Elmdon Day Nursery is a privately owned nursery established in 2004. The nursery is single storey and all the rooms have safety gates, not doors, which gives the nursery an open friendly atmosphere.
There is a small car park at the front.

The nursery caters for all children from birth to five years, with each age group having its own dedicated staff and rooms. Each area is colourful and bright with children's work on display, artistic wall/window murals and plentiful toys and resources. It also has a large, private outdoor area which has a sensory room, mud kitchen, giant sandpit plus lots of space for ride on toys, climbing frames and balancing beams.

The staff plan weekly themes, fun days and charity events to ensure all children have a stimulating and safe environment in which to learn and develop. To compliment this, it has professionals who give music and dance sessions four times a week, which parents can opt their children into. Leapfrog sports and football sessions are also provided.

The setting is part of the Startwell Healthy Lifestyle programme and children have a healthy diet and lots of daily exercise. The nursery can cater for different diets.

To keep parents informed, there is a closed Facebook Group, email system plus newsletters and an annual parents evening. More information can be found on their website.

It offers two, three- and four-year-old funding subject to availability and accepts nursery vouchers and registered for the Gov.t tax free childcare scheme. The nursery was rated 'Good' in all areas during the latest Ofsted inspection (April 2018).

Excellent nursery. Both of my children have attended, they are safe, well looked after, and taught new things daily. There is no other nursery I would trust like this one to look after my children. Both have learned such a massive amount in their time there and have been set up brilliantly for school.
Lots of outdoor learning and discovering too!

My 11-month-old has recently followed in her sister's footsteps by attending this nursery and she absolutely loves it. To the point where she cries when daddy picks her up! The girls are very attentive towards her and update us regularly throughout the day with photos on the Facebook group to show us
how much fun they are all having. Could not ask for a more loving group of girls and lovely set of babies for my daughter to play with.

I have two children currently attending the nursery. My eldest absolutely loves the daily activities - drawing, painting, stories, and outdoor play. He loves coming home and telling me all about what he did that day and all the different foods that he has eaten. My youngest only started last month and
has really settled in and we can see such a difference in his development already. We enjoy the daily updates/pictures of what both have been doing and the ladies are always happy to give you a run-down of how their day has been. Both boys love attending and we are extremely happy with the care they receive at Elmdon Nursery.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was a baby, he absolutely loves it. So many fun activities, caring staff, and a beautiful garden for the children. He’s come on so much since increasing his days there. He always comes out happy telling me about all the fun he’s had.

My son has been going here since July 2021, after going to 2 other nurseries in the area and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. His language skills have improved, he made friends and gained confidence. Staff have been supportive, provided valuable feedback, and helped a lot with potty training.
They have lots of activities, every week is themed, they focus on reading books. The facilities are amazing, better than any other nursery we’ve visited. There are separate cottages for separate age groups and they are very well equipped.

My daughter started with the nursery in January 2022 and I am very happy with the care provided. I can tell by the pictures posted on their Facebook group that she has a great time and is very comfortable with the staff and other kids. There are no more tears at the door now and she will wave me off
as I leave. It is great to have an information leaflet at the end of the day to know what she has eaten and been up to, and great to know they are very quick with replying over email if you need anything. Would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son is currently in preschool and has been here since a baby the same as his older sister. An amazing nursery where the staff are invested in all the children. The garden space is brilliant and offers a range of activities throughout the week. The owner is very attentive and nothing is too much hassle
for her. If you ever have a query the staff are at hand for any questions and support. They have a closed Facebook group where they post regularly throughout the day so you can see what your child is up to. I'll be sad when my child leaves for reception, they have been a big part of our lives. Can't recommend enough!

My daughter attended this nursery and I did not realise the positive impact they made at the time because she's naturally very active and social. However, my son is the opposite as he's very reserved and hardly speaks. Since he started at Elmdon last year, there has been a significant improvement in
his development which left us wishing he had started even earlier. He'll be 3 soon and with significant help from staff, he's already potty trained and speaks so much more. Couldn't recommend Elmdon highly enough! The staff understands that each child is different and treat them that way, each child is given the level of attention and support they require. He is much happier going to nursery these days. Thank you all!

