Puffins at Clystheath provides a safe and engaging environment for children to enjoy their day at nursery and learn about the world around them. The nursery is a converted Victorian chapel and has been open since 1995.

Staff are qualified to provide a high level of care and boost children's learning and social skills through play.

The secure nursery also has a garden area which children are encouraged to play in all year round. As well as the garden area children are taken on regular trips to local parks and green areas which are enjoyable for children and adults alike.

My daughter started attending this nursery at 9 months old and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are always friendly, informative and clearly love the children and where they work. The children get involved in a range of activities, have use of a great garden and also get taken out for
day trips. It has been a great peace of mind for me knowing my daughter has been well taken care of, thank you!

Both of our children have spent their early years at Puffins Clystheath and we highly recommend it. The team genuinely care about the children, help them to develop and grow, and ensure that they enjoy themselves. Our youngest still attends and when we pick him up, we know that he has had a great day
and enjoyed playing with his friends. We know that he is in safe hands and that his careers will look after him if he isn’t 100% happy. Our eldest, who is now six, recently had a glowing parents evening report from his teacher and I would credit Puffins for helping us to raise him in the way that we have. If we had the opportunity to place children in a nursery again, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose Puffins.

My son has been attending Puffins at Clystheath for nearly 2 years and is currently in the Bumblebee room. We have been so pleased with this nursery. He loves his time there and the staff are wonderful - friendly, professional and helpful, and great fun with the children. I know that I am leaving him
in safe hands and that he will be well taken care of. We considered a few settings when choosing a nursery but I am very pleased with our choice and would definitely recommend Puffins at Clystheath.

The whole team at Puffins are exceptional. My daughter is so excited every time she goes and has developed hugely since attending. Knowing that she is having a wonderful time makes it so much easier when dropping her in the mornings. I like the use of the app, where I can see pictures and updates of

Our little girl has been attending Puffins at Clystheath for the past couple of months. Since joining aged 1, we have seen her confidence grow enormously. Her cognitive and more noticeably, her physical development, have developed as a result of all the activities and opportunities she is given by the
nursery staff and the facilities on site. The settling-in period was well managed and tailored to our individual needs. We were able to ‘slot in’ some additional sessions to ensure our little girl was happy and familiarised with the nursery before starting longer days. The staff are really enthusiastic and willing to share with you the events from the day. They are reassuring when needed and particularly at the beginning, it was no trouble to make extra calls to reassure that the day was going well. A lovely addition of the ParentZone app is such a great way to keep parents informed of what the children are doing and to share photographs and special moments throughout the day.

My daughter has been attending Puffins at Clystheath since she was 10 months old, now at the age of 4, she is still loving it. After looking around other settings I loved Puffins as it stood out from the rest. Everyone is so friendly and I have seen my daughter's confidence grow. I'm always amazed at

Puffins - Clystheath
My son currently goes to this nursery 2/3 days a week. The staff are always really friendly and approachable. My son is always very excited when he knows he’s heading into the nursery and even though I’ve never physically been able to see inside, they have kindly uploaded lots
of pictures of my son playing with toys inside and enjoying sensory items.
I would 100% recommend this nursery to other parents.

I have a 2-year old that we send to Puffins at Clystheath. Prior to there she went to a different local nursery and cried every day going in.


From the first day in Puffins, she has become a different child. Her learning, social skills and overall confidence has come on leaps and bounds.


The staff

I can't recommend Puffins Clyst Heath enough. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and inspire confidence that your children are in good care. We chose Puffins before they received their Ofsted outstanding rating as the setting had a great atmosphere and felt like a great environment for our
little ones. We were really chuffed for them when they achieved the well-deserved accolade. Regular parents evenings keep us well informed of their progress as does their online learning diary. Our eldest has just left after attending from nine months to nearly five and always looked forward to his days there. Our one year old now attends two days a week and seems to enjoy it just as much as his big brother did.

Job Title: Childcare Centre Manager Joined: 2016

Puffins at Clystheath have an established team, led by Chantelle who has worked for Puffins since 2016.


Chantelle is Level 3 qualified in Childcare with a Level 5 Lead Practitioner qualification and is supported by her Deputy Kira.


The nursery is spread over 1 floor with individual spaces for each age group. Children can explore a variety of different rooms, supported by caring and diligent staff who work hard to ensure every child is loved and cared for as an individual.
