Puffins at Clystheath provides a safe and engaging environment for children to enjoy their day at nursery and learn about the world around them. The nursery is a converted Victorian chapel and has been open since 1995.

Staff are qualified to provide a high level of care and boost children's learning and social skills through play.

The secure nursery also has a garden area which children are encouraged to play in all year round. As well as the garden area children are taken on regular trips to local parks and green areas which are enjoyable for children and adults alike.

My child has been at Puffins at Clystheath for just two months now and is really enjoying it. I so much prefer this nursery to his old nursery which he had been there for four years. He is outside a lot more now and has been made very welcome there.

My daughter only started at Puffins this month but she has already settled so well. She is always excited to go each morning and talks very fondly of nursery and the staff when she returns home. I love picking her up and hearing daily updates of what she has been doing and she is always very happy when
I collect her. I would definitely recommend Puffins to my family and friends.

My little boy really enjoys nursery. I like the fact they make time to do lots of activities and I also love the variety of food they provide!
The key workers are lovely, so far I have no complaints at all!

My son loves Puffins at Clystheath and we always get great feedback from his key workers to say how happy he is throughout the day. We know he is happy and I feel confident that we are leaving him with people that really care about him.

Overall great nursery. Staff are very friendly and my little boy has settled very well here.


I would make one comment regarding nappy changing and that is that his vest poppers are rarely all done up, only the middle popper. Whilst I appreciate that the staff are busy, and children don't often lay

still, this causes my little boys vest to drag to one side and cut up into the nappy and also puts stress on the vests making them wear unnecessarily.

We have been absolutely delighted with the level of care at Puffins. The staff have developed close and trusting relationships with our son, and he talks about the girls and the setting fondly. For us, that has been the most important thing, along with the provision of a variety of activities every
day. We would certainly recommend Puffins to anyone looking for a local childcare provider.

Very impressed with this nursery and the level of care given to each child. An excellent environment and I have left my daughter here with confidence since the start. The staff are friendly and welcoming and clearly enjoy looking after the children. The parent zone web tool used to communicate with
parents is impressive and works very well. Much easier than paper/books. My only suggestion is that information is correctly entered on the parent zone e.g. vegetarian meals entered where applicable.

Job Title: Childcare Centre Manager Joined: 2016

Puffins at Clystheath have an established team, led by Chantelle who has worked for Puffins since 2016.


Chantelle is Level 3 qualified in Childcare with a Level 5 Lead Practitioner qualification and is supported by her Deputy Kira.


The nursery is spread over 1 floor with individual spaces for each age group. Children can explore a variety of different rooms, supported by caring and diligent staff who work hard to ensure every child is loved and cared for as an individual.
