Elmdon Day Nursery is a privately owned nursery established in 2004. The nursery is single storey and all the rooms have safety gates, not doors, which gives the nursery an open friendly atmosphere.
There is a small car park at the front.

The nursery caters for all children from birth to five years, with each age group having its own dedicated staff and rooms. Each area is colourful and bright with children's work on display, artistic wall/window murals and plentiful toys and resources. It also has a large, private outdoor area which has a sensory room, mud kitchen, giant sandpit plus lots of space for ride on toys, climbing frames and balancing beams.

The staff plan weekly themes, fun days and charity events to ensure all children have a stimulating and safe environment in which to learn and develop. To compliment this, it has professionals who give music and dance sessions four times a week, which parents can opt their children into. Leapfrog sports and football sessions are also provided.

The setting is part of the Startwell Healthy Lifestyle programme and children have a healthy diet and lots of daily exercise. The nursery can cater for different diets.

To keep parents informed, there is a closed Facebook Group, email system plus newsletters and an annual parents evening. More information can be found on their website.

It offers two, three- and four-year-old funding subject to availability and accepts nursery vouchers and registered for the Gov.t tax free childcare scheme. The nursery was rated 'Good' in all areas during the latest Ofsted inspection (April 2018).

I love the family feel of this nursery, the care is very personal and I feel that all staff know my child really well. This is really important and shows the high level of care that children receive every day. My child enjoys the range of activities and outdoor space which is well equipped.

My twin boys have been going to the nursery since they were 8 months old. The staff are absolutely amazing, very prompt in replying to emails and any questions. The details of activities that the boys do throughout a particular day, the food they eat and everything else is so well documented. Both
our boys suffer from eczema; the staff do everything they can to help them. We feel very secure when they are in the nursery and we can't thank everyone enough for creating such a safe and stimulating environment for the boys.

As a first-time parent I was naturally very apprehensive about choosing a nursery for my son. Elmdon Day Nursery was the first and only nursery I ended up looking at; I just had such a great first impression I didn’t feel the need to look anywhere else. The nursery is so well equipped with wonderfully
diverse resources, an offering I simply couldn’t match at home- I only wish I was in a position to send my son more as he absolutely loves going and gets so excited when we pull up outside! He comes home exhausted but in the best way as I know he’s had so much fun - an insight made possible with the daily updates on the Facebook group. All members of staff are very warm and highly engaging, and the manager is always very responsive to any queries I’ve had. It is clear all are very passionate about their jobs and this is reflected in the genuine connections they have built with the children in their care. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this nursery to anyone and everyone!

My children love the nursery, they've been there a few months and settled in really quickly. The main reason I chose the nursery is the staff were so friendly and now I can say I am so glad I picked Elmdon because my kids come home happy every day, they love the staff and it's clear they're very well-looked
after. The facilities are great, and they love the little garden. They seem to enjoy the food and we get pics and updates every day, showing what they've been up to. Can't fault it.

Since my daughter started here back in September she has come on leaps and bounds, she absolutely loves it here and is always coming home talking about everything she's been learning. She has amazing relationships with the ladies who work at the nursery and is always speaking so highly of them. I would
definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a decent nursery in the area.

Highly recommend! I’d already had such a positive experience from sending my four-year-old here that I knew my youngest would not be going anywhere else. My youngest has been going since January and the staff are nothing but amazing. He goes in smiling and without hesitation. Any mom worries are automatically
squashed due to how friendly and welcoming all the girls are. I get daily pictures and updates of what activities have been completed to what he has eaten. 100% recommended!

Our daughter has been attending Elmdon Day Nursery for a couple of years now. She absolutely loves going and has a great relationship with all the staff. All the staff make the effort to know all the children and take the time to make sure the children are happy.
We were recommended to this nursery
and we are so glad we decided to send our daughter here, she has learnt so much from the range of activities and learning opportunities provided. We could not recommend this nursery enough, the staff work really hard and feel happy leaving her in their care.