My son has recently started here and he loves it. I’ve really noticed a real change in him. He is so confident and chatty. The nursery has a healthy menu every week which includes all the needs of my child. The staff are friendly and always willing to discuss the activities that my son has completed
during the day. They are a credit to the nursery. The manager is particularly involved and on hand via email with all my questions. The additional closed Facebook page is great for looking at the day my son has had. They use the tapestry system and again are updated daily with his care plan (nappies, sleep and meals). I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since 14 months old. She can’t wait to get in and doesn’t want to come out when I pick her up! She loves all of the girls and we get daily records and regular photos of what she has been up to as well as learning observations too. There are always lots of
activities, which vary greatly. My daughter always comes home singing nursery rhymes. She has come on so much since starting at Elmdon. She eats a wide variety of meals and snacks during her days at Elmdon and it has hugely helped with developing her eating manners and willingness to try new foods. I had huge anxiety about leaving my baby with strangers and viewed several nurseries. Elmdon was the only one where I felt 100% at ease and had no concerns. I have complete peace of mind that my little one is safe and cared for. The team are all really friendly and the owner is always on hand and helpful.

My son goes to this nursery and loves it so much. His development has come on leaps and bounds since attending. The staff are wonderful and nothing is ever too much trouble! My boy loves them all too. He loves going and is always excited when he arrives.

My son goes to this nursery and he always comes back home happy. He praises the staff and has been learning etiquette very well. He has been implying the teachings and behaviour at home. It gives me happiness to see that he is learning new things and most importantly he stays happy and enjoys the time
there with other kids. The staff is always welcoming and the manager is always there to help.

This is my second review of Elmdon Day Nursery - my son left in 2019 to move up to infant school. My daughter has been attending since she was a year old and has just turned 3. The nursery has been absolutely amazing with both my children. My daughter enjoys every day she attends and has so missed attending
nursery - she has just started back. She was so excited when she heard she was going back - she arrived with a smile on her face and left with one. Staff are caring, attentive, supportive and encourage a great learning environment for the children through all the activities they complete with the children. Many thanks to the manager and the staff for all their hard work.

We are very happy we chose Elmdon as a nursery for Jan. He is always very happy and very tired when we pick him up. He enjoys especially, the beautiful garden they have. Although we speak two different languages at home, his English, which he uses only at the nursery, is getting better and better. Soon
he will be our personal English teacher.

Elmdon Day Nursery is fantastic. Our son has attended since age 1 and having worked with children myself for a number of years, when the owner first showed us around, I knew she had a real passion for the job. The owner and her staff are great, our child loves the nursery and our newborn will be starting
in just under a years time. There are other nurseries more local to us although I wouldn't choose anywhere over Elmdon.

Elmdon Day Nursery has been absolutely fantastic for our daughter. She looks forward to going to nursery for the few days a week she goes. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and take the time to listen to each child who is there. They have been fantastic with understanding and being considerate
of dietary requirements as our daughter has a vegan diet. The manager is in constant contact with all parents keeping them up to date on anything that is happening at the nursery especially around COVID-19. There were helpful emails of advice and guidance for engaging with children and keeping them learning and entertained whilst isolating at home. A baby first aid course was organised for parents to attend in the evening so parents could keep up to date with first aid advice.

My son is due to leave this nursery the end of August to start school and I have to say all the staff are very knowledgeable and know my child, not just the girls who work in the cottage which makes it easier when picking up and dropping off that they can inform me of how his day has been. They have
shown him so much care and attention while he has been there. Everyone is wonderful with him especially his key worker who is amazing and has done loads of one on one work with him teaching him to read small words, practising fastening buttons etc.
And not forgetting a fantastic manager who keeps us all informed on what's happening and keeps the nursery running smoothly.
They are all a fantastic bunch of people who all work really well as a team to keep the nursery running especially through this difficult time of COVID.
I would highly recommend this nursery as its amazing.

My child has been attending the nursery for 12 months now. He is 3, he enjoys going so much, never had a problem dropping him off. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is a closed Facebook page where we get to see updates and pictures of the children enjoying playing and activities. Also
we get notifications of observations, which is great that I get informed on the activities he has taken part in. Would highly recommend.

We have been using Elmdon Day Nursery for 6 years now, my eldest started at 10-months-old and my youngest now attends the nursery. I can honestly say the nursery is fantastic, lovely caring staff and lots of fun activities to keep the little ones entertained. I feel nursery takes all the correct measures
to help protect all against COVID-19 as I feel my daughter is safe at all times. I love that observations and care diaries for the younger children are loaded on to Tapestry and the Facebook page for parents is great, especially as you can see what they are doing during the day. I would highly recommend Elmdon Day Nursery.

Such a wonderful nursery with lovely staff who take great care of the children. My little boy is always excited to go. Lots of outside play which is always great and structured activities throughout the day.
