Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds)

My son has come on leaps and bounds since starting here at Mama Bears. His vocabulary has improved and now he won't stop chatting/singing which is lovely. The members of staff here are brilliant, so caring and keep you up to date on what your child is learning and what they are focusing on. Everyone is always smiling and welcoming! They have a lovely garden which my son absolutely loves as we don't have a garden at home. I was worried about my little one going to nursery as he is very clingy with me but he is so happy here and I would highly recommend other parents to enrol their children here. My eldest son used to go here too and the nursery is just as nice, clean and welcoming as it was then.

My son enjoys attending nursery since he started in September and is very happy. He took a while to settle in but staff are great and always made him happy.

My daughter attended preschool and took a couple of months to adjust. Morning drop-offs were difficult but the staff made her feel very reassured and confident. The site was very clean and welcoming, and my daughter enjoyed a wide variety of learning and activities. The staff regularly updated her learning journey so I really felt in the loop and part of her journey.

I have a 18mth old girl and a 4yr old girl which they have both been attending Mama Bears since they were 9 mths old I cannot thank the nursery and staff enough for everything they do for both my girls, I would never choose another nursery. Both my girls development is developing very well which is down to all the staff members who care for the children and plan activities around their needs and interest. They do lots of fun activities and messy play which my girls love. My 4 yr old will be going to school this year and I know we both will be sad to leave, but I know she will be ready to go to school as the preschool room do lots of things to get the children ready for when they go to school. Thank you and well done Mama Bears.

My child seems to have increased her vocabulary greatly and comes home singing songs. There are always fun activities for the children to do which seems well structured to meet the correct age abilities. The staff are friendly even the ones from a different room. They're gentle but authoritative in the right manner.

Almost 4 years now for our child, and Mama Bear's at Thicket Avenue has been consistently responsible, engaging and relevant for all the ages that they cover. We thank you so much for the value you bring which must come from the culture there, and the levels of training that are maintained. At the end of each day, we are given a sheet that covers the activities and also what food they ate. It's probably the case that children are more likely to eat new healthy things (and expand interests) when they see others doing it, which is another potential issue off the list! Great place.

Mama Bear's preschool has been such a great learning journey for my daughter, she's created such a lovely, special bond with her key person and their relationship makes her time at preschool so much more pleasurable as well as making friends and spending time with other members of staff. I don't have one particular time where something has happened to write a review about but on the days my daughter goes to Mama Bear's she grows with confidence, is happy to be there and the whole team of staff is so very welcoming, polite and update the e log app regularly so you can see and read how your child's day is going etc.

We get daily updates with pictures of our son's progress. The captions associated with the images tell us how he is doing and the progressive learning relationship he has with his teachers. Friendly staff and adequate facilities to encourage play.

My son settled down faster than I thought. The settle down sessions helped him a lot. During his firsts sessions at the nursery, he spent all the time with the same person and that helped him to settle down better. Now, after 2 months (attending just once a week), he is completely settled. Every time he goes, he does different activities and I noticed he is more sociable than before.

I would really recommend considering sending your children to Mama Bears Thicket Avenue. Since the first visit, I have found the staff really friendly and they have been all fantastic with my son. I really like the eyLog app which allows us to see the activities my son takes part in and how they link to the early years learning. My son really enjoys the outside space and being close to a library and small park means they have even more resources at hand.

My daughter has been attending Mama Bear Nursery in Fishponds for about a year. She settled in very easily and is always happy going there. I love the location - nestled in a park - which gives it a very tranquil environment. The staff are all so lovely and caring and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for gentle and supportive childcare.

Very happy with how my child is getting on at Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds). He always participated in a wide range of activities and lots are specifically linked to his interests! Love the e-log app, I can always see from the photos he is happy and well cared for which is very reassuring.

They've brought out the confidence of my children which has made them grow into confident babies, they are always soo helpful and understanding. They always go the extra mile with the children and have fun activities going on for them. For example, a lot of nurseries don't bother with world book day but they always make an effort.

I would recommend this nursery to my friends and colleagues who have small children.

I have two daughters, one that was very sad to leave after 2 years here and another who is just starting her second.

This nursery is excellent. From the leadership team that always have time for you, your assigned key worker and the team at grass roots level, they always offer a smile and help. The most important aspect for me is the genuine pastoral care offered: just magic!

Examples, the baby room early years educator was genuinely sad to see my youngest daughter leave her room as she grew up and my daughter misses her! Previously, the pre-school educator had such a positive role model role for my eldest daughter. This attitude also goes right up to the manager and her team, who for example welcomed us as friends at Bristol Zoo when we visited with the nursery.

They provide detailed observations and they all genuinely care about their children. I was reticent to leave my daughters and not take them to my place of work, a private school. But I don't regret this choice, I am constantly reminded of how well they are looked after and how they develop!

Amazing nursery with great staff. My daughter loves going to nursery and always has lots to say when she comes home. The staff are lovely and friendly and do their best for the children. Would highly recommend this nursery.
