Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been providing quality childcare since 1997. In October 2023, the nursery was awarded a "Good" rating in all categories in their Ofsted inspection.

The nursery offers children a happy, safe and nurturing environment where staff support and encourage children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Kings Castle is located in Tuckton, Bournemouth and is ideally situated for children from Littledown, Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe.

The nursery welcomes children aged 0-5, offering flexible sessions, funded places, separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school, dedicated sleep rooms and a fully enclosed garden with play area, outdoor classroom and toddler garden.

Children aged 2+ can also attend KINGS LODGE, the nature-based annexe on Tuckton Meadow. Kings Lodge offers an abundance of outdoor, nature-based activities .

A team of skilled and professional staff follow the Montessori approach to provide children with a calm and stimulating environment where they can build confidence and independence, explore their interests, make new friendships and be ready for all that life has in store for them.

I couldn't ask more from this nursery. My daughter left eight years ago and now have another child currently there. There was never a second thought about which nursery I would be sending my 2nd child to after my daughter's amazing experience at King's. My second child has many allergies, and I always
feel he is in safe hands and well looked after. The manager and the team at Kings are amazing, and couldn't ask for a better place to send my children. I would highly recommend Kings Castle to anyone.

The most genuine, lovely and caring staff, would recommend this nursery to anyone. Everyone is so welcoming and informative and my daughter always comes away smiling from her days. Hearing what they do in the days with them is so lovely and the fact it's an all weather nursery is great as my daughter
loves to be outside! If I could give higher than five stars I would!

Our child has been with Kings Castle for a couple of months and he has settled in to the setting brilliantly. The team are all superb and have really gotten to know and understand him, helping him flourish and grow. We couldn’t be happier.

I couldn’t recommend Kings Castle more highly as a nursery. Both of my boys have thrived there. The staff are caring and nurturing, and they have both left ready for school. It’s a happy, vibrant place where they are always looking at how they can continue to improve to make things even better for the

My youngest child has just left Kings Castle and we could not have been happier with the care our children were given whilst they attended the setting. The staff were supportive, receptive and nurturing to our children's needs. The lodge was a great favourite and welcome addition too. The hot meals
were varied, healthy and encouraged our children to eat outside of their comfort zones. We are very grateful to all the staff who are involved with the nursery and the time they dedicate to looking after the children they are entrusted with.

Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School goes above and beyond what is required for a nursery. Sadly, our journey is coming to an end after 7 years. Both my girls have attended Kings and have flourished, thrived and excelled under their love, care and guidance. I never had any worries about leaving them
so young as the staff treated them like they were their own. It is clear they all love the children and would do anything for them. Kings Lodge has opened which has made the Kings experience more amazing. It brings together the Montessori element with forest school and my youngest is always so excited for her Lodge day. When the children get into the preschool, the adults are amazing at preparing them for their school journey with the use of the upstairs classroom. This was shown on our recent transition to school when all the children happily ran into their new setting, full of confidence. I have known the manager for 10 years-she is an exceptional manager: putting the children at the heart of everything. I highly recommended Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School!

Both of our boys have attended this nursery and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. All the staff are very good at what they do making for a great nursery.
The latest addition of the lodge is a lovely way for the children to interact with nature and explore the surrounding area on
their doorstep.

Our family journey will be coming to an end soon after 6 continuous years and we are really sad to say goodbye. Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been a huge and important part of our lives and both children have absolutely loved their time there and flourished. We feel so lucky to have found
such a wonderful nursery, with loving staff, an amazing educational ethos and excellent facilities. The atmosphere at the nursery is always positive, with children happy and busy enjoying child led activities to support and encourage their independence and development. The lodge is an excellent addition to the nursery, where the children get to spend quality time exploring nature and spending time outdoors. It has definitely been the highlight of their week. I strongly believe both children were able to reach their full potential with the guidance and support from Kings and I thank everyone for all their care and attention to my children

My little girl has been there since before she was one, and has loved every minute (she is three and a half years now). She really looks forward to going and gets really excited by their outdoor part of the nursery, based at Ilford playing fields.
She has learnt so much and keeps surprising us by doing/saying
various things super early, which is no doubt down to the quality of this nursery.
Staff are friendly, helpful, and all-around superstars. We will be sending our second there.

