Highfield Day Nursery is set in a converted property that is staffed by a highly trained team of childcare professionals. Children's individual interests are nurtured and promoted with child-led play being a key feature of Highfield's philosophy.

A flexible interior supports a great deal of age-specific learning, with four playrooms in total, messy playrooms, sensory rooms, an art room and also a sleeping area for babies.

An enclosed garden offers year-round, all-weather activities which help to promote children's social, emotional and physical development.

They also offer the extracurricular activity of Mini Athletics alternate Monday and Friday mornings from 10am for the Bumblebees and Preschool rooms.

*7am start is available at an additional cost. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

My son has attended Highfield Nursery from 13 months moving through Caterpillars and now into Ladybirds. I'm very pleased with the staff, facilities and environment and happy to see my son settled. It's lovely to be able to have the opportunity to come in and attend Mother's Day afternoon and see him
playing and interacting with his friends and carers.

The nursery provision received has simply been outstanding and my son has been both enthusiastic and happy to attend this setting. I feel he is constantly challenged and thoroughly engaged in the various activities undertaken with his peers. I consider this has set him up very well for attending school
in September and he will be 'school ready'. The team has worked together well in assuring this is the case and I am pleased with the service given by them in pre-school.

The nursery caters really well for children of all ages. Both my children went to Highfield Day Nursery and absolutely loved it. The staff, environment and management are child-friendly, welcoming and always cheerful. The children love the activities there and also the garden. There are only two aspects
which I would have to comment on for improvement;
1) The variety of food for breakfast is really poor. Only Rice Krispies and cornflakes. When the child goes every day it becomes boring- should have toast and other options.
2) Provide halal options, would make a great difference.

Wonderful nursery. Both my children have been through it and they have thrived. We have both been satisfied that they have been with caring staff and in a great learning environment. It speaks volumes that with our second child we still chose Highfield over the nursery attached to the school that my
older daughter had moved to. The building has a lot of character and the kids loved the garden.

Staff are very attentive. My son's key worker is very good and really encourages my son in daily activities and learning. The variety of food provided is well balanced. My son looks forward to attending nursery so as long as he is happy I am happy.

My son is leaving Highfield Day Nursery today after 4 very happy years. I can honestly say it truly is an outstanding nursery, with fabulous staff that really make a "home from home" for the children.
My son has loved every minute and has developed into a well mannered, polite, fun-loving, little boy
- part of which is a credit to the Highfield staff.
I can't thank you all enough and will be sad to no longer be part of the nursery life.
I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough to anyone looking for somewhere to invest in their children's upbringing.

Since our son started the nursery, I have noticed a lot of improvements: He started using the normal bathroom; his speech developed; he started making contacts and friends with other kids and teachers and he is learning to read and count.

This was the best nursery I visited many years ago for my first child. Many years later, my third child is now here. When staff change, there is a tendency for standards to slip slightly but this is quickly rectified once drawn to management's attention.

Natalie is the manager of Highfield Day Nursery in Birmingham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 25 years. She has numerous qualifications, including an NVQ 2 and 3 in Childcare, and has undertaken an NVQ in Management since being with Childbase Partnership. In September 2020, Natalie celebrated her 20 years of service at the company.
