Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been providing quality childcare since 1997. In October 2023, the nursery was awarded a "Good" rating in all categories in their Ofsted inspection.

The nursery offers children a happy, safe and nurturing environment where staff support and encourage children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Kings Castle is located in Tuckton, Bournemouth and is ideally situated for children from Littledown, Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe.

The nursery welcomes children aged 0-5, offering flexible sessions, funded places, separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school, dedicated sleep rooms and a fully enclosed garden with play area, outdoor classroom and toddler garden.

Children aged 2+ can also attend KINGS LODGE, the nature-based annexe on Tuckton Meadow. Kings Lodge offers an abundance of outdoor, nature-based activities .

A team of skilled and professional staff follow the Montessori approach to provide children with a calm and stimulating environment where they can build confidence and independence, explore their interests, make new friendships and be ready for all that life has in store for them.

Kings Castle Montessori is a 5 star, outstanding nursery! Both my daughter and son have been at Kings Castle Nursery since they were babies, now school ready. They have blossomed into well mannered, respectful, worldly, confident and kind kids. I couldn’t ask for anything more than this! We love that
every teacher at Kings have their own unique cultural backgrounds and experience which influences the way they teach and guide the kids. My son came home one day talking about Diwali, the lights festival! He also made his own light out of clay. Another day my daughter baked Australian ANZAC biscuits with her friends, as it was an Australian themed week. Then another week my son came home talking about the England football team and the World Cup!
My kids have learnt life long basic skills which we have noticed they do at home ie cleaning after themselves, putting toys away where they belong and preparing their own snack.
We are really going to miss the warm, kind-hearted staff at Kings.

We can’t recommend Kings Castle highly enough. All of the staff are amazingly patient and kind and our daughter is learning so much and growing in confidence. The way they have handled the pandemic mess has been excellent and they have always had the safety and care of the children at the forefront
of every decision. Thank you for everything you do.

We have 2 boys at Kings currently (and throughout the hard last couple of years), one is at the end of his journey and one just starting and I could not recommend Kings more highly! Both boys clearly enjoy nursery as they enter and leave and both learn things that surprise and impress us every day.
The nursery is also so supportive of our working lives which we could not be more thankful for.

We decided to join the Kings Castle Montessori nursery as we heard a lot of good opinions about it in past. Personally, I love the location. Not only is close to where we live but also local to grandparents. I like how the building is situated not too close to the road and you can't really see the back
of it where kids play. Gives it that extra privacy and security. Our child has only been at Kings Castle Montessori for few months, for few hours weekly but we can see how much more confident he has become. He has learnt so much so far! Each time he comes back from nursery he knows something new and exciting!
Staff are great! Even when affected by covid19 they are doing their best to keep children safe and happy. Giving them and their parents exactly the same amount of time and attention - always with a friendly attitude. The classrooms are clean, tidy and full of exciting and educational toys/learning equipment/books etc.

Both of my daughters have attended Kings Castle and have (and continue to) excel and thrive in the caring environment.


My eldest attended from when she was a baby and my next daughter, from when she was 3.


The team are fantastic and have got to know each of my children and supported and cared

for them when I have been unable to due to work commitments.


I would highly recommend this nursery and its Montessori philosophy.

My son has been in the preschool room at Kings Castle for 1 term now and absolutely loves it. The teachers are amazing and always give us updates of what he has been doing that day. I definitely feel that they are preparing him well for school with lots of independent learning as well as social and

Both of our children went to Kings from when they were 1 year old and did a variety of part-time and full-time hours over the course of their time there. Kings is the most amazing, loving and caring childcare setting. The children’s safety, individual development and emotional needs are at the centre
of any and all decisions the nursery makes. They have kept parents informed and engaged during the difficult and challenging times of COVID and kept cheerful in the face of the ever-changing rules the government made as well as pushing to keep the setting open to ensure the ongoing development and nurturing of the children in their care.
Words can not express the love our children, and we feel for all of the staff at Kings and anyone whose child is lucky enough to attend there, will grow to their fullest potential under the guidance and support of all of the staff at Kings.

Kings Castle has been looking after our two boys for 4 and a half years now, with our youngest son still currently attending. It is an excellent nursery with many enriching activities available for the children and very nurturing and attentive staff. All the key workers that our sons have had have been

My eldest daughter went to this nursery and is now flourishing at school due to such high standard early years care and now my youngest is currently at Kings. My son has recently graduated from Kings after 3 delightful years there. You will be hard-pushed to find a more loving and caring setting for your child. The staff here genuinely love what they do and the passion is fully reflected in their efforts and energy towards the children. A lot of time and

Our son started at Kings when he was 1 year old and what a journey it has been for us all. I cannot believe that today it was his last day at the setting. Our son was diagnosed with ASD and all the staff have worked extremely hard to accommodate his special education needs. The SENCo was so helpful
throughout the process of the EHCP. Our son's 1:1 worker has been amazing with our son since she started a year ago. All the other staff have been great too. The Nursery Manager has been fantastic and I can't thank her enough for all the support and for ensuring all was in place to meet his needs. We had several meetings in the last 2 years following our son's diagnosis to talk through the challenges and how they could support him. Also, they have liaised with all professionals involved. Kings Castle will be forever in our hearts.

