Yew Trees Nursery in Axbridge is surrounded by fields and countryside in rural Somerset.

The staff offer children a safe, happy and nurturing environment. Classrooms provide cosy corners, stimulating resources and areas for children to explore and learn within their individual capabilities and at their own pace. The outdoor environment comprises of garden areas and meadows where the children can enjoy growing and cultivating plants and vegetables, help to look after the chickens, explore nature and gain an interest in the world around them.

Yew Trees Nursery prides itself on developing strong, curious, confident and unique children. They believe that being willing to ‘have a go’ and learn from mistakes will give the children a head start in learning.

My granddaughter has thrived at Yew Tree Nursery she is in Little Learner now and her key worker is amazing. She understands her and encourages her to negotiate and learn about her world and the world around her.

Yew Trees is amazing. My little boy really enjoys everything they do with him. We get updates about his progress and what he has been doing. His keyworker has got a lovely relationship with him that she has worked very hard to build. All the staff are incredibly warm and kind. The children have lots
of opportunities to spend time outside which is brilliant. We are confident that our son is safe, happy and cared for when he is at Yew Tress. We are looking forward to seeing how he develops over his time at Yew Trees.

We love Yew Trees! Our daughter always has the best day there being very busy outside, chasing chickens, bug hunting and embracing all the facilities Yew Trees have to offer. She's always doing something different and enriching every day. Her language development has exploded since joining.
One of
the things we love most is the in-house kitchen staff, who provide 'kitchen diaries' and cook proper meals with seasonal, local produce.
We get lots of photos and updates throughout the day which is really nice.
All the team seem genuinely happy to be there. They're patient, kind and I trust them to have our daughter's best interests at heart. Our daughter bonded with her key worker almost immediately (and our daughter can be quite selective!). Her key worker is fantastic!

I cannot speak highly enough of Yew Trees and the staff, my experience has been exceptional, my daughter’s key worker always goes above and beyond, she is very attentive and her approach to my child’s emotional, mental and physical development means that she is absolutely thriving in the setting.
I
will ask every night for her to tell me something that made her smile and without fail she will mention by name the worker who has been with her that day and the wonderful activities they do.


I could not write a review without mentioning how consistent the nursery has been with its incredible standards, as a parent who has their child full time at the setting and has attended for over a year and has experienced 2 rooms to date, the care, support and attention they have for both the child and the parents is something else.


The ladies from the toddler room were always beyond exceptional as were management and the admin team from the office.

Our little girl has been going to this nursery for nearly three months and we cannot be more pleased. She is currently eight months old and has a lovely time. All the staff are so caring and wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Communication is excellent. They have a great app where you get daily
updates, pictures and can direct message the key workers too. As she was so young when she started, I was worried it would all be too much for her. However, she is thriving and has the best time there five days a week. A big shout out to two staff members in particular for everything they do, her face lights up when she can see you. Thank you to all the other ladies in the Baby Room too. I would highly recommend this nursery. Plus the animals make every day worth smiling. Her little face in the daily pictures make my day and confirm our decision to pick this nursery.

Our baby boy started at Yew Trees in June 2023 and has been absolutely thriving there ever since. His keyworker got to know him very quickly and he loves her and feels so comfortable with her and the other team members there. We have great communication with them throughout the day and they are always
quick to respond to any messages or concerns we have. He goes in happily and he comes out extremely happy too, it's such a weight off our minds to know he's having a blast at nursery and amongst adults he trusts and loves. Could not recommend this nursery enough, it's been the best decision to send him here!

Amazing. I moved my child from another nursery to here and it was the best decision ever. My son has been in the toddler room since January of this year. He absolutely loves it. The staff are all so friendly, they do lots of fantastic things with the children and I have noticed my son's development has been great since starting here. The app is fantastic, updating you on what they have eaten,

I am so happy with Yew Trees Nursery. The Toddler Room provide exceptional care for my twins. Their key workers have made so much effort to get to know their different personalities and provide the support that is specific to their needs. My daughter loves going to nursery, she has a big smile every time she sees her key worker! The nursery staff are brilliant and always listen to any concerns and are always flexible to change the routine to help progress any feeding/napping schedules. The food is perfect, lots of vegetables and fruit
as snacks and my daughter has learnt to love healthy foods because of what she is eating at nursery. The app is second to none and I can see at the touch of a button what my daughter has done everyday and how long she has slept for. Each week the key worker will post a development update which is personalised to the individual child with goals and photos. Overall the nursery has exceeded anything I could have thought we would need from a nursery. Keep up the good work. Thank you!

