Elmdon Day Nursery is a privately owned nursery established in 2004. The nursery is single storey and all the rooms have safety gates, not doors, which gives the nursery an open friendly atmosphere.
There is a small car park at the front.

The nursery caters for all children from birth to five years, with each age group having its own dedicated staff and rooms. Each area is colourful and bright with children's work on display, artistic wall/window murals and plentiful toys and resources. It also has a large, private outdoor area which has a sensory room, mud kitchen, giant sandpit plus lots of space for ride on toys, climbing frames and balancing beams.

The staff plan weekly themes, fun days and charity events to ensure all children have a stimulating and safe environment in which to learn and develop. To compliment this, it has professionals who give music and dance sessions four times a week, which parents can opt their children into. Leapfrog sports and football sessions are also provided.

The setting is part of the Startwell Healthy Lifestyle programme and children have a healthy diet and lots of daily exercise. The nursery can cater for different diets.

To keep parents informed, there is a closed Facebook Group, email system plus newsletters and an annual parents evening. More information can be found on their website.

It offers two, three- and four-year-old funding subject to availability and accepts nursery vouchers and registered for the Gov.t tax free childcare scheme. The nursery was rated 'Good' in all areas during the latest Ofsted inspection (April 2018).

I have a 1-year-old and 2-year old that have come on leaps and bounds since attending Elmdon day nursery. On a daily basis, the 2-year-old will ask if she's "going to play with children today?" And I've never seen her move quick enough to get dressed when it is nursery days! The staff are so lovely
and my girls are so happy to walk in and see them, it reassures me that the staff are obviously interacting with them a lot as well as being kind and caring towards them! I've already told 3 people about the nursery for when their babies are born and will continue to refer other people to the nursery!!

Most welcoming and friendly nursery. I send my twins and I couldn't ask for nicer people to look after them. They do different activities and extra music classes. Love that there is a big garden and they get to play outside a lot. Really good value for money.

As a working mother who suffers from anxiety, it is imperative that I trust the carers of my children. My daughter started this nursery 3 years ago ... the best decision I have ever made. Their approach is warming and welcoming. They use compassionate and understanding with every child and are very
accommodating when I need extra support anywhere. My son who is now 19 months has attended since he was 4 months old. I cannot recommend Elmdon Day Nursery enough and would encourage any parent.

When my daughter first started I was very concerned how she would cope in a nursery as she was a very clingy child and suffered separation anxiety.The staff were brilliant with her and went above and beyond their duty to comfort her and reassure me. To my amazement she settled in really quickly, she
absolutely loves going now and that's all thanks to the wonderful staff at Elmdon Day Nursery. Staff there are friendly and very approachable. I would highly recommend this nursery, it's done wonders for my daughter and it's lovely to see how happy she is there.

This wonderful nursery was recommended to me by a friend and fellow mummy! She spoke nothing but good things about the girls and now I know why!
My little one has been attending Elmdon Day since September 2016 and I can't express how much his learning development has improved. My little one can be
very fussy but they introduced him to things I would never even think of, he loves painting and crafts now. He is starting to eat properly at meal times. I can't thank them enough for the time they spend and the quality of it! THEY CARE and it really does show. I love the environment and how they separate the children into correct age groups so they can concentrate on the correct learning development. The garden is amazing and they always make sure the children get some fresh air and exercise even in the drizzly days which I love. I 100% trust these girls with my little world, they have shown me that I can relax for a few hours knowing he is in safe hands.

Both my daughters attended Elmdon Day Nursery, my youngest still attending now and I am extremely happy with my choice. The staff are wonderful and most importantly my daughters were happy and safe so I could go back to work. The manageress is very helpful and easy to talk to and keeps a lovely clean
environment for the children. My youngest has come a long way since starting Elmdon Day Nursery and it really is down to her and her wonderful staff.

Super friendly staff who are brilliant with the kids. Very clean. My child was going to another nursery Ofsted rated 1 but my son was always ill from cup sharing with other concerns. Sorry, Ofsted you got it wrong Elmdon Day Nursery is so underrated.