My daughter attended the nursery summer 2021. The care she received was outstanding, the staff are super friendly and patient in helping her to settle in which she did very quickly. Just by attending a few days a week she came on leaps and bounds in so many ways. I really couldn’t of asked for a better
nursery and always felt at ease dropping her off knowing she was in good hands. Thankyou to all the staff at kings castle Montessori.

There are not enough words to describe how I feel about Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School and all of the wonderful staff within it.
All I can say is that any child who goes here will be loved, cared for and protected as if they were family themselves.
Every nursery teacher and all of the management
staff go above and beyond their job role.
I don’t know how to thank them enough!
They have a passion to ensure the best is done for every child.
Furthermore, all staff have a warmth a child loves and the kindness every parent wants when they leave their child in a setting.
My daughter has been taken care of so well and helped more than I could ever wish for as a mother.
I will always feel so lucky to have found Kings Castle and so eternally grateful for the staff within it who care deeply for each child and family.
I would recommend Kings Castle every day and 100 times more.

Kings Castle is amazing. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our energetic boy. He loves going to nursery every day and he learned and grew so much. The staff are wonderful, they do an amazing job every day (even during this difficult time of pandemic). They really do care about the well-being
of all the children. I am really sad that we cannot send our younger boy there too (it doesn't work for us anymore driving so far away for drop off and pick up, we live half an hour drive away from the setting). We can't thank them enough for the work they do and we will miss them dearly. We hope this review will help parents to choose Kings Castle as we can't recommend them enough!

Wonderful setting! My son loves being outdoors - the garden set up is very impressive as there's so many stations equipped for them to learn and have fun while doing so. We are very happy with this nursery and all it has to offer.

We are very happy with this Montessori nursery. Our child has been in the Baby room for 8 months now and is now moving to the toddler room (based on her development, not age only). The staff there are so professional and kind and lovely, so baby-oriented.

Kings Castle is such a caring and wonderful nursery. Both of our boys currently attend the setting, one in the baby room and one in the pre-school room. The staff are so wonderful in keeping us informed of the child’s day-to-day progress and development. They have a true passion and commitment to the
role they play. The nursery did such a tremendous job during lockdown to keep the children safe and keeping us informed of everything that was going on. I really do think of them as an extended family to our boys.

I recently asked my little boy, who is currently in the pre-school rooms of Kings, what his baby sister will like most about the nursery when she is big enough to go. I think his answer - "the teachers" - says it all. ln addition to all of the amazing activities inside and out, and the beautiful environment,
it is the teachers that make this nursery outstanding. My son loves going and I know he has a brilliant time there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery.

Amanda

Amanda Preston

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amanda has been at Kings Castle for over 12 years and has progressed from working in the Lulworth Pre-School Room to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, for the past 5 years.


Amanda was a parent of King's Castle and when the time came for her son to move on to a big school, Amanda couldn't leave King's behind.


She found a deep love and passion for Montessori, which she studied at a nearby college.


Amanda is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Fire Marshall.

Beckie

Beckie Dolan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2008

Beckie has been at Kings Castle for 15 years and has progressed from a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to Toddler Room Supervisor and Deputy Manager.


Beckie is also a Scout Leader outside of the nursery and has extensive knowledge of outdoor learning activities and group learning activities as well as an abundance of enthusiasm for Early Years!

Fabiana

Fabiana Vieira - Tao

Job Title: Lulworth Pre-School Room Supervisor Joined: 2012

Fabiana has been at Kings Castle for 11 years now and has progressed from working in the Pre-School as a Montessori Directress, to Room Supervisor.


Fab has a Montessori Diploma from a nearby college.
Fab also has 2 children of her own, one of whom currently attends the nursery.

Calum

Calum Smith

Job Title: Kings Lodge Manager Joined: 2016

Calum has been at the nursery for over 7 years now and has progressed from a Montessori Director in the Lulworth Pre-School Room, to Room Supervisor and now Manager of Kings Lodge.


Calum holds a degree in Primary Education and a QTS (Qualifies teacher status) gained from the University of Northampton.


Calum is also an "SEN Representative" and works closely with the nursery SENCO to support children at Kings Lodge.
