Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School (Thurmaston)

Both of my girls love it here. The staff and management are excellent. Always loads of activities and the ladies are so helpful. Best thing I have ever done is move my children to this nursery.

My son has been at the nursery for some years. We moved to the other side of the city but we're unable to find a nursery that matched Charnwood so do a 40 minute round trip twice a day to keep him there. The staff are brilliant, I'm sure all activities are planned but it comes across as though they build things into the day that are of interest to my child and will further enhance his learning. The biggest win for us is the level of outdoor learning they do, other providers just aren't able to match this.

The management team are passionate about childcare, continually challenging themselves to learn and deliver more.

We love this nursery. My daughter has an amazing time here and she’s always so well taken care of. They do such a wide variety of activities and she learns and is exposed to so much. We’ve moved out of the area but have kept her going here because she loves it so much.

My son has attended this nursery for over 3 years and the care and provision provided for him has always been excellent and seems to keep getting even better! The staff always have time to speak to you and listen to your concerns. They have worked tirelessly to build my son’s confidence so that he is becoming increasingly school ready. They provide him with excellent opportunities, such as forest school, which we would not have been able to provide for him otherwise. I would unreservedly recommend this nursery to anyone and we are already trying to get our unborn baby’s name down on the list for a place!

Lastly, as a parent, I wonder how they are getting on through the day. Whenever I phone I'm always greeted with a happy positive attitude and not the 'you're calling again...'. They always answer my questions and make me feel at ease.

I love my kids being at Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School, it is by far one of the best places I could ever send my kids. The staff are super nice and treat children like their own. Just so thankful these guys are part of our lives!

I would just suggest they encourage children washing their hands and face more often.

My eldest son, now 10, previously attended Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School and my youngest son now attends. Both of my sons have benefitted tremendously from attending this nursery in terms of the care, support and enrichment to their development. The staff team are and have been consistently excellent over the 10 years that my boys have attended. Furthermore, the staff and management continue to strive to improve the facilities, the learning activities arranged and training of staff to maintain an excellent learning environment. I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to anyone!

My daughter has been going to this nursery since August 2020 and it was the best thing we did. She has developed so much and the nursery staff are constantly developing her communication and skills especially by going out to parks etc. The staff are so caring and it really is like a little family there, always welcoming. Such an amazing hands-on nursery, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Since my daughter started at this nursery in November 2019 I can honestly say how much she enjoys it. She never hesitates to go in when I drop her off and her key worker is always there to greet her. Throughout each day I am constantly updated via the app on what my child has done, eaten, nappie changes etc. I really like this as it gives peace of mind of how she is getting on. Finally I think the focus child & development updates are really good I know my child's learning and development is as important to the nursery as much as it is to me.

When I drop my children off in the morning I leave with full confidence. I never worry about whether they are doing okay because when I pick them up they always have wonderful stories about what they've done that day. Sports, going for walks, playing bingo and they look forward to going back the next day.

My daughter has attended nursery since she was 6-months old and will be leaving soon to attend school. All the staff have provided her with the very best care and education, helping her to prepare for school. The staff are always so friendly and full of knowledge. I feel at ease knowing my daughter is well cared for at nursery. During these tough times due to covid19, the nursery has been amazing. They have stayed in contact to provide home learning activities, Zoom games such as bingo, and Facebook page for friends to keep in touch. Charnwood Nursery has been amazing. Thank you so much!

My daughter has been attending this nursery since January 2019. I was very anxious leaving her for the first time with someone other than family, but the staff have made this transition very easy and have always cared for her in the best way possible. My little girl was always excited about her days at nursery and spoke highly of all her teachers. I am very grateful for all the experiences she has been a part of and the development she has had since starting at Charnwood.

The nursery has provided outstanding service throughout this whole pandemic! Email updates have been very informative and helpful, the staff have been fantastic with helping children settle back in and helping create a new routine. It's great that staff have also been very supportive over the phone for parents. I am so pleased my daughter is attending this nursery and no other.

The nursery and staff here are fantastic. Our son has only been attending for 5 months but he's settled in very well. His speech and grammar have significantly improved.

My son has been attending Charnwood for nearly 2 years and he has developed into a very happy, charismatic boy, thanks to the help of all the staff at the different stages. My son's physical emotional and educational needs have been consistently met whilst attending. He enjoys attending and has a fantastic rapport with the staff. I truly believe this is the best nursery in the area.

I have no hesitation in leaving her, knowing she's going to have a fantastic day!