I can’t speak any more highly of the staff here. To say they go above and beyond is an understatement. I feel so lucky that my children get to be in such wonderful company all whilst in the best learning environment. My daughter has been going here for almost 2 years, honestly in the beginning she had
such bad separation anxiety I just thought she would never settle into nursery. After about 2 weeks, she was running in and waving goodbye to me. This was all down to the ladies working with us not just telling us how they are at nursery but also giving us help with things that we can do at home. We now live 50 minutes away and I will not change the nursery. I truly believe there isn’t a better nursery for my children. Every time I drop them off I feel so content, the staff are so friendly and it honestly feels like we are leaving them with family members for the day.

Amazing nursery. Staff are amazing with my son he is happy to see them when I drop off and always has a beaming smile when I collect him. I love seeing photo updates on the group and often see him cuddling up to staff when he’s tired. It’s so nice knowing I can go to work knowing my son is being so

I have both my 4-year-old and almost 2-year-old here. Both have been here since 10 months old. I wouldn't trust them being anywhere else. The team really do go the extra mile. Our children absolutely love it there. Fun and different activities daily, lots of fresh air and both have come on leaps and

My daughter has been going to Elmdon Day for the last 8 months and she has come on heaps and bounds - thanks to the engagement of the amazing staff. She learns new skills daily. She enjoys going to nursery and doing group activities, singing, dancing, sensory play and garden play. They have varied
healthy meals and snacks every day. All of the staff are accommodating to each child’s needs. I look forward to seeing the pictures on the private social media page and reading about what she has been up to on her handover sheet. I would 100% recommend this nursery. Thank you to the Manager and all of the team at Elmdon Day for all you do for my daughter.

Highly recommend Elmdon Nursery the Manager and all the staff are amazing! My little girl loves it here and is so well looked after! Nothing is too much trouble and take care even more with her as she has a health condition definitely a 10/10 from us!

I took my twins and daughter to their first settling in session today! From the get go the manager has been amazing I honestly couldn't imagine receiving the support, reassurance and help that she has given anywhere else! With that high standard from the manager I know the staff will all have the same
level of support and care, I've met at least 5 other members of staff and it's true they all seem so invested and so caring! With first day tears from my 2 year old twins the staff told me they gave them lots of cuddles and told me everything was ok.. what more does a mom want to hear? They reassured me and prepared me that tears are normal and they may cry when pulling up outside in the car for the next few times but not to worry. I am just so happy that I found an amazing nursery where I fully trust that my children are in great hands. Thank you and I look forward to their nursery journey.

Both of my children have received excellent care with staff always being very attentive. Communication is good and children clearly are engaged with a range of activities on offer. It is a very well-run nursery and would fully recommend.

My child has been going to the nursery for 6 months now, he has really come out of his shell. He is learning new skills all the time and sensory play at the nursery has really helped him along with this. The staff are excellent and very engaging with him. They not only look at group activities and also
1 on 1 time with the kids with storytime and singing, dancing. They also ensure dietary requirements are met with healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. Love getting the daily pictures of the children via the Facebook group. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

The staff of Elmdon Day really make this nursery the fantastic place it is. I feel so happy to leave my little girl there in such a safe and loving environment. She has learnt so much here and progressed amazingly well in all areas due to the staff always providing brilliant educational opportunities.
We will be really sad for our little girl to leave here in July but have recommended it to several family members as the best nursery in the area.

My daughter has attended Elmdon since September and is really happy and settled. Due to lockdown I was concerned she would find separation from home difficult. However, the nursery staff made her feel safe and content in the setting meaning the transition was really smooth. She is developing lots of
communication skills and it is evident that she is developing based on the support she is receiving from nursery. We receive 2 reports a year about progress, however, more information can be gained on request. I like being able to see photo updates of my child during the day and to see the topic-related learning the pupils are taking part in.

Our daughter has attended Elmdon Day Nursery for approaching 3 years now. Just this morning she woke saying "I love my nursery, can we go and see my friends now" - this is the most reassuring sentence a working parent can hear. She loves it, as do we. She feels safe, happy, and part of a family there.
We feel comfortable dropping her off to any one of the team there, the door is always opened with a friendly smile and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The owner is so approachable and has always been really helpful and flexible. We have regular updates on a private parent Facebook page throughout the day, can see the educational progress our daughter is making through attending the setting and they offer a varied menu and external providers attend to offer outdoor activities regularly too. We wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this setting.
