Elmdon Day Nursery is a privately owned nursery established in 2004. The nursery is single storey and all the rooms have safety gates, not doors, which gives the nursery an open friendly atmosphere.
There is a small car park at the front.

The nursery caters for all children from birth to five years, with each age group having its own dedicated staff and rooms. Each area is colourful and bright with children's work on display, artistic wall/window murals and plentiful toys and resources. It also has a large, private outdoor area which has a sensory room, mud kitchen, giant sandpit plus lots of space for ride on toys, climbing frames and balancing beams.

The staff plan weekly themes, fun days and charity events to ensure all children have a stimulating and safe environment in which to learn and develop. To compliment this, it has professionals who give music and dance sessions four times a week, which parents can opt their children into. Leapfrog sports and football sessions are also provided.

The setting is part of the Startwell Healthy Lifestyle programme and children have a healthy diet and lots of daily exercise. The nursery can cater for different diets.

To keep parents informed, there is a closed Facebook Group, email system plus newsletters and an annual parents evening. More information can be found on their website.

It offers two, three- and four-year-old funding subject to availability and accepts nursery vouchers and registered for the Gov.t tax free childcare scheme. The nursery was rated 'Good' in all areas during the latest Ofsted inspection (April 2018).

The staff and management have been incredible for both of my sons. My 3 year old started in the twos room and is now in the preschool room. He started Elmdon with a speech delay and has come on in leaps and bounds. We are so grateful to them for all their hard work and dedication to helping him. He
runs in happy and smiling and is always delighted to be greeted at the door. My youngest son, started in January is the baby room and is absolutely loving it. I highly recommend Elmdon to anyone looking for a nursery in the area.

Really good nursery the staff are lovely and very welcoming! The SENCO is really good with my daughter and they have a good bond and I love the fact they upload pictures of what they get up too!

I am really happy with the progress my children have made whist attending Elmdon day nursery. The staff are very nice and supportive and go above and beyond to ensure the children are happy and reaching their milestones. Both my children are happy going to nursery which is a great sign they are happy
and comfortable with the staff. I am very grateful and I would highly recommend this nursery to friends and family.

My daughter started at this nursery when she was 1 in the baby room and is now in the 2s room, soon to be turning 3 in May. The staff have been wonderful in both rooms, you can tell they really care for the children, the manager/owner of the nursery is very hands on and communicates well. Staff turnover
seems low which is a great sign, and is also reassuring when it comes to consistency of care. They hold parent evenings as well as bi-annual reports which is great for discussing development in more detail. Photos are uploaded daily and in real time so you are able to see what activities your child has done. My daughter is very happy here and looks forward to seeing her friends and the staff. Extracurricular activities such as dance and football are also available through external companies at a small cost if you wish for your child to join. I would recommend it.

Our son has been happy every day he attended Elmdon Day Nursery. He loves football, and the nursery offers a football club with Coach, which he enjoys a lot, along with many other clubs. His teacher always keeps us updated with informative emails and responds to our messages promptly. Highly recommend

I was recommend to Elmdon Day Nursery by my sister and I will be forever grateful we were able to get a space at the nursery. I was so worried being apart from my daughter but the ladies there put both me and my daughter at rest. She has blossomed since joining and the fact she now just walks in and
doesn't look back brings me so much happiness. The communication is fabulous and the girls who work there are lovely. They go above and beyond to ensure the children have a fabulous time everyday with various tuff trays, different themes, making friends but most of all showing the children how much they are loved. Special thank you to one Nursery Practitioner who our little girl has formed a bond with but also to all the lovely ladies who are always so welcoming and understanding! I couldn't recommend this nursery more! The love and care put into the building and the equipment does not go unseen! Very clean and just somewhere your happy to leave your children.

Both my girls have gone to Elmdon Day Nursery. The younger one is still there and has progressed so well. Brilliant staff, always so accommodating, there's so much to do as well. They've got a few classes like football, singing and dancing which my little one always looks forward to. Cannot fault anything.

