Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-School is set in a rural Georgian mansion surrounded by three acres of private grounds, just a mile outside Sutton Coldfield town centre. It offers the best of both worlds, a beautiful countryside setting that remains easy to reach for local families, with outdoor experiences woven into the heart of everyday nursery life.

The nursery is highly rated by families, a real reflection of a team that works hard to build strong bonds with children, get to know their individual interests and curate early years learning activities that are genuinely engaging and fun.

Indoors, rooms are neutrally decorated and well-resourced with natural materials to encourage creativity and exploration. Children under two benefit from their own dedicated unit, complete with physical and sensory rooms designed to support motor and emotional development at this important early stage.

The fabulous garden gives children space to explore, have fun and develop motor skills and confidence in a truly special outdoor environment.

Family partnerships are warmly valued here. Stay and play sessions give families a real feel for nursery life, while events including a summer fete, autumn workshops and bake sales bring the nursery community together throughout the year.

If you are looking for a nursery in Sutton Coldfield with exceptional outdoor space, a dedicated team and a community that families love being part of, Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-School is well worth a visit.

Our daughter started at Langley Gorse in December 2018. Prior to her starting, she had several settling in sessions that took place at different times of the day. This allowed her to experience breakfast, lunch and dinner before starting the nursery as well as getting to know the nursery staff. As a
parent, I really valued this approach and it reassured me that when she started, she would be familiar with the staff and her surroundings.
Since she started, we have nothing but enjoyment from her. She goes to nursery really happy and comes home really happy. I feel that the staff at the nursery know my daughter really well and will often talk about her quirks, likes and dislikes when we take and collect her. The nursery record her day on their app and we love to see what she has been doing. As well as this, we get daily feedback that all staff working with her contribute to. I would highly recommend Langley Gorse.

Wonderful setting with friendly staff in an incredibly welcoming environment. Having had a bad experience with a previous setting, we had a lengthy conversation with management before starting and felt all our concerns were really listened to and addressed. Where our child was extremely nervous about
nursery before, he now runs in on his mornings at Langley Gorse and is really excited to be there.

Our son started at Langley Gorse in October 2018. He underwent a thorough induction and the staff took their time to explain how everything works at the nursery. He settled fairly well within a good time frame. Since Christmas, he has flown and we have seen him hitting his developmental milestones
with the care and nurture of the nursery staff. He enjoys nursery and is confident with his familiar caregivers. When our son wasn’t eating as well as he could have been, we worked closely with the nursery and he is now eating a wide range of varied meals. Any little problems that we have had along the way have been dealt with and I am confident that our son enjoys his days at nursery, which is located within a fantastic setting. Thank you to all the staff at Langley Gorse.

Such caring staff who are always willing to go the extra mile. They always keep us involved and informed. I am particularly impressed with Tapestry allowing us to upload photos and videos as well as seeing what our little ones are up to at nursery. Would highly recommend.

I have been impressed with the overall standard of the nursery since my daughter joined when she was 1.
Their attention to detail and looking after her needs has always been catered to and despite her only going 2 days a week I feel she has learnt a lot from there.
She loves the outdoor space and
their open door policy suits her to the ground.
Highly recommend to any parent.

We send our daughter here to this lovely nursery. The staff are always happy to see our girl and give her the support and time to develop and have fun. The rooms are suitable for the age groups and have an amazing space outside to play. It is a very professional and caring nursery.

Langley Gorse Day Nursery is wonderful. Great location, lovely countryside feel and next door to a working farm! The space for under twos is impressive - four big rooms, a nature room, physical room, adventure room and a sensory room, all so cosy and clean. The displays, themes and activities are changed
in line with calendar events and seasons. The landing is used for messy play, a separate dining room, nappy change room and a garden for the under twos.
At Langley Gorse they use every opportunity to take the children outside regardless of the weather. The staff are polite and professional, a real credit to the success of this nursery. Information such as feeding, nappy changes and sleeps are documented and relayed at the end of the day. The chef creates healthy seasonal menus and rotates to ensure variety. I’m happy with how safe and settled my daughter is here and how well she is developing. I have seen developments through observations, photos and videos posted on the secure online portal.

My daughter and niece love this nursery. It is a welcoming, relaxing space without all of the usual 'noise' over the walls. The staff are warm and friendly, have amazing bonds with the children and update parents well. Their curiosity approach means that there are plenty of high-quality toys and everyday
objects bring role play areas to life. The outdoor areas are excellent and well used - children are encouraged to play and explore no matter what the weather! The food is also excellent and enjoyed by the staff as well, which I believe confirms its quality. We are so glad that we made this choice for our child.

Langley Gorse Day Nursery is a real gem, well run and has a fantastic location sitting on the edge of a working farm. The facilities are well planned out and spacious to let your little ones play comfortably. Meals are fantastic and served in a separate room. Good records are kept of what they eat,
drink, sleep and poo. This information is really well relayed to you when you pick up your child at home time. All the staff are well trained and brilliant with the children. In our opinion this the best nursery to give your child the best start in their early development. We know when we drop our twin girls off in the morning that they are going to have a fun well constructed day in a very safe and loving environment. We are very happy with the way our girls are developing, well done Langley Gorse.

I moved my son to Langley Gorse when I was unhappy with the nursery he previously attended. From when I walked through the door I knew it was the perfect nursery for him. Caring staff, great outdoor area and lovely use of natural resources for play.

My son has been attending the nursery since he was 11 months old and has just turned 2. From my experience of the nursery, I have found the staff to be very friendly, approachable and caring. They have built up a great relationship with myself and my son and have always been very informative when communicating
about my sons day. They have great parent partnerships holding fetes and themed parent workshops throughout the year to attend, I have always felt very welcome and have enjoyed working with my child in the setting and having the opportunity to see the activities provided by the nursery. The nursery is well equipped with lots of natural materials to follow their ethos of the curiosity approach and the outdoor area provides so many opportunities for learning. My son loves exploring the outdoors so it’s ideal that the nursery provides a free flow system in rising twos room so my son can choose to play inside or outside. I would highly recommend this nursery to my friends and family.

My child is very happy at nursery from the moment I drop him off to the moment I return! You are given a warm welcome at drop off and the same at pick up!
My son is never in a rush to get ready to come home and wants to carry on playing!
This is lovely to see.
He sometimes even asks to go to nursery
on the days he doesn’t usually attend!
I know my child is well looked after at the nursery, from the food he eats to the love and affection he is given from the staff.
My child has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery and he has made numerous friends!
I can't seem to fault the nursery at anything and would recommend Langley Gorse day Nursery to other parents.

This nursery is lovely and friendly, they have an amazing garden for the children to play in and let the children lead in activities using natural resources and real everyday items instead of lots of plastic toys etc. I love their "curiosity approach" and the fact that whenever I pick my son up at lunchtime
it always smells delicious rather than like yucky canteen food. Staff are very friendly and caring so I feel safe and comforted leaving my son there. He loves it.
Highly recommended.

Outstanding in all areas. Fantastic location in a rural setting. Lots of spacious rooms for our twin girls to play throughout the day. I viewed many other nurseries and they all felt claustrophobic in comparison. All rooms are decorated and designed to offer different experiences for babies to play,
sleep and eat. Staff are professional and friendly with the best interests of children at heart. It is a great place for my twin girls to grow and learn. An amazing nursery that I would definitely recommend to any parent.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-school is calculated as follows: ( (377 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 384 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-school is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 number of registered child places is 18.8, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