Our little boy has been going here full-time since he was ten months old. He absolutely loves it. The staff are so caring, we feel that he is properly looked after and encouraged to develop his own personality every day. I love how much they get them outside into the fresh air and all the lovely activities

Our daughter really enjoys her time there. She has a great connection with her primary caregiver and I think she is developing really well from her time there. She sleeps and eats well and loves the amount of outdoor time. They’ve always been really friendly and helpful, taking the time to update us

We were really nervous about our little boy starting nursery, however, the staff have made it very easy. A member of staff is absolutely amazing and our little one gets excited to see her (and the other staff) when he goes into nursery. He has developed well since starting and we feel nursery has really
helped his confidence.
They all seem to really know their stuff and care about the little ones in their care. We get regular updates through the app which is really reassuring as you can see what your little one is getting up to during the day. The staff are always friendly and happy to chat through any changes to routines or developments and are always great if you have any questions.
We love the outside space available! And it is amazing that the children get to spend so much time outside
The staff always seem to work hard at providing different activities for the kids including getting messy and we love the crafts and cards which come home as well.

We've been sending our son to Yew Trees Nursery for the past two years and it's been wonderful. We love that they take the kids outside every day for nature walks, to play in the mud kitchen, help with the chickens, or board the pirate ship. All the staff are amazing. The communication is great, with
daily informal chats and lots of updates through the app. Their patience and kindness when he first started and he/we found it hard, was so helpful. We are very grateful to all the staff for everything they've done for him and highly recommend them.

Yew Trees are a wonderful nursery, my first daughter went through from babies to pre-school and absolutely loved it, she went every day with a smile on her face and always looked forward to it, and she was brilliantly prepared for starting school last Sept. It was natural to reserve a space for my second
daughter as soon as I knew I was expecting! Both my daughters have benefitted massively from the experienced and hugely caring staff. The abundance of outdoor space and activities all year round are great and have really helped my girls to develop; language, confidence, social skills and so much more come on in heaps and bounds! It was the space and nursery setting that first attracted me to Yew Trees, but the staff who cemented my decision. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. My youngest is now in babies and throws herself into the arms of her key worker - she adores her! The staff really do go above and beyond; I can't recommend them highly enough - it made going back to work easier!

Both my son and daughter attended the baby room and the toddler room at Yew Trees. The experience has been fantastic. The children absolutely adored their key workers and loved going in which was a huge relief. The staff all go above and beyond to ensure the children have fun and are happy. They spend
lots of time outdoors which was important to us. The meals sound delicious and healthy. Staff are also really good at communicating with you as parents both via the app and face-to-face. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

After my daughter's previous nursery closed down, we thought it would be difficult for her to settle elsewhere. From day one, the team have made my daughter feel so comfortable, she absolutely loves it here, and I can't recommend them enough.

I currently have my third son attending Yew Trees in the little learner's room. My other two sons have also attended, which shows my confidence in such a wonderful nursery. The transition between rooms has always been seamless, and each key worker has always been super kind and professional. The facilities
at Yew Trees are what really impress me, such a wonderful outside play area and equipment to play on; I love the walks the children go on, and being a lover of nature, I am a huge fan of their ethos of being outside come rain or shine. The daily updates on the app and quick responses to messages are lovely to read. The management is so helpful and has always tried to accommodate extra sessions for me. The food offered is also exceptional, with themed menus and a wonderful variety, accommodating any dietary needs. I would highly recommend this nursery, so much so, when I chose it, I didn't even need to view any others, I just knew it was perfect for our family.

My daughter is at Yew Trees and has been there for over a year. My son also attended for three years. It is an amazing setting with staff who really care about the children and take the time to involve parents. My children learnt so much whilst having fun. My son (8) still talks about his time there
with such happiness. They have been really flexible with me booking additional days and will try to accommodate this when they can, which for a working parent is so helpful.
The food always sounds delicious and varied. Neither of my children has ever complained! They embrace different cultures and traditions, celebrating with specific activities and food. They offer free play involving lots of outdoor time playing in the huge outdoor space, sometimes with the chickens! They go on walks and outings and always come home talking about their day. The staff have become like extended members of the family without even realising it! It will always be a special place for our family.

She leads her team from the ground and can often be found engaged in activities within the rooms, delivering extracurricular activities and role modelling alongside her team.
