Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School (Thurmaston)

Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School is such an amazing nursery! The staff are all so friendly and cheerful and genuinely care about our children. I love the fact that they always go that little bit extra. They do things around the community to help bring some joy to others, through the children. Both of my boys go there and they both settled in really quickly and easily and are always happy to go there. Thank you to you all for all your hard work and dedication!

We were recommended this nursery by few parents and when we went to visit (while pregnant) we knew this was the right nursery for our child. We have been extremely pleased with the nursery and always recommend it, to new parents. Our child loves going to nursery and the staff look after her very well. The staff are always happy and willing to help.

In the past year they have also excelled themselves in uncertain times as well. A fantastic nursery.

It’s hard to know where to start when reviewing this nursery. Put simply, it’s amazing. We stumbled on it when our previous one closed with no notice during the pandemic and we urgently needed an alternative. From the minute we got in touch to see if they could offer us a place, they’ve been brilliant. The luckiest change in the world! My daughter (then 3, now 4) is thriving in their care. And boy do they care! The staff are really focused on my little girl’s needs and encourage her individuality. We get great communications in person at drop off/pick up and through the app. The trips they go on and the things they help the children experience are fantastic. The nursery feels very much part of the local community - from taking the children to sing to care home residents through the window at the height of pandemic, to chatting to shop owners on the way to the nearby park. I can't thank all the staff enough for what they do. They’re brilliant!

Not sure where to begin with Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School. My son attended here for preschool and absolutely loved it, he was always out, either at forest school or going to local parks, even temples during Diwali. He was so happy at this setting. Now my very clingy daughter attends and has settled in so well, she talks about it all the time, especially collecting eggs from chickens to make omelettes last week. It is such a fun-filled setting, so happy both my children were able to attend.

Changing nursery to Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School was the best decision we made for our sons with special education needs. Thank you Charnwood, you do an amazing job.

The best decision we made hands down, the staff are just amazing, loving and caring to all the children. I'm always relaxed once the kids have been dropped off there as they just take care of the all kids like they are their own.

This is a phenomenal nursery! I cried tears of joy when I visited before enrolling my firstborn, as I knew in my heart that the team would nurture and support her better than I could do myself, and I don’t say that lightly! Apart from this team, there is no one who can cater for my 4-year-old and 12-month-old children’s needs better than myself and my husband. My daughter has been thriving here for over 3 years, and my son for 2 weeks. In his case, I am gob-smacked by the measures the nursery have put in place to adapt their policies in order to support a generation of anti-social lockdown babies. My son has only seen a handful of people in the flesh in his lifetime, and like most lockdown babies, he’s missed out on baby sensory/playgroups. The thought of leaving him at the nursery after only 1 hour of socially distanced settling in, terrified me. Recently, Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School intuitively changed their policy to allow multiple short settling-in sessions with an accompanying parent, which I am grateful for.

The best nursery around! From the first day I visited the nursery, I knew my daughter would love it, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, they can’t do enough for you. I feel relaxed that my daughter is being looked after so well. Her key worker is amazing and keeps me up to date with everything she does throughout the day, they do so many fun activities with the children. Most importantly my daughter loves going. I would and have recommended this nursery to other people. Overall amazing!

My son has been going here for a few months now. We are so impressed with how much he has developed since joining the nursery. The staff have gone above and beyond to help him settle. They are always taking the kids out. They really make an effort to learn the kids' interests and include them in their play and activities at the nursery. Management are also really helpful and flexible. Dropping off and picking up is really easy and smooth. The interaction between staff and parents is great and I feel reassured with all the pictures and wow moment updates.

Great nursery with lovely staff who are friendly, welcoming and supportive. They truly take time to understand each child better and try to incorporate their interest into activities. My little one loves exploring the forest, trips to the park and seeing the chickens on site! There's always something different happening each day to keep the children entertained but some days my little one just needs cuddles and knowing how patient the staff are with her, puts my mind at ease. It's great to see her happy and coming home with a smile.

Sending my son to Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The staff genuinely care about the well being of my son (one time, my son was ill and unable to go to the nursery and his key worker called me everyday to find out how he was). They also do a variety of activities and teach so many life skills to the children. My son is thriving at the nursery. I would highly recommend it.

I cannot say enough positive things about this nursery, my daughter loves going and it's lovely to see her so happy and settled. Her speech has also developed so much in the time that she has been here. I also love the fact that they go on outings almost every day and that they have animals there to interact with. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for their child.

Excellent staff and facilities. Great communication between staff and parents. Multiple learning activities throughout the week which change every week that my children thoroughly enjoy and develop from. Outdoor trips to shops and into nature to really give the children the best experience to learn. Couldn't recommend them any more. Highly rate them and I will be sad when they have to leave.

Brilliant staff team, caring and compassionate. Individuality promoted. Homely feel. The staff are really supportive and accommodating. Handovers are very thorough. Large setting with lots of outdoor space.

The staff, facilities, excursions and overall ethos are fantastic. My girls have blossomed with the care, attention and encouragement from the staff here. They are always accommodating, trustworthy and most importantly tailor and listen to the children and their parents' views, suggestions and general feedback. Thank you for giving them the best start in life.

This is the only nursery I came across that take children to parks, care homes and do forest school. My son loves the outdoors and messy play and he gets all of these in this nursery. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely care for the children. Management also look after parents, as much as they can, with social distancing and treating us to hot drinks and snacks.

This nursery is leaps and bounds above others. My elder child went to another nursery and I really see the difference in the standard of care here. The staff treat the children well and give them lots of opportunities to learn and develop, our child has really progressed. The setting is also very real in their approach, mirroring the care you would love to give at home without the distraction of everyday life. We will be sad when our child progresses to big school.

My daughter goes 4 times a week and absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and make you feel reassured your child is being looked after. Especially the past year, with the current circumstances. I can’t thank them enough.

The staff and nursery’s setting is excellent, my daughter went there and now my son attends and they have learnt so much. I am forever grateful for all the hard work and dedication of Charnwood Nursery. 100% recommend them to any parent!
