Stonehouse nursery was once an old farm house building but is now renovated into a fully functional childcare facility. Lots of special remnants remain in their outdoor space like an original farm tractor and their 2 pet chickens who roam through the gardens whilst they play.

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with the children such as encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world. They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

They are big on happy children so they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. Their ParentZone app keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery including photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

The nursery holds the green flag status in the prestigious Green Flag Eco-schools programme which is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.

They love healthy eating at Stonehouse and they've partnered with Startwell, an exciting new programme being rolled out across Birmingham to encourage healthy, nutritious meals for children.

Only the best of experiences. My little one progressed a lot since joining the nursery and has had a chance to make new friends. The staff are very caring and provide a lot of support to the little ones.

Lovely nursery with great outdoor space. Teachers are enthusiastic and caring. My daughter is really happy there and made lots of friends. She's also very close to her teachers.
The location is now completely out of our way due to change of work but we spend about one and a half hours commuting each
way every day to enable my daughter to continue at this nursery.
The menu could be more nutritious and less repetitive.
A bit pricey. Lots of requests for money for charity can get a bit tiring.
Overall highly recommended (I already recommended to two friends whose children have also joined).

My child has been here since June 2017 and I’m very content with the level of care and service provided. Staff are very lovely, accommodating caring and you can tell they are genuinely interested in the well being of the children. Great environment both outdoors and indoors with a vast array of learning
materials. We are pleased and will recommend to all! Well done and keep up the great work!

Thrilled with the transition my son has made since starting this nursery in December 2018 from a previous setting. The kind nature of the staff and attentiveness toward the children is second to none, this is evident with the relationships my son has made. Activities are well thought out and relevant
to learning age. Informative handovers are given and observations/pictures shared regularly. Meals are nutritious and varied, there are alternative options for dietary requirements/fussy eaters. The outdoor area is amazing, lots of learning through play and the chickens give the whole place a warm homely/farmy feeling. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone!

We moved to this nursery and loved it. It had the original Frist Steps ethos. The nursery has excellent facilities, especially the garden.
The staff have been so welcoming and the children have settled so quickly like they have always been here. Especially the youngest who has really come out of his
shell since being here.
The staff also have put on extra sessions to help educate parents to continue the learning at home. I would 100% recommend this nursery.

First Steps have really helped with my child's development.
In her first two weeks here she learnt how to crawl.
In Rainbow room her speech has developed lots within a short few weeks.

First Steps at Stonehouse farm offer a fun, stimulating and caring environment for the children. Both of my children have thrived and made long lasting bonds with both practitioners and peers. Staff are friendly and expereinced and I know my child will be well cared for.

Super Nursery. Great staff on site. The children are always happy and well cared for.
Good online interactive platform between staff and parents/guardians.
Forest school and the care home visits are brilliant.
One problem - the company that runs the nurseries billing system is atrocious. Always wrong
bills being sent, threatening emails despite payment. A shambles. The poor management comment below is just for the billing, not the Nursery manager themselves who is very very good.

The progress my child made while at First Steps Nursery was amazing but more importantly, her confidence grew and grew. The staff are extremely caring and nurturing and I felt completely at ease leaving my child in their care. The learning experiences that are planned each day are brilliant and I felt
the staff knew exactly where my child was in terms of her development and strived to stretch and extend her development.