From my initial telephone conversation with the manager when we were looking for the right nursery for our daughter, we instantly had a good feeling and this was reaffirmed when we visited for the first time. That was almost two years ago, our daughter continues to thrive and absolutely loves going.
The variety of activities, curriculum and level of care are outstanding.
The recent introduction of Kings Lodge is an amazing, additional complimentary resource that the children love.
My husband and I always recommend Kings Castle to anyone looking for a nursery for their children.

My child is very happy at Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School. We have three children so have been to a fair few parent's evenings but I have to say Kings by far was the most comprehensive and detailed one, and showed how much they clearly understood and nurtured my child through his learning there.
It is a wonderful nursery and a true Montessori nursery as well.

Kings Castle has been amazing at helping with the learning and development of our son and prior to this our daughter. The girls in the baby room are definitely one of the biggest parts of my little boy's nursery journey. He loves each of them so much, the care they show towards him and the way his face lights up when he sees them, is so special. He is so happy and content around them and has learnt so much already
in a short space of time! His physical development, especially by being able to explore the ramp and step and window steps. He loves to climb!

Bit of a rocky start with issues around illness and medication and a miss communication between staff and myself. But since that, all has gone really well and my son has really settled into nursery life and has such a fun time. I have noticed things he has been learning at school around dates, numbers
and time, he has an awareness of this that is so advanced for a toddler. I have also noticed that he has been sounding out the ends of his words pronouncing the end syllables repeatedly and making the sounds.
Parent's evening was a joy and I came away one very proud mama. The room staff are amazing and they know my little one so well I am so happy that he is supported and nurtured.

An absolutely reliable, incredibly clean and well-organized nursery, where children are fully taken care of according to the needs of the children. Both of my sons (twins) loved going here and discovering new things every day, either in the garden or during classes or during walks. It was our best choice
that the boys could go here.

My daughter currently attends Kings, and my son did also until going to school last year, and both have had a really lovely experience. The nursery has been a wonderful environment for them to flourish and prepare them for school. My daughter particularly has enjoyed the opportunity to increase her
independence with everyday tasks. The staff are kind, caring and compassionate to children as well as parents. Both my children were supported by their key workers, and during parents' evening, it was lovely to hear how well they know my children and shared comprehensive updates on their developments and learning styles as well as the tailored activities they are supporting them with.
I couldn't recommend this nursery enough; they have been nothing but fantastic. The nursery is led brilliantly by the manager and deputy, who take time to know and support all the children and parents.

Amanda

Amanda Preston

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amanda has been at Kings Castle for over 12 years and has progressed from working in the Lulworth Pre-School Room to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, for the past 5 years.


Amanda was a parent of King's Castle and when the time came for her son to move on to a big school, Amanda couldn't leave King's behind.


She found a deep love and passion for Montessori, which she studied at a nearby college.


Amanda is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Fire Marshall.

Beckie

Beckie Dolan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2008

Beckie has been at Kings Castle for 15 years and has progressed from a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to Toddler Room Supervisor and Deputy Manager.


Beckie is also a Scout Leader outside of the nursery and has extensive knowledge of outdoor learning activities and group learning activities as well as an abundance of enthusiasm for Early Years!

Fabiana

Fabiana Vieira - Tao

Job Title: Lulworth Pre-School Room Supervisor Joined: 2012

Fabiana has been at Kings Castle for 11 years now and has progressed from working in the Pre-School as a Montessori Directress, to Room Supervisor.


Fab has a Montessori Diploma from a nearby college.
Fab also has 2 children of her own, one of whom currently attends the nursery.

Calum

Calum Smith

Job Title: Kings Lodge Manager Joined: 2016

Calum has been at the nursery for over 7 years now and has progressed from a Montessori Director in the Lulworth Pre-School Room, to Room Supervisor and now Manager of Kings Lodge.


Calum holds a degree in Primary Education and a QTS (Qualifies teacher status) gained from the University of Northampton.


Calum is also an "SEN Representative" and works closely with the nursery SENCO to support children at Kings Lodge.
