Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been providing quality childcare since 1997. In October 2023, the nursery was awarded a "Good" rating in all categories in their Ofsted inspection.

The nursery offers children a happy, safe and nurturing environment where staff support and encourage children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Kings Castle is located in Tuckton, Bournemouth and is ideally situated for children from Littledown, Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe.

The nursery welcomes children aged 0-5, offering flexible sessions, funded places, separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school, dedicated sleep rooms and a fully enclosed garden with play area, outdoor classroom and toddler garden.

Children aged 2+ can also attend KINGS LODGE, the nature-based annexe on Tuckton Meadow. Kings Lodge offers an abundance of outdoor, nature-based activities .

A team of skilled and professional staff follow the Montessori approach to provide children with a calm and stimulating environment where they can build confidence and independence, explore their interests, make new friendships and be ready for all that life has in store for them.

A brilliant nursery where my two children run through the door each morning and wave goodbye happily to me.
A fantastic team of staff who are all dedicated to the Montessori teaching methods, communicate very well with parents and children and go above and beyond to offer support inside and outside
of the nursery.

We waited for there to be an available position for our son after reading great reviews and visiting Kings Castle Montessori.
It did not let us down. Our son absolutely loves his nursery and teachers and always has a smile on his face at pick up and lots to tell us about his day.
We would not hesitate
to recommend Kings Castle and hope that our newborn son will also attend in a couple of years time.

Cannot fault Kings Castle for their program, dedication and teaching. Our eldest attended for 2.5 years and was beyond ready for school when they left Kings, and we are in no doubt that they have excelled ever since because of what and how they were taught.
Of course, we would not have chosen another
nursery, and our youngest is now attending; their difference in speech, motor skills and attentiveness within a matter of weeks is outstanding.
The excellent, attentive and friendly leadership and staff are a real credit to themselves; they operate a safe and hugely positive nursery, which brings out the best in children through the Montessori methodology.
Beyond highly recommend, would give a 11/10 if possible!

My second daughter started at Kings Castle nursery aged 10 months after being born on the second day of lockdown 2020. I was worried about how she'd settle after being at home with just us for a whole year but I needn't be worried at all. The staff are just wonderful, so warm and welcoming and really
helped her transition and to settle well. Lots of love and affection, distractions and play. She was doing 3 full days after just 4 settle sessions. Now launches herself into nursery and is so happy when I come and collect her. The environment is amazing for the little ones and they all have access to outside space which is so very Important. I send my own food in which they will heat up for her but all the snacks are well balanced and healthy. I regularly receive artwork from her daily activities and love hearing about her day. The nursery have a fab parent app so communication is so easy and they share photos with you too. I'm so glad she loves it there. Peace of mind when working.

As a family, we love Kings Castle. Their love for the children is seen in abundance and everything they strive for is to look after, nurture and educate our children. The Montessori approach helps develop children into being independent, kind, loving and to have a passion for learning. The nursery not
only supports their emotional and social development but also prepares them beautifully for school. My eldest and, soon to be, middle child will have gone to school without any concerns about not being ready. We can’t thank all the staff enough. We will not be hesitating in sending our youngest to Kings Castle in due course.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. My little boy has been attending Kings Castle since he was 6 months old, he's now in his last few months before big school. We had 4 nurseries lined up when initially choosing and Kings Castle stood out by far, the atmosphere of happy children, great staff, super
clean and homely. My little boy absolutely loves his nursery, the staff are so encouraging and have been so supportive throughout. They are absolutely lovely and the best team to have around children, I can't fault them in any way and so thankful for what they have done to prepare my little one for his bright future.

My son has been with King's Castle for just over 2 years, he absolutely loves going to nursery which is always a relief for any parent. The staff are so attentive and caring, always friendly and willing to help, they always update me on his progress. They are excellent with his allergies so I don’t
need to worry about that. He has come on so much developmentally with his language and confidence and is excelling in most areas, which I am over the moon about. I would highly recommend King's Castle to other parents.

Kings Castle are fab, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
They care for your children with a vast array of knowledge. They come home with - countries, volcanoes and earthquakes, workings of the human body, food skills - this list is endless. I’m always impressed and my daughter loves her time there.

I can not recommend Kings Castle enough. After trying a different nursery that did not work out I was apprehensive however the team were so calm and understanding I felt immediately at ease.
From the time that my daughter has attended they have been so supportive of not only her need but that of myself.
The team go above and beyond to make sure the children are safe, comfortable and happy all the time.
My daughter has made real connections with the other children aswell as the team at the nursery.
I am very grateful for all that they have done and are doing for her. Once again can not recommend them enough truly the best nursery around.

Kings Castle has been amazing and very supportive during this difficult period with COVID-19. They’ve always been amazing but they’ve definitely gone above and beyond for me to feel comfortable as a parent to send my little one into nursery with no hesitation. I believe I speak for all parents when

We brought our daughter in after the quarantine restrictions were lifted and were a bit nervous. The staff at Kings Castle Nursery have taken careful precautions to keep our children safe and happy while they're there. I was given a full tour and details for each section and program prior to signing
up so I had a good idea of where I was sending my child and what to expect. All of the staff are welcoming and pleasant and run the school very well! They did a wonderful job of helping my daughter acclimate to a new school and friends.

Our little girl has been at Kings Castle since she was thirteen months old and is now on the verge of leaving to start school. Placing her in the care of the team there remains one of the very best decisions we made for our little lady.
The King Castle team are a like-minded, caring lot - and our child
loves to go to spend the day with them. She’s learnt so much, she surprises us daily. And whilst we’re sad that she’ll be leaving, the team have prepared the journey onwards with such care that our girl is excited to be starting the next leg of her personal journey.
I cannot recommend the team highly enough - genuinely the best decision we’ve made for shaping our child’s future prospects.

The nursery and all the staff here are wonderful and have always gone above and beyond to ensure all the needs of my child have been met. Choosing this nursery has been great for our son's development. The staff are consistently wonderful and very caring. They clearly love their work. The environment is nurturing and the Montessori philosophy underpins everything they do. When our daughter is old enough she'll be attending here too.

Amanda

Amanda Preston

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amanda has been at Kings Castle for over 12 years and has progressed from working in the Lulworth Pre-School Room to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, for the past 5 years.


Amanda was a parent of King's Castle and when the time came for her son to move on to a big school, Amanda couldn't leave King's behind.


She found a deep love and passion for Montessori, which she studied at a nearby college.


Amanda is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Fire Marshall.

Beckie

Beckie Dolan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2008

Beckie has been at Kings Castle for 15 years and has progressed from a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to Toddler Room Supervisor and Deputy Manager.


Beckie is also a Scout Leader outside of the nursery and has extensive knowledge of outdoor learning activities and group learning activities as well as an abundance of enthusiasm for Early Years!

Fabiana

Fabiana Vieira - Tao

Job Title: Lulworth Pre-School Room Supervisor Joined: 2012

Fabiana has been at Kings Castle for 11 years now and has progressed from working in the Pre-School as a Montessori Directress, to Room Supervisor.


Fab has a Montessori Diploma from a nearby college.
Fab also has 2 children of her own, one of whom currently attends the nursery.

Calum

Calum Smith

Job Title: Kings Lodge Manager Joined: 2016

Calum has been at the nursery for over 7 years now and has progressed from a Montessori Director in the Lulworth Pre-School Room, to Room Supervisor and now Manager of Kings Lodge.


Calum holds a degree in Primary Education and a QTS (Qualifies teacher status) gained from the University of Northampton.


Calum is also an "SEN Representative" and works closely with the nursery SENCO to support children at Kings Lodge.
