Child 1st (Bakewell)

As a father, leaving his little boy with people he doesn’t know genuinely gave me nightmares. My little boy was previously in another nursery within the local area, one which I was completely not happy with. I called Child 1st, and they understood my worry and managed to get my son in for a week taster. The second I turned up, I felt content; all members of staff, no matter which room we walked around, said hello, the safety in place put my mind at ease, and the app, which I view daily, gives me peace of mind he’s okay. Every time I collect or drop him off, I’m met with a friendly member of staff. On collections, I’m always given a brief overview of how he’s been that day. When he’s at the nursery, I genuinely feel content, and that, for me, was the biggest thing. My son always comes out happy and smiling and is growing in confidence. The team always take time with me and him on handover, and I never leave him upset. Thank you!

The staff have created a warm and welcoming environment, outdoor play is a big focus which is great and they have really improved the outdoor area over the years, including a little herb garden which the children tend to and mud kitchens to get involved in. They also have access to a small wooded area where they do forest schools. My son loved the yoga sessions and the rhythm time, he always came home beaming about them and he looked forward to them each week. I think the main thing for us as parents was that you know the staff focus on really getting to know your child and care for them whilst they are there. They build on their likes and strengths and bring them on. We will miss the team a lot!

I have always said how much myself and my husband love this nursery the staff are so kind and caring towards children and especially ours! We could not recommend a nursery better than this one I'm so glad we chose to send our daughter here and now getting her ready for pre school we have been messaged about everything she has done and visits to pre school it's just a perfect nursery. Five stars.

Amazing nursery. My son was deferred, so did two years in preschool and still hasn’t outgrown it. The staff are fab and so caring. He loves going in and it’s always a ‘yay’ when it’s a nursery day. If I had anymore kids, I would 100% use Bakewell nursery.

Really great bunch of staff, good management. Lovely range of activities and my son has really enjoyed his time here. They’ve been flexible and accommodating, handovers are thorough, the family app is used really well so I have a good understanding of his progress.

Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery has been amazing for my 1-year-old. The development I have seen in him since starting and his confidence is wonderful. He is always so smiley at drop-off and pick-up. The girls always make me feel so confident in leaving him with them and I know he is in safe hands. The communication and information sharing are really good and it is massively appreciated. My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery. My husband always says she just goes straight in and doesn't look back! The staff in the preschool are amazing, providing her with exciting activities and my girl talks about each of them in such a positive manner. Especially her key worker she comes up with fun and exciting learning activities and I love reading her observations each week. I am so happy that my little girl loves it so much!

All of my children currently attend Child 1st Bakewell nursery. They all love coming and the staff are incredible with them. The staff are so attentive to their needs, support their learning and education, and keep us as parents fully informed. The Easter activities they did with the children were amazing and a big hit in our house. Thank you to all the staff, you make leaving my little ones to go to work, a lot easier, knowing how happy they are at nursery.

We have had all our three children at Child 1st Bakewell nursery and I can honestly say I have never had one issue or complaint to make. The children are always happy and well looked after. My children have always been happy to go in in the morning and the staff always know the children well and truly care about them. It makes such a difference to go off to work knowing your children are happy and safe.

The staff have been super with our twins since they joined as babies. They are now three years old and greatly enjoyed every day at Child 1st. The staff work hard to understand their different personalities and to put them at ease. The twins have been encouraged to develop their skills on all fronts, becoming more confident in groups, developing their understanding of numeracy and language as well as tool use for creating art. They also enjoy nature play and learning about music. The regular online updates of their progress is really detailed and informative, allowing us to understand exactly what they have been up to. The staff always take time to have a conversation with us at pickup time, discussing not only the activities the twins have been up to but also how they have been emotionally and how well they have eaten. We have every confidence in Child 1st and are grateful for all they do for us.

Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery is honestly amazing. When my daughter first started here she was 1, she couldn't talk much and was only just starting to walk. After over a year of them doing the Every Child a Talker (ECaT) and Every Child a Mover (ECaM) programmes with her they have helped her become a talkative, running toddler. They are also amazing with any dietary requirements and always keep in touch regarding dietician appointments that I have for my daughter. I can never put into words the gratitude that I have for the staff at the nursery for all that they have done for my daughter and my family! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

The manager is perfect! She goes above and beyond to answer any inquiries and is such a lovely person! My daughter loves all the activities and I love receiving pictures of her enjoying day-to-day activities. Thank you. Keep up the good work!

They have made me feel so comfortable leaving him, I was terribly nervous. He goes in smiling and comes home smiling so I couldn't ask for much more. He has already come on massively in the first three weeks, they have been introducing new solid foods and blended which has been a massive help for the weaning process and holding his sippy cup himself (which he now insists he does himself). I get regular updates on what he's been doing on the app which is so reassuring along with pictures. I'm so happy we managed to get him a space, I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

All the staff are always happy and so kind and caring with the children. The atmosphere is lovely and my son loves going to preschool. I love the communication on the app it's such a great way to feel included in what my son gets up to in the day. The staff always seem to go the extra yard to make everything great in every way. Our son has been at Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery since April 2021 and we've been so impressed so far, even with not being able to ever see inside the nursery before this year due to Covid! The communication has always been great and we've always felt so confident that our child has got the best care and support we could ask for. The staff have always championed our child and celebrated his every success. It's so lovely to see how much he loves the staff and he enjoys going to nursery very much! Thank you everyone.
