Child 1st Bakewell was acquired in February 2017, and is based within a stunning Grade ll listed building nestled in the heart of the town of Bakewell in Derbyshire.

A range of child-led and adult-led approaches to learning and exploration are provided by an experienced and motivated staff team.

This welcoming provision is a safe 'home from home' for young children to develop and grow in confidence, playing and learning with their peers.

The chef creates a daily menu of tasty and delicious fresh meals. Any special dietary requirements are taken into account.

Both my son (now 6) and daughter (3) have been to this nursery. They have both loved their time there and I feel confident they have been well looked after.

I am very happy with the nursery overall. My little girl loves her one day a week and seems to like the meals. I think it is brilliant that they receive all meals plus snacks and nappies and wipes in with the price. Overall the staff are all lovely and helpful and I would recommend to other people.

This Nursery has done nothing but support both my children who currently attend. I have seen a big difference in their social skills and communication skills and confidence. It was a shock to their system when they first started as they’d never been left with anyone other than grandparents. The Nursery
helped them settle in and now they love going. Nothing but praise!

My son is always so excited about going to nursery, he's so happy when I drop him off, giving every staff member big smiles, and is always enjoying himself and happy when I pick him up.


He's been like that since he started at nine months old and you can't fake those reactions at that age!


I love

everything about nursery from the friendly and supportive staff members, great food, cleanliness and activities. And I feel that my son clearly being so happy is a testimony to how great it is.

Fantastic staff all really lovely to get on with. The nursery is lovely and all very organized. My little boy is learning new things each week and always has a good day.
I find it very helpful they always present an end of day report of what they have eaten, what sleep and nappy changes. The staff
always have a catch up with you on how your child is doing and my son is getting to know the girls and they all get to know each child.
Wouldn't send him anywhere else!

The nursery is lovely and clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Since the takeover, lots has been put in place to make the whole experience easier for the parents!

My baby started here at 9 months old and settled in immediately. The staff are friendly and caring and my baby seems to always enjoy herself! As a first time mummy, I was worried about leaving my baby with people she didn't know but I needn't have, as they take great care of her! Lovely happy place!