I must say it is one of the best nurseries my child has. She learned a lot I must say, all the staff are very nice and helpful (apologies I am not writing the names) but the manager has outstanding behaviour and support she gave us, she went out of the way to help us and accommodated us always. Both my boys have gone to Elmdon Day Nursery. My youngest is still there in the 2's and he absolutely loves it. He has formed friendships with other children and loves the staff. The team at Elmdon Day Nursery are fantastic. So friendly and always take the time to talk about the kids and just a general

My daughter has been attending nursery here since she was 8 months old and she absolutely loves it. She’s come on leaps and bounds and it is so reassuring to know she enjoys her days so much. She has a great bond with the staff and has had the chance to do so many fun activities we wouldn’t do at home.

Amazing nursery both my 7-year-old went and now my 20-month-old has been going since she was 6 months old. Can’t recommend them enough, girls and the Manager are amazing always happy to help and couldn’t trust enough with my girls. Defo recommend them!

My son has been going to the nursery since he was 9 months old. He is due to leave for school in September and there hasn't been 1 day where he has not wanted to go in. The staff will always go above and beyond, if I have any questions they will always try to answer them. My son has learnt so much and
so have I (being a first-time parent) they have even done 'preparation' packs for school in September which is really helping my son. They will always let me know all the details no matter how small about my son's day. Both myself and my son will be sad to see him leave Nursery away from all the staff he has formed really good bonds with.

My son has attended the nursery since September and he absolutely loves it and comes on leaps and bounds. For a child who never liked to leave my or his dad's side he skips up the drive, excitingly rings the bell and hurries inside without even giving us a goodbye. The staff are amazing and always have
lovely things for the children to do. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over 2 years now and loves going. She has come on leaps and bounds since attending and her confidence is growing daily. My eldest daughter also attended this nursery for nearly 4 years and loved it too. The nursery helped us prepare my eldest for school
too which was a massive help as it gave her so much more confidence going to school. All the staff are so lovely and friendly and never hesitate to answer any questions. They're a wonderful hands-on team and I can highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

We moved to Elmodon Nursery recently and this was the best decision we took. We truly wish we had known about this nursery earlier before trying anything else. My daughter hated her previous nursery and it was such a pain for us as parents to see her so scared and unhappy but in a matter of days with
Elmdon Nursery she was a different toddler! What a wonderful patient caring staff I as a mother very thankful to all of them for making this experience nothing but a comfortable and happy one for myself and my daughter. I wish them all the best and I will certainly always recommend Elmdon Nursery.

Fantastic nursery! My little girl has been attending since 2021 and I’m so pleased I went with this nursery. The staff are all lovely and really take the time to listen to any requests you may have. My little girl is looked after very well and that’s all we can ask for as parents. A very diverse nursery

The manager was more concerned about my fees (my daughter had only attended 2 sessions consisting of 2 hours each) than the fact my daughter was extremely ill. Didn’t once message for an update on her health but instead sent me a very rude text about wasting time and needing to pay my fees.

However, this review is totally unfair. The parent asked for a place, I sent all the info via email and text...no response so sent more emails. The parent did eventually respond and promised payment of fees on several occasions. The child started but the parent kept forgetting her registration document which should have triggered alarm bells. The child then missed a session so I contacted the parent who responded they were celebrating a festival. The child then got poorly but I offered to start the fee period from when she returned after her illness which I feel was a very kind gesture. I also offered various payment options to help her. The parent did not respond to the last text so terminated the place and did not charge any fees. Her last email to me was to apologise and to thank me for being so kind and helpful.

My son really struggled with being away from me but the staff here were so patient with him and he honestly settled so well here. He looks forward to attending now which is amazing! Everyone is so nice. They’re always doing loads of different activities and playing outdoors which he loves.

I would just like to say how glad I am that I sent my daughter here from as little as 7 months old. She’s come on leaps and bounds and gets on with everyone who works there. We will really miss coming here next year when my child starts reception. They have a great day-to-day routine and always lots
of extras that the children get involved in. Nothing is too much for these girls that work here. They're all amazing and the only downfall here is that the kiddies have to leave, they need to make this into an infant school also. The manager is great and always communicates anything that’s needed. My child has grown up with the same friends through the groups and Elmdon Day Nursery and she’s a happy girl who loves to be creative and especially on dress-up days. We will truly miss this nursery when we leave next year! Massive thanks to all the staff each and every one of you for the amazing 3 years you have given my child so far. Your all diamonds.
