Highfield Day Nursery is set in a converted property that is staffed by a highly trained team of childcare professionals. Children's individual interests are nurtured and promoted with child-led play being a key feature of Highfield's philosophy.

A flexible interior supports a great deal of age-specific learning, with four playrooms in total, messy playrooms, sensory rooms, an art room and also a sleeping area for babies.

An enclosed garden offers year-round, all-weather activities which help to promote children's social, emotional and physical development.

They also offer the extracurricular activity of Mini Athletics alternate Monday and Friday mornings from 10am for the Bumblebees and Preschool rooms.

*7am start is available at an additional cost. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

A lovely nursery, from the wonderful and friendly staff, engaging chefs and brilliant amenities, the transition to nursery has been easy for both children.
We love the feedback both verbally and on the app. My children have enjoyed going to nursery and have learnt so much whilst they are there.
The
team have been very attentive given my child's food allergies and the chef has made a great variety of foods for him to have as well.
The garden space is brilliant for all age groups and has so much space and a huge range of toys for children to play!

My 2 year-olds started attending here in February 2024 and in the past 4 months, they have shown great improvement on the developmental delays that they have. The staff are very kind and welcoming and I feel reassured that my children are well looked after in a safe and nurturing environment.

Very friendly and caring staff, my 9-month-old seems happy at the nursery and is enjoying himself. Staff took the initiative to ask for keywords in his 2nd language which was appreciated. They’re accommodating as when mentioned he could use a walker, they incorporated it into his daily activities. Photos
of him are uploaded onto the app - this is lovely and I always look forward to seeing them. Progress/updates are given via app which is great as it is documented and can refer back to.

Highfield is an amazing nursery and I really recommend them. I currently have 2 children here, one with special education needs and they enjoy every day they go. They send regular updates through their online app including what work they're doing towards targets, pictures and daily food intake/sleep
etc.
I have regular catch-up meetings about my special education needs child to make sure we're all on the same page with his support and they're very keen to get any medical professionals involved such as physio to make sure they're helping him as best they can. They also do parent evenings for every child to discuss their progress and would be happy to arrange any ad hoc meetings if requested.
They have a thorough settling-in process for all new children that really helps put the parent's minds at ease during what can be a stressful time. It also makes the transition much easier for the children.
Both my children have thrived since joining Highfield and I'm grateful for all they do.

Nice and friendly nursery with lovely staff and my daughter has grown great confidence and always feels secure and happy here.
They really take your child’s needs and interests seriously. They will communicate with the parents daily on how the child has been doing not relying on online reports. Parents
felt the warmth from the nursery.

5-star nursery with care for their children! My son recently attended Highfield from when he was in the baby room up until ladybirds and then we had to move due to a change of job location. My son came on leaps and bounds here his bond with his key worker and all the amazing ladies he continues to speak
about daily! Many many more. I was never worried about his care here and will miss this nursery so much.

Our children had a fantastic experience in Ladybirds room, all of the staff were incredible and an absolute credit to the nursery. Their development was huge and that was down to the activities and support the staff in the room offered.
We have always been impressed with the menus and food offered
at the nursery and it was lovely to hear how the children continued to develop their feeding skills and clearly loved the food whilst in Ladybirds.

My daughter has attended Highfield Day Nursery for 2.5 years and has always been enthusiastic about going to nursery, this has been reassuring to me as a parent that I made the right choice.
I have been impressed by the variety of activities that the staff offer to the kids in a number of areas (e.g.
creative, learning, physical exercise) and their attention to each child by both daily reporting and period reporting through the app.

My child joined Highfield Day Nursery when she was 10 months old, the team were really supportive of me as I was having lots of anxiety returning to work, they gave me lots of calls of reassurance, and my child settled really well. The team in the baby room are really nurturing and she found close bonds
with all members of staff and key workers, she is now 22 months and is thriving. Her key worker is honestly one of the best nursery workers she is so attentive to my daughter's needs, and creates creative activities based on my daughter's interests, some examples are they had a tea party as my daughter loves role-playing, making tea at home and jumping in puddles outside as she loves a particular character. They also really support her learning and her vocabulary has grown, she’s counting and loves books, and the whole team is fantastic. My daughter has formed bonds with the other kids. It’s such a lovely nursery.

