Good communication between staff and parents, great updates throughout the day!
Reply from Caroline Taplin, Manager at Wooden House NurseryThank you for taking time to complete a review. The outdoors is important for children and as mentioned we are fortunate to have both an undercover area and garden so children can have fresh air every day whatever the weather. We also like to develop good relationships and communications with our families as it is a key part of supporting a child's settling, learning and development so it is great to hear that we are achieving this.

My daughter, Norah attends Wooden House three days a week. She receives such wonderful care from her key worker and all staff in her room. They are all attentive, engaging and greet her with smiles and excitement each morning. Norah looks forward to attending and always lets us know what she's done,
how much she played. I can't fault the setting. Communication is first class, and like previously stated the care is exceptional.
Reply from Caroline Taplin, Manager at Wooden House NurseryThank you very much for your lovely review. It is nice to hear that Norah is so happy at the setting and lets you know what she has been doing during her day. We are always keen to meet and greet the families and it is important to us that we communicate well to those who are the main carers.

My daughter loves going to Wooden House - ever since she started going we have had no problems with her at drop off and she goes to the staff with her arms outstretched and doesn't look back. I think that says it all! She loves being there, the staff are super diligent and the fact they have dedicated
rooms with air con and black out blinds for sleeping is great as I know not all nurseries have this.

I like the nursery very much as it has many activities and it's great for the children to learn motor skills, life skills and starting their learning for primary School. The nursery does focus week on each child so no one ever feels left out which I think it is important for a child's development.

Barley Wood Nursery

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My child started Barley Wood nursery shortly after his 2nd birthday and had a really rocky start. He was welcomed beautifully by the staff but he was a nervous toddler who struggled with his separation anxiety and took a long time to settle.
The nursery was fantastic with him! Introduced nurture packs
where he had strategies such as timelines for the day, boxes for his special comfort toys from home and regular updates from the staff on the days where he really struggled to even enter nursery! This was all reassuring information to get as a parent. We had regular meetings to discuss his nurture plan and now we are thriving!
He now looks forward to nursery. He has made friends who he talks about at home and really enjoys spending so much time outside exploring. We are no longer on a nurture plan and this is all due to the hard work and dedication from all the staff at Barley wood. Would highly recommend to any parent considering a nursery setting for their child.
Reply from Natalie Purkiss, Head of Childcare at Barley Wood NurseryThank you very much for sharing your experience of Barley Wood Nursery. It is wonderful to see how well your little one has settled and this is such a great example of the way our team support each child as an individual. I am delighted that you felt so supported in those early days and you worked together with the team to reassure your child that he could feel safe and enjoy being in nursery. Thank you again for your high recommendation and we are excited to see him continue to develop his love of learning. Best wishes Natalie

Both my children attend the old potting shed nursery. Both have been met with excellent care from the team. It's a lovely feeling knowing my kids love their time at nursery going into and out of nursery with big smiles on their faces.
The old potting shed are always looking at improving their facilities.
The recent introduction of the apple store as a prime example. It's lovely to see a constant improvement drive, making the best facilities for our children.
The updates are always positive, welcoming and detailed. Knowing what our little ones get up to helps reassure me they're having a great time.
Reply from Lisa Marchent, Manager at The Old Potting Shed NurseryThank you for your very kind review. We are delighted that you and your children have had a positive experience and that they enjoy their time at nursery. We as a company strive to meet the needs of the community where ever we possibly can and expand our services to reflect this. I will pass this feedback onto the teams as they all work so hard to support the children and families and appreciate the feedback given by parents and carers.

Our child likes going to Stepping Stones. They have made some great friends and comes home able to tell us what they have done for the day. They go to the early and late wrap around which works really well for us and our child. Recently they have been doing lots of seasonal things and performed Christmas
songs for parents, which our child loved doing. My wife was able to go but I wasn't, however videos were put up on the app for us to see which way really nice.

We are so glad we chose Wooden House for our daughter's nursery. The nursery has a lovely rural setting with amazing outside space for the children to play. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and are incredibly attentive to all the children's needs. They very much work with the parents to
ensure that your child's needs are met. My daughter struggled when she first started at nursery as she was very shy and introverted around people she didn't know or in unfamiliar environments. The staff were amazing at helping her to settle into nursery and within just two weeks, we'd already noticed a big difference. A few months on, and she has blossomed. She has so much more confidence now and loves interacting with new people. We've even had family remark on the change and we feel that Wooden House has played a big part in this. The app is great and it's lovely to see the activities that they plan for the children. They also spend a lot of time outdoors which I love.
Reply from Caroline Taplin, Manager at Wooden House NurseryMany thanks for your kind review. It has been lovely to see how your daughter has progressed and grown in confidence. My little boy has been going here since last September and we love it. The staff are amazing, all of them are attentive, kind and patient. Information sharing is amazing, we get so much information about his day, both at the gate and through the communication app. Activities seem varied, including lots
of outdoor play, scavenger hunting, sports and exploring. Indoor play often includes structured learning like numbers, letters, and healthy foods. I like the support with teeth cleaning at the moment. But also lots of fun, with dancing and music. We love it, can stress enough how kind and supportive the staff are.

Our son loves being outdoors, so the rural setting and amazing outside space at Wooden House were what first drew us in and really sets them apart from other nurseries in and around Tiverton. The staff are so friendly and caring, and we love getting regular updates through the app each day.
Having previously
had a childminder and after relocating, this was a big change for our 2 year old - he sometimes finds drop-offs hard, but the team have been brilliant at helping him (and us!) through this. We know he's happy there and really enjoys his days. His communication skills have also come on so much since starting 4 months ago too. We're really glad we chose Wooden House.
Reply from Caroline Taplin, Manager at Wooden House NurseryThank you for taking the time to complete a review.
