Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is situated adjacent to St Peter & St Paul Independent School, providing a link that ensures an easy transition to the school environment.

The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children, aged up to 12-years-old. Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options indoors and outside. Outside there is a garden with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

We absolutely love this nursery and so does our daughter. The staff know her so well and she's learning so much that she's even started teaching us new nursery rhymes and games to play. Everyone is always really friendly and really switched on, the activities are really engaging for the kids and the
staff are really helpful with hints and tips for how to help develop (and manage) the kids at each stage in their learning.

My daughter went to this nursery from 18 months old until she started school. Never once did she come home saying she's been bored. They have plenty to entertain the children with, keeping them happy and busy. She always loved her key worker and created such a bond with them that it was like a breakup
whenever she moved up to another part of the nursery.
My daughter has food allergies, and the staff made sure she got separate mats and plates, so she received the correct food. They don't miss out on anything but get a decent equivalent to not feel left out.
I signed my little boy up once he was in my belly to secure a spot. Only a good nursery would be this busy! I feel confident that he'll equally have an amazing time and I look forward to seeing all the friendly staff again who go above and beyond for the children.

I’ve been bringing my two boys for a total of almost five years now.
The staff here are my absolute village. They love and care for my boys like I would. Without judgment too.
They truly are the village every parent needs.
Yes, the facilities are great, yes, they serve great, wholesome food, take
the kids in the woods and things are clean and well-maintained but none of that matters in comparison to the love my boys receive and have for the staff here.
Thank you guys for helping me raise my boys and making such an impact on the future.

My son has been at this nursery since he was 1 and has now turned 3. I did a lot of visiting nurseries to find the best place for him and this one was beyond amazing compared to any other nursery I visited (and no more money than the others!)
I feel like they genuinely care about my child, are always
checking in about his health, giving me great updates at the end of each day for what he's learnt/done. My child has hearing difficulties and they have made sure to cater for his needs.
My child has had a lot of changes in his life and this nursery has been a constant for him. Knowing I can go to work and for him to be in a safe, fun, loving, learning environment is such a comfort to me.

The staff at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul are always friendly, helpful and supportive. They take the time to listen and make an effort.
They encourage plenty of learning and play, always making it fun for the children. There's always a structure to their terms and goals in mind to work towards.

My son started nursery at 6 months old as I had to return to work early! I was very apprehensive about him starting at such a young age but the staff that take care of him are absolutely wonderful and implemented his home routines to help him settle in really quickly!
He is now 13 months old and absolutely
loves going to nursery, and gives the staff the biggest smiles when we drop him off on a morning!
We had been to look around other nurseries, but once you see St Peter’s and St Paul’s nowhere else compares!

I have nothing but good things to say about this nursery. The staff are so friendly and engage so well with the children.
The meal choices are really varied and I have been told are very tasty, I have had to ask for recipes to replicate the meals at home for my son.
My son’s development in his numbers
and alphabet has come on amazingly, he also has become more confident and happy since attending Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul.

My second child has recently started and my eldest attended for over two years before starting school. This is a lovely nursery with welcoming and kind staff.
My boys are/were very happy to attend and formed very good relationships with their key workers as well as other staff. Staff are always happy
to help and nothing feels like too much trouble. It helps ease the guilt knowing my children are thriving and enjoy their time at nursery.

Over the last four years, our three children have attended the nursery. We have only ever found staff at the setting to be kind, helpful and nurturing with our children. The rooms are all spacious, clean and are decorated and supplied with everything needed.
We will be sad when we no longer need to
use the nursery but also grateful for the start our children have received on their educational path.

All three of our children have attended this nursery and we all love it. They are involved in a huge array of activities, indoors and outdoors. Lots of photos taken, daily diary filled in. There is such a warm, friendly feeling within this nursery. Highly recommend to everyone.

I have two children at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul Nursery and from their first day, I’ve always felt reassured that the staff were taking excellent care of them both. Everyone is always approachable and friendly and has excellent relationships with the children. The children do lots of fun activities

My son has been attending this nursery for nearly a year now. The settling-in period was fantastic and I feel the nursery staff were really supportive and accommodating in settling my son into the nursery routine, which really put my mind at rest.
My child has a great relationship with his key worker
and I feel the communication between parents and staff at the nursery is really good.
The nursery staff are great at giving updates and sharing pictures of the day via the app.
Since starting at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul, my little boy is really happy and thriving, furthermore, myself and my partner think the staff are really encouraging and professional.

Since our little boy has been at Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul (coming up to two years there), he has improved in so many ways.
He has behavioural problems and each member of staff has grown and maintained a very special bond with him and I can’t thank them enough knowing that when I leave my little
boy with them, no matter what that day might throw at them with him, that they will handle it with patience, understanding and kindness.
There aren’t many nurseries that you can genuinely say they treat your children like their own and have their best interests at heart but this one you 1000% can.
Every member of staff is a true life angel and I couldn’t wish for a better place for my son to be, he loves his times at nursery!

My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 10 months old. We experienced great difficulty in having her so I wouldn’t have been happy to leave her with ‘any’ nursery. We chose Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul due to the outside space and location. Since her first day, I have felt supported
and happy that my daughter is in the best hands. She is now 2 and a 1/2 and this feeling has continued to grow each time she has moved rooms.
The staff go above and beyond to provide a comfortable and nurturing environment for all the children, they know names of all the children and nothing is too much trouble. When my daughter moved rooms, the nursery also moved a staff member who had been key in her settling in so that the children who moved would have a familiar face in a new space. The choices made are always children-led which is extremely important but mostly, for me, it’s the care they all take in helping to shape my daughter.

Nursery has been amazing with my children and their development has come on leaps and bounds since starting. They are always excited to go and are so excited to tell me all about their days. Each teacher has individually built a bond with them and it is lovely to see and nice to know that my children
are always happy and safe while in nursery’s care. They really couldn’t do any more than what they already do.

Having previously worked in nurseries and children's services, I can very confidently say that this nursery offers so many more opportunities for children than other childcare settings. My son has been attending since he was 2, he is nearly 4 and getting ready for school. I feel that the staff and activities
available within the setting will have given him a great start in his education. The setting is so friendly from the moment you walk through the front door and all of the staff are amazing and are loved by all of the children. The difference in my son’s confidence and development have been remarkable since attending this nursery and I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone else.

We recommend this nursery to anyone who’ll listen - our son is absolutely thriving and we couldn’t feel more comfortable leaving him with the kind and professional staff here. He has bonded with every key worker brilliantly, making the morning drop-off that much easier!
On top of the day-to-day childcare
basics, we are supported with his development and staff are happy to chat through and help when we reach parenting milestones too (bedtime struggles, relinquishing the dummy, potty training etc.). We often say Children 1st @ St Peter & St Paul is helping us raise him too - like a third parent really! Thank you all.

Hello, my name is Lisa Phillpot and I joined Children 1st in 2010.


I started my journey as a newly qualified Nursery Educator and progressed through senior positions, becoming Deputy Manager with the Over 2’s, and now Manager of the Baby Suite for the Under 2’s.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, which I’m really proud of.


I love watching the children develop into little people and knowing that we’ve helped shape their personalities. I also enjoy supporting and developing my team, helping to build a new generation of confident, passionate nursery educators.


I am especially passionate about supporting our families and creating a safe, nurturing environment where our children can learn, grow, and develop new skills.