I honestly can’t fault my experiences with Highfield. The staff are amazing, they go out their way to always ensure my children are happy, content and thriving! I have a child query SEN here and the nursery have been so supportive of this and have done referrals where needed and supported me along the
way to getting a diagnosis. He is thriving and making improvements every day he is there! My other child, she is also thriving in every area. My children are happy and always come home smiling, making friendships and learning new things. The food is of amazing quality and fresh. It is a variety of meals. The management are supportive and helpful. I love the app as I receive regular updates, pictures and videos of all the activities they are doing and these only confirm to me how happy my children are at Highfield! Honestly in my opinion Highfield Day Nursery and its staff are faultless!

We could not have asked for a better nursery to look after our child. He has attended from when he turned one year old and the whole experience of settling in was fantastic.
Our child has really flourished and has become very confident.
The team are so wonderful in the nursery, everyone's always smiling

This is an amazing nursery. Since arriving, our son has developed so much and grown into a confident little boy. Very good nursery in a nice and convenient location. Surprisingly big and lovely back garden for children to play in and free from traffic noise and smog.
I like the fact there is a chef on site and all meals are cooked fresh as well as the puddings.
Our child's pre-school staff were very positive
and supportive and I would like to thank them for that.
I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery and preschool to any parents or legal guardians.

My daughter started at Highfield at age 1 in July 2020. My daughter settled into nursery very quickly and very easily and has been extremely happy there ever since. Room moves have been managed well and my daughter has always made those transitions really successfully. Day-to-day feedback is excellent
both from the app and from the practitioners in the room at the end of each day. The nursery food is particularly excellent and I have always felt really happy with the wide diet that is provided at nursery. This nursery is particularly good at accommodating additional sessions if and when required. They keep the children very safe. They are really open to individualising children's learning requirements. My daughter has done particularly well with spelling out words/phonics and her reading journey with the support of the nursery from Bumblebees room onwards. Whatever the children express an interest in at home nursery will seek to build upon this.

Moving my child to the Highfield has been the best decision, my son has had so much opportunity and most importantly my son is loving this experience. I love the app I am able to see what my son does and eats on a daily basis.
Staff are really good with my son especially when he went through his crying
stage. He now has a really good relationship with them.
Highfield is a really good nursery and I have no complaints with it. I am really impressed.

I love the nursery atmosphere, staff friendliness and their continuous aspiration to develop their skill in dealing with children. My child thrived beautifully at Highfield Day Nursery and their different aspects of development have all been monitored closely and shared with myself over the years. The
staff has been wonderful working on each aspect until achieved. Photos of my child’s day been shared through the nursery App, a feature that we love. The nursery is open for parents to pop in whenever, giving the nursery transparency and parents peace of mind.
I gave the staff section a ‘good’ rating rather than ‘excellent’ as sometimes some of them still deal with certain situations spontaneously rather than how they were trained. An example would be hearing one of the staff telling a child “not to be a drama queen” or “not to worry” although they are obviously going through a tide of emotions that need to be acknowledged. Nevertheless, the staff are super helpful, good listeners and friendly.

My daughter has been going to Highfield Day Nursery for over a year now and it still strikes me how well she’s doing socially now compared to when she first joined.
The staff was kind sharing how my daughter has been keeping and asked me to keep them in the loop which was great for my daughter having
a ‘team’ looking after her.
The healthy variable food served at the nursery also helped my daughter to open up to ‘try’ first before saying that she doesn’t like something.
I would definitely recommend the nursery to other people with such a positive experience I had myself knowing that my daughter enjoyed it very much as well.

My son has attended Highfield since October and I could not be happier with them, he is full of smiles at drop off and pick up and the staff are brilliant with feedback. The toys are well kept and the activities he does throughout the day are amazing! There is a wide range of food and my son enjoys
all the meals there. The staff have been really good with suggestions for home activities and how I can help towards his next steps at home, they are also very considerate about my needs and worries as a new parent.

My son enjoys attending the nursery. The staff are very professional and caring. His speech has gotten better in the last couple of months, and they have really encouraged him. Natalie is the manager of Highfield Day Nursery in Birmingham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 25 years. She has numerous qualifications, including an NVQ 2 and 3 in Childcare, and has undertaken an NVQ in Management since being with Childbase Partnership.