Both of my sons have attended the nursery (youngest still attends). I cannot recommend them enough. All staff are friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The thing I love the most is the loving and family feel you get the moment you arrive. Lots of affection and praise is given to all children
and I know that my boys have settled and thrived in such a wonderful environment.

As a first-time parent going back to work, sending my daughter to nursery was a difficult decision in my life. After visiting a couple of nurseries in the area, my husband and I decided against sending her to nurseries and a close friend looked after her while when I went back to work. After a month
or so I came across Elmdon Day Nursery and after the first initial visit, we can happily say we have never looked back. Our daughter has attended the nursery from 10months old and is now in the pre-school side of it. My daughter is so happy and bubbly when we take her in and even at times cries when we get to the car because she enjoys her days so much. The staff members are amazing there and I couldn't wish for anyone better to be looking after my child. My daughter attends 5 days a week, so finding somewhere she bonded so well with the staff members and children is a massive thing for us as parents.

EDN (Elmdon Day Nursery) is a fabulous nursery. All three of my children attended there, 2 still do, right from babies. The staff are friendly and amazing with the children. What I love is the fact my children learn new things all the time and have built up some lovely friendships. Definitely a great
nursery to take your children to.

Both of my children have gone to this nursery and they loved it! There was a short waiting list so both children started nursery at different places and neither of them settled and enjoyed it as much as Elmdon Day. I trust the staff and they are really accommodating. I find the owner treats the nursery
like a hobby, not a business as she's always there and always happy and so are the staff.

Both my daughter (now 5 but still pops back in school hols) and now son 18 months have attended Elmdon Day and I can't recommend this place enough. Friendly staff who are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the kids have a great time and feel safe. The key workers are mentioned daily in my house
such is the impact they've had on both children. The manager is fantastic, hands-on, approachable and accommodating, often squeezing us in if we have a childcare emergency. Top-down the nursery is run very well.


They've given us inspiration as parents whether that be from the games they play, books they've read, songs they've sung and phonics they've learnt! Comprehensive learning through play right from babies helped my daughter start school with great confidence. My kids have made many friends there and have stayed in touch with some. Tried a few nurseries in the borough and this place is the one!

The staff are always friendly and make sure my son feels happy when he is left there, which makes me feel safe about leaving him. They have a private group for parents to see updates throughout the day which is always reassuring. My son has developed so much since joining the nursery, not only mentally
but socially, this is thanks to the activities he's able to take part in there.


As a first-time parent, I was felt nervous about leaving my son at nursery but once I'd visited and seen how he was getting on, all the worries vanished. They have wonderful staff who are always willing to answer any questions no matter how silly! (I honestly cannot rate the staff highly enough, they go above and beyond!)

We've used Elmdon Day Nursery for the past 4 years and had no hesitation in enrolling our second child who is now almost two years old. The staff are friendly, helpful and easily developed bonds with our kids who have always looked forward to going. Their educational and social development has always
been very noticeable too which has helped them immensely.

Nothing but good things to say about this nursery.
My son loves it and all the girls there are so lovely and treat my son so well. Management are great too. It's great the fact we are updated every day about what our children eat and the activities they do during the day. Would recommend it to anyone.

Couldn't recommend well enough. Brilliant staff and so helpful. Our little girl has come on leaps and bounds since being there and couldn't thank them enough.
Not had a single issue and they keep you up to date constantly with what your baby/child is getting up to.

This is a lovely nursery, all of the staff are friendly and helpful and they will always take time to chat about how your child is doing and what they've been up to.
I have two children, my eldest attended between 11 months old until he went to school. My youngest is here and will stay there until
she goes to school too.


One of the best things about Elmdon Day Nursery is the attitude towards messy play and going in the garden. They go out in all weathers as long as the children are wrapped up warm, and they do loads of painting and other messy stuff.
I wouldn't send my children anywhere else.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for over a year now. The staff there are lovely and always very informative about her day. She has come on so much with her speech and general social skills since being there. I feel she is genuinely looked after whilst in their care and I like that as I don't
worry about her whilst she is there. She takes part in an extra music class in the week as well which she enjoys. The nursery keep us up to date with information and always answer any questions we have. I would definitely recommend it to others.
