Little Pioneers Swindon is a purpose built, modern nursery which is all on one level with large, bright and airy rooms and their supportive practitioners make Swindon feel like one big family.

They have an app, ParentZone, which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to taking care of the world.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

At Little Pioneers Swindon Hospital Nursery there are four age appropriate spacious rooms, nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access and 'free flow' into the secure garden area. Each room is self-contained with a sleep room, nappy and toilet area and a milk kitchen for younger rooms.

We transferred our son to Little Pioneers so that he could be closer to his father's workplace. The staff are truly lovely, and since joining, our son has learned new words and phrases to express himself, especially as he comes from a bilingual family. He has developed an understanding of discipline,
social rules, safety awareness and, most importantly, politeness. These are such important foundations in early childhood, and we are incredibly grateful to Little Pioneers for helping to build them in our child.

I've had 2 children in Little Pioneers, since 2021.
I cannot fault the nursery.
I feel my child is happy and safe.Each child's individual needs are acknowledged and catered too.
All protocols, procedures etc are followed, learning and development is structured as per the early years guidelines, the
practitioners are lovely and the children have access to a range of resources! The food offered is varied and nutritious.
Thank you little pioneers for helping my two children grow :)

I would highly recommend this nursery and pre school. My son finish last summer to start school. The team here helped get him ready in so many ways. And every times he talks about his time there he says how much fun and how he enjoyed himself there with his teachers. My daughter is still here now and
started last year- she also has the best time here the care is amazing. The staff make every day special for the children and help them grow so much!
This was the best start we could have given our kids with the school process we feel.
The staff are long standing staff and all amazing at their jobs ! Thank you team!

So happy with Little Pioneers. A wonderful, engaging environment. Staff are all so warm and friendly. Handovers are incredible and detail on the app is great. Food looks tasty and nutritious and is varied-wish our boy ate this well at home! So pleased we chose this nursery for both our children.

Our little girl has been attending Little Pioneers for almost 2 years and our son will be joining in the autumn. I can't thank the nursery staff enough for the care and attention they give - I've never had to worry about my daughter being there. As a parent you can walk into your child's nursery room
at any time so you can see what's going on, how clean it is, the activities the children are participating in and the food they are eating. As well as supporting the children with play, learning and developmental milestones, the staff will also support with big changes your child might be going through such as potty training and the arrival of a new sibling.
Communication is clear and frequent via the app and the team are so welcoming and friendly - I remember on our daughter's first day every staff member we encountered on our way to her room knew her name and welcomed her. There's always a quick update on how our daughter's day's been upon pick up and developmental updates on the app.

The staff at Little Pioneers are all wonderful and take excellent care of our wee girl. It doesn't matter who does the handover, they are all aware of what she has been up to, anything that needs passing over as well as being genuinely excited but her development. Key workers Cara and Gina have an especially
close bond with our daughter.
The activities are always varied and interesting for the children and the food is healthy as well. The staff have been super supportive of our potty training as well, something we can keep track of on the app. The app is also great for checking in over the course of the day, seeing how much our daughter ate for lunch as well as updating pick up times and is super easy to use. Staff have consistently been brilliant with our two children, spaces are safe and well maintained and relationship with home has always been positive.
No doubting where our youngest would go after our eldest's experience (he has flourished in Primary School after Nursery from 1 Year-Old) and irrespective
of the natural change in staff our boys have been cared for and developed wonderfully.

My son has been attending this nursery for 18 months and we couldn't be more impressed with little pioneers. The staff are fantastic, my son is currently in little creators 1 and they do an incredible job at creating fun sensory activities for all the children. We get personalised updates at every collection
about what he's been up to as well as ad hoc photos uploaded on the associate family app. The staff are personable and committed - leaving our son here feels safe and it feels as though they are genuinely interested in the children's individuals personalities and development. They also did a fantastic job in supporting our toddlers potty training journey. I've got nothing negative at all to say about little pioneers, it's a fantastic nursery we would recommend to anyone. Our daughter had her last day at Little Pioneers yesterday as she begins reception next week. It has been a wonderful three years watching her grow from a 10-month-old baby into a curious and confident four-year-old - and so much of that is thanks to the dedication of the staff and management at Little
Pioneers.
I've often wondered how the team at the front desk manage to know every child's name, greeting them on a first-name basis each day. It's more than just a nice touch - it shows how genuinely they know and care for the children.
This review is really a note of gratitude: thank you for the role you've played in our daughter's life, and for the continued care you are now giving to her little brother.

We are so pleased with the care and attention to development the staff at the nursery have provided to our son since he joined at 10 months old and is now turning 4. They have been consistent throughout. Staff are friendly and approachable and you can tell they have a passion for what they do.
We
are also sending our new baby to this nursery when the time comes and I have no reservations about it like I did with my first boy as I know he will be well looked after and the development and skills they learn are brilliant.

The team deal effortlessly with changes in staff members and introducing themselves to be new key workers and speedily get to know the children. Caters very well to manage allergies and dietry requirements, outstanding in fact. Very well managed since we've been using the nursery for 5.5 years. Will
be sad not to walk in each day come September once our youngest leaves preschool to see all the smiling faces and greetings at both ends of the day from the team. Always friendly and will try and pop in to say "hi" every now and again when the time comes!

I have worked at the nursery since the day it opened in 2003 and have loved developing it into the amazing place it is today! I have over 30 years of experience in childcare and use my knowledge and experience to build the team and the nursery to be the best.


As a mum of 2, I know what things are important to families and cascade these thoughts and feelings to the team so they get a true understanding and empathy towards our families.

I was first introduced to the Little Pioneers nursery when I completed a placement here as part of my college training back in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, so much so that I applied for a position and became a colleague as soon as I completed my training! I have worked my way up from Nursery Nurse to Room Manager, Third in charge and most recently I have taken on the role of the Deputy Manger. I worked in the 2-3s and under 2 ages mainly. I am the nursery SENCO and enjoy supporting families that need a little bit more support for their child. I work full time so you will get to see me every day, I'm always happy to stop for a chat and if you need to pick my brains about something then I'm here for you!
