Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been providing quality childcare since 1997. In October 2023, the nursery was awarded a "Good" rating in all categories in their Ofsted inspection.

The nursery offers children a happy, safe and nurturing environment where staff support and encourage children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Kings Castle is located in Tuckton, Bournemouth and is ideally situated for children from Littledown, Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe.

The nursery welcomes children aged 0-5, offering flexible sessions, funded places, separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school, dedicated sleep rooms and a fully enclosed garden with play area, outdoor classroom and toddler garden.

Children aged 2+ can also attend KINGS LODGE, the nature-based annexe on Tuckton Meadow. Kings Lodge offers an abundance of outdoor, nature-based activities .

A team of skilled and professional staff follow the Montessori approach to provide children with a calm and stimulating environment where they can build confidence and independence, explore their interests, make new friendships and be ready for all that life has in store for them.

I could not recommend this nursery more, the staff are amazing. My son has been here for more than 2 years now and I couldn't be happier with his experience there, he loves going and the manager is just a star. All the staff I've met have been happy, helpful and approachable and most importantly to
me they really enjoy their jobs and it shows! Definitely the best setting my son has ever attended and he's been to 4! I know my son is in great hands here because he's always happy to go and chatting happily about his day after. They are amazing! 5 star place!

Kings Castle is a great Montessori setting with kind and caring teachers who would go above and beyond for the peace of your mind, and your child's comfort. Both my children have been at Kings Castle for years and we are always happy with the nursery. My youngest is leaving for the big boy school soon
and with the help from his teacher he is ready for a new challenge. We can’t thank all staff enough for preparing him over the years.

Kings Castle is a really wonderful nursery. My three children have attended.
Currently, my three year old has settled in very well and goes in happily to nursery. He has an expressive language delay, but since he joined Kings Castle in January he has come on leaps and bounds and is improving daily.
I
love the Montessori setting and so does my son. It really encourages independence in the children and I love the fact there isn’t a plastic toy in sight.
The manager and staff are incredibly caring and really good at listening to any concerns I may have, acting upon them very quickly.
The outdoor space is a great feature of the setting.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kings to anyone looking for a nursery.

Kings Castle has been part of our lives for 4 years, and we couldn’t be happier with everything they have done for our children.
My daughter runs in every day without a care in the world. The environment is so welcoming, as are all of the staff. I’m always amazed with what they’ve done during the
day and how excitedly my daughter tells me what they’ve been up to.
The staff are all brilliant and take a genuine interest in every child. Even those that have left and come along on the nursery drop off! The warmth and kindness they show is incredible, and I know my daughter is in very safe hands. I would 100% recommend Kings Castle to everyone

Simply the best choice we could ever make to come to this amazing nursery. Our daughter totally loving it! This is the place to gain knowledge, learn how to respect, understand, love, support each other as well as have fun.
To be honest, makes us all sad and sentimental she has to leave very soon as
starting school in September.

This is the perfect nursery to send your child to. The staff treat the children as their own and are also supporting to the family. I love this place and I’m heartbroken my daughter has to grow up and go to school this year. I will miss each and every member of staff. It’s a clean and friendly atmosphere

Our little boy was three when he joined nursery last September. We wanted him to have a "stepping stone" into big school. All of the teachers and staff are patient, kind and show a good understanding of each child's individual needs. My little boy is very settled and content at Kings. He feels safe
and enjoys all aspects of the learning environment. Would definitely recommend this nursery. As far as support goes for us as parents, I feel that we are kept in the loop with his development, strengths and weaknesses and we work together with the staff to ensure his time at nursery is effective and worthwhile. Any concerns or worries I have, I feel assured that I have the help and support from staff.

Kings is the most fabulous nursery, both our children have been there from age 1-4, through all the stages of baby to preschooler and have loved it so much. I remember when we first looked round. Of the many settings we saw, only at Kings did my eldest leave my side and wanted to get stuck in straight
away.
The wonderful people that work and run Kings are amazing. My son (who is still there and due to leave in August for big school) is so ready for the huge milestone of school and has been prepared and supported by these fabulous women who he loves so much. I will miss the nursery being part of our lives too as we move onto school life for our littlest. I want to thank you all at Kings and recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone. You will be fabulously lucky if your child benefits from being part of this wonderful nursery.

Our daughter is finishing her last few weeks at King's after being there since she was 11 months old. I don't have the right words to express our gratitude to the managers and the team of amazing teachers. Not only have they looked after our daughter but they have also looked after us as a family during
a difficult couple of years. Our daughter has thrived from day one and they have prepared her for school brilliantly. We have a very bright and confident little girl and this is mostly because of Kings. It will be with a heavy heart and much sadness when we have to say goodbye.

