Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-School is set in a rural Georgian mansion surrounded by three acres of private grounds, just a mile outside Sutton Coldfield town centre. It offers the best of both worlds, a beautiful countryside setting that remains easy to reach for local families, with outdoor experiences woven into the heart of everyday nursery life.

The nursery is highly rated by families, a real reflection of a team that works hard to build strong bonds with children, get to know their individual interests and curate early years learning activities that are genuinely engaging and fun.

Indoors, rooms are neutrally decorated and well-resourced with natural materials to encourage creativity and exploration. Children under two benefit from their own dedicated unit, complete with physical and sensory rooms designed to support motor and emotional development at this important early stage.

The fabulous garden gives children space to explore, have fun and develop motor skills and confidence in a truly special outdoor environment.

Family partnerships are warmly valued here. Stay and play sessions give families a real feel for nursery life, while events including a summer fete, autumn workshops and bake sales bring the nursery community together throughout the year.

If you are looking for a nursery in Sutton Coldfield with exceptional outdoor space, a dedicated team and a community that families love being part of, Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-School is well worth a visit.

Both my children have attended Langley Gorse, and they have been amazing! The staff have a great relationship with the children and really have their best interests a heart. The nursery has an excellent approach to play and development using real-life objects for role play, and a huge variety of activities,
using the child’s likes and interest.
Even during such difficult times with the pandemic and lockdowns, their standards have still remained extremely high! As a family, we have been so grateful for the safe and nurturing environment the nursery has continued to provide for our daughter!
We can’t thank the team enough for all that they do!

Very friendly and helpful staff. My daughter is very happy every day she goes. The staff always give good updates from her day. We have never had any concerns. They have acted professionally, efficiently and safely during the covid pandemic.

Since the first time I visited Langley Gorse, I knew it was the perfect place for my daughter. The building is spacious for the children, full of character and the wrap-around garden and variety of outside space is perfect for such an active child like mine. Not only that but it provides even more learning
opportunities outside of a normal classroom environment which I know my daughter has more than benefited from. The nursery has a really homely, family feel which I love and has meant that my daughter has flourished in confidence and development. She has made so many friends whilst still learning through play - another huge reason why I would highly recommend Langley Gorse. The teaching staff know the children and their unique characters and personalities intimately and I love the update they provide each day. It’s just been a really lovely few years at the nursery and a place I would recommend to all parents.

My son has attended the nursery for a year and a half for 2-3 days, he has a good time and it's never a struggle taking him in. The staff are very friendly and we are happy that he is taken good care of.

Very friendly and professional staff. They have gone above and beyond to help the children feel settled in very strange circumstances as a result of the pandemic. I would recommend the nursery to others.

The staff are friendly, pleasant, helpful and professional. They took the time to listen to what my child needed and what he needed to help him to settle in. The house itself is full of rooms, full of toys that children could never get bored of playing with, it is an amazing place. The play area in
the garden is just fantastic. The nursery is set in a country setting with views of the countryside all around it and you just feel it's a nice quiet relaxed but educational place to send my child. If you are looking for really good nursery take the time out and go and look at Langley Gorse before you make your mind up.

My daughter loves going to Langley Gorse, she is happy to walk in on her own having been greeted at the door by her key worker. She then bounces out happy and content, telling me everything that she has been doing.
The tapestry system is brilliant as I get an update on what my daughter has eaten through
the day when she has been to the toilet, slept etc. I have a monthly report on what her next steps are and what I can be doing at home to support her learning.
There is constant dialogue, which is really supportive. I have been kept up to date with the current guidelines during COVID-19 and the nursery have been fantastic at keeping the number of cases to an absolute minimum, which has meant that key workers have been able to keep working knowing their child is safe.

My daughter started Langley Gorse in September and I’ve been so pleased with how well she has settled in. It’s a great sign that she’s beaming every morning when I hand her over to the staff who are warm and friendly. I’m kept up to date with her daily routine via their online journal and see photos
at least weekly of the activities she takes part in. I love seeing how much fun she has and couldn’t recommend Langley Gorse enough.

My son started at Langley Gorse in February 2020. He was very unsure and took him a while to settle, but in about two-three weeks he formed bonds with most of the staff in his room especially his key worker. Now he wakes up every morning, excited to go to nursery to show or tell them what he did the
previous day. All the staff are very caring and give great feedback. One of the best thing that we like is the outdoor space the nursery has, which my son absolutely loves. Would definitely recommend Langley Gorse.

My son has been going to the nursery for the last few months and he loves it. He has come on leaps and bounds since starting and is learning something new every day. The staff are great too, they clearly care about the children and their well-being.
The app is used every day for general updates and
also a few times a week with photos and comments which are lovely to see.
The different learning rooms and outdoor space are great too, so much for them to do!

Both my little ones have attended Langley Gorse Nursery and I couldn’t recommend them enough. I feel my children are safe and very well cared for and the staff are fantastic. I love the garden at Langley Gorse so much open space and wonderful things for the children to explore. My daughter is a very
cautious little girl but will run into Langley Gorse with a smile which is lovely to see so I know she loves it there. I love seeing all the fantastic activities my children get up to through the online learning journal as it keeps me up to date with their days. I’m very happy we found Langley Gorse and wouldn’t choose anywhere else.

My little boy started at Langley in the summer, after only being looked after by his Nanny I was unsure how he would settle in. On our tour, I knew immediately this was the place for him. The girls who take care of him are so patient and caring and when he's sad or unsure are incredibly supportive and
encouraging. The online learning journal updates are fab and I can see what he's been up to and what he's eaten (which is usually everything, including cucumber!) I have already requested for an extra day for him to attend as he's come on leaps and bounds since starting at Langley. I would recommend this nursery in a heart beat!

What a wonderful environment for children to learn, grow, have fun and express themselves! On the first visit, you cannot help but be impressed by the friendly staff, welcoming children's rooms and of course the amazing outdoor space and facilities. Our daughter has been in attendance for a few years
now and the way in which she has developed in her vocabulary, self-expression, independence and social interaction skills, is a testament to the brilliant work and care provided by the team at Langley Gorse.
The way that the nursery has managed the COVID-19 situation has been exemplary with the primary focus being the safety and well-being of the children in their care at all times. The reassurance this provides as a parent whilst we continue to try and manage all of the other pressures that the pandemic has brought cannot be understated.
Thank you and it will be a sad day when she has to leave you next year for Reception.

Both our children have attended Langley Gorse, our smallest is still there. We have always been very happy with the excellent care they provide for the children. Both our children have loved going there and have really developed from attending. They have lots of fun but learn a lot too. It is a great
setting with lots of space and a brilliant outside area, surrounded by lovely countryside. I would definitely recommend it to any friends and family looking for a nursery for their children.

I am so pleased with Langley Gorse Nursery. Staff go above and beyond to ensure you and your child are happy and are so flexible to meet every child’s needs. My child had a number of settling in sessions covering various aspects of the day. Communication from staff is excellent and we receive daily
updates on how our child is getting on, what they have eaten and how they’ve slept etc. Most importantly my child loves going there! I would absolutely recommend Langley Gorse to anyone who is looking for childcare where staff will always support your child’s development and wellbeing.

My son has been going for almost 2 years after a first bad experience in another nursery. I can not stress enough how amazing this nursery is. The staff are friendly and really care about children. The management is always here to support and their response to working under covid is outstanding. My
son is truly happy there. When I leave him I know he is going to have a great day. The nursery goes the extra mile and uses an app to log activities, meals, daily report, photos development and future plans. They are always happy to discuss any matter whether it’s about my son or my personal circumstances.
It’s great to see happy staff and a strong team.
The nursery is clean and the rooms have been designed to stimulate children, there is a big garden and a view to nature and horses. My son made some good friends and loves the staff. I am grateful for all the support and just to feel at peace because they take good care of my son, and we know how hard it is to leave our children.

My son started this nursery Sept 2020 at the age of two half. He had previously been with a very much loved childminder since the age of 8 months and due to covid, we needed to move him. My son is wild and adventurous so I was nervous about this sudden move for him and how he would settle in and would
they understand him. On our viewing, the manager took us around and both of us instantly fell in love and silently agreed to ourselves this was the right place for our son. The manager had a huge part in our decision she had this amazing aura and without any children present you could feel what it gave and the way the children were looked after. My son has run into nursery every week without fail no tears, he enjoys it and loves coming home to tell me about his day. My only regret is that my son hasn’t been there since the beginning because now I know this is where he was always meant to be. I can’t thank Langley Gorse enough, after a tough year, they have filled my heart with confidence and contentment.

This nursery is simply amazing. I couldn't ask for any more. All the staff have been so lovely and welcoming. My little girl loves to go and can't wait to tell me about her day and all the fun things she's been up to. She adores the staff, which is a great review in itself. The facilities are wonderful.
So much for the children to do and explore. I love that you can go online to see what your child has been up to and also add your own comments for staff to see. It's such an interactive nursery with staff who are always happy to talk and share information about the day.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-school is calculated as follows: ( (377 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 384 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Langley Gorse Day Nursery & Pre-school is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 number of registered child places is 18.8, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