My children have been happily going to Kings since 2016.
It is a very safe, caring and nurturing nursery, leaving you with no worries whilst you’re working. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It will be sad to leave.

Wonderful little family, very caring, supportive and professional team. My little one has been with them for the last two years and really enjoys all the activities, she has become so independent and missed them a lot during lockdown. Highly recommended.

Kings Castle has been the most amazing nursery for my children. I cannot praise them enough for the first-class education and care my children have received.
They have gone above and beyond all expectations from the moment I first visited. Not only recognising the needs of my children but also the
needs of our family as a whole.
One of my children received an ASD diagnosis and the staff have ensured we received the best support available.
The staff are all, without exception, the loveliest people to hope to look after my precious ones. Totally dedicated to their work, both professional and warm. From the management, all the way down. We will be heartbroken to have to move on.
Kings Castle has offered the best possible start for my children that I could have dreamt of. I cannot recommend enough.

Our daughter has been at Kings for three years now and since she started right through to her upcoming last day before ‘big school’ we have been constantly blown away by her development. The teachers at Kings have supported us as parents to develop our daughter the Montessori way in an environment she
has thrived in.
They have her practising the basics on writing, spelling, maths plus her independent learning on aspects like courteous behaviour, kindness and sharing has been a joy to witness. Weekly yoga has been a source of great entertainment after nursery and her love for the teachers and friends has made us appreciate what an incredible experience Kings has been.
We will be starting our son in September to go on the same journey as his big sister and I know our daughter will miss being there.
I would thoroughly recommend Kings Castle because of the amazing teachers, the lovely facilities and the style of education at that age is perfect for their development.

Its been a lovely four years journey since our little girl joined Kings (she is sadly leaving to go to big school) and as a parent, I could not be happier about everything Kings Castle has taught my daughter. It's a happy place to be and the teachers are incredibly amazing (they really helped her development
with speech, potty training and all the Montessori learning, which is great). I highly recommend this nursery to all parents. With the recent Covid-19 situation, regardless of the new regulation and changes, they have all worked hard to maintain the most important thing: humanity. Love to all from Kings Castle.

I cannot stress highly enough the level of support and warmth demonstrated by all the members of staff at this setting. We are always kept well informed and up to date of any developments. Our child has developed so well during his time with them and any issues that may have arisen have always been

Absolute fabulous nursery. Would highly recommend. The staff are so caring and would do whatever it takes to make your child happy and enjoy their day at nursery. Kings Castle has been a massive part of our lives and most importantly the development of our beautiful daughter. She has been in their care since she was 12 months old. She is now 4 and she has grown to be a polite, inquisitive, intelligent and healthy little girl.
The staff are so caring, and they
help the children develop by encouraging their own interests so the kids remain engaged and entertained whilst learning everything they need to, to prepare them for the next stages of their lives.
The staff were also hugely supportive (and flexible) when I was diagnosed with cancer. They went above and beyond to help my family and I get through such a horrific situation.
I genuinely cannot recommend them highly enough and it will be a sad day when our daughter has to move on to the next stage of her schooling.

Amanda

Amanda Preston

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amanda has been at Kings Castle for over 12 years and has progressed from working in the Lulworth Pre-School Room to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, for the past 5 years.


Amanda was a parent of King's Castle and when the time came for her son to move on to a big school, Amanda couldn't leave King's behind.


She found a deep love and passion for Montessori, which she studied at a nearby college.


Amanda is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Fire Marshall.

Beckie

Beckie Dolan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2008

Beckie has been at Kings Castle for 15 years and has progressed from a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to Toddler Room Supervisor and Deputy Manager.


Beckie is also a Scout Leader outside of the nursery and has extensive knowledge of outdoor learning activities and group learning activities as well as an abundance of enthusiasm for Early Years!

Fabiana

Fabiana Vieira - Tao

Job Title: Lulworth Pre-School Room Supervisor Joined: 2012

Fabiana has been at Kings Castle for 11 years now and has progressed from working in the Pre-School as a Montessori Directress, to Room Supervisor.


Fab has a Montessori Diploma from a nearby college.
Fab also has 2 children of her own, one of whom currently attends the nursery.

Calum

Calum Smith

Job Title: Kings Lodge Manager Joined: 2016

Calum has been at the nursery for over 7 years now and has progressed from a Montessori Director in the Lulworth Pre-School Room, to Room Supervisor and now Manager of Kings Lodge.


Calum holds a degree in Primary Education and a QTS (Qualifies teacher status) gained from the University of Northampton.


Calum is also an "SEN Representative" and works closely with the nursery SENCO to support children at Kings Lodge.
