Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds)

We couldn’t be happier with the care our son receives at at Mama Bear's Thicket Avenue. He’s been attending for a year and we’ve seen him come on leaps and bounds in play, concentration and interest in adult-led activities. He’s a smart, ‘spirited’ boy and can be a pickle - always able to sniff out and cause mischief but this has always been handled with humour and addressed with him in the same way we would and they have nurtured the personality. He constantly tells us how he loves the staff, his friends and Mama Bear herself (not so great when he kisses any Mama Bear's sign he can reach, including on cars, when we’re out and about). He’s happy, he’s learning and he is being excellently cared for. I remember being very nervous about starting him at nursery, this being the first time he’d been outside of family care ever but I have zero reservation about sending our baby there when I go back to work. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Our little one went here from the age of 6 months to 2 years. We couldn't have had her in a better nursery or being looked after by better people. Her development during her time there was amazing and the support and care shown by staff was beyond, even now the manager still helps with support and advice when needed. Our child was always happy to be there and seemed to be growing and learning at rate faster than we thought which is thanks to everyone at Mama Bears and their dedication to the children. All the team are great not just with the children but with the adults as well and all of us will miss them.

Since my youngest has started Mama Bears Thicket Avenue he’s come on leaps and bounds. He’s doing really well with his potty training thanks to the help of the staff. He really enjoys nursery and he loves the staff. They are really helpful and caring. He thoroughly enjoys going and I can’t fault the staff. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of sending their child here. We enjoy all the pictures and videos of what he’s doing in school and it’s great to see him having a fun time. If I have any issues I know the staff will be approachable and understanding. My son does have a bit of a tantrum going into school on the odd occasion but the staff were amazing at directing his attention to something else and making him feel more comfortable.

My eldest boy has come here since he was one and loves it here. Everytime we drop him off he runs in with a smile and when we pick him back up. He has a great connection with staff members and I get regular updates on his goings-on during his day. Since joining his learning and confidence has really soared. His younger brother will shortly be joining him in the new year and I’m sure he will love his time here just as much! Thank you everyone at Mama Bear's Fishponds.

My babies love going to nursery and have been extremely comfortable there from day one; they both love the adults there and are excited to see them each morning. I get updates regularly throughout the day with pictures of them having fun, which is nice to see, and they are always happy, which is a reflection of the lovely staff and setting.

My daughter loves it there! The staff are always kind, caring, and welcoming. The nursery manager is always very helpful and deals with any enquiries promptly. My daughter has made a real bond with her keyworker. Love seeing her daily updates, and how happy she is there. Thank you.

Since my daughter has attended this nursery she is so much more confident in herself and with others. She was very emotional when she first started but has overcome that fear with the help from the staff at Mama Bears, she goes in happy and comes out even happier! I'd also like to say they have helped her massively with eating and trying new foods. I love viewing pictures on the app of all the fun stuff she gets up to during her time there. Would 100% recommend this nursery to anyone who's looking for a space.

Staff are brilliant, caring and supportive!

Our son joined the nursery when he was one years old and now he is four. Not a single time during these three years have we had any complaints about the nursery. The staff are professional, friendly and above all caring. Both me and my husband work full time and it gives us peace of mind to know that he is in safe hands each morning when we drop him off and know that he will be well taken care of. The environment is nice and warm. Our son has grown into a young little man now from the baby and toddler he was when he joined. He really likes the nursery and is very friendly with his carers. We like to see the daily update from the nursery and are happy to see him engaged in a variety of creative and fun activities. Looking back at these past three years, we definitely made the right choice by choosing this place for our son. Even in this pandemic, the management are really committed to providing a safe, fun and loving environment and we are very thankful to them. We highly recommend this nursery to other parents.

My three and a half year old has been attending Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds) since he was one years old and he's loved each room as he's progressed through each stage. These guys stayed open for key worker children throughout the pandemic and always welcomed my little one in with a smile despite the uncertain times. My children have been going to this nursery since 2016. The best thing here is the staff. They genuinely love the children and spending time with them, even though I am sure it is hard work. My daughter is doing so many lovely, creative and varied activities here. They are really stimulating her imagination. Her speech has really developed and she knows so many songs! I feel confident in her safety and happiness here. She runs through the door every day to play! There isn't a high turnover of staff, so the children build strong bonds. The menu is varied and delicious. They spend lots of time outdoors. The videos and pictures on the app really give me a good idea of what she's doing. The nursery have worked hard to make bills affordable for parents and have been really flexible around our changing needs. My only quibble is sometimes the finance department make mistakes with invoices but this is not to do with the brilliant staff at Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds).

On top of that, the location is very handy, the garden and building are spacious and well maintained and the car park makes pick up and drop off super easy. Plus the park next door is good for meeting other parents and kids from nursery.

The staff are always kind and welcoming. The nursery manager deals with any enquiries promptly. My child looks forward to going to nursery and says she has lots of fun with her friends. My child has made a real bond with her keyworker and the low staff turnover means that children are also able to get to know all the other staff well. I have been extremely happy with the nursery since my child started at age 6 months as a bottle refusing breastfed baby. The baby room staff went to enormous lengths to comfort her, for which I will be eternally grateful. My only complaint is that it is such a wonderful nursery that there are never any extra days available! I have also been really impressed by the way the nursery has coped with the Covid changes. They are obviously doing something very right as this is my first of ten years as a parent where all my children have not had the "cold brought home from nursery"! Overall, it is a very good nursery.

My daughter loves Mama Bear's Day Nursery. My son was in this nursery before he started school, so I never hesitated to send my daughter to the same nursery as I knew the staff are very helpful. My kids feel at home and the staff are very friendly and kind. They always keep me updated on how my daughter is been doing her assessments. I will recommend this nursery to all others. If you are looking for a place for there kids. Even during Covid my daughter still goes to nursery as I knew they are doing there best to make it a safe place.

A very good nursery in a convenient location with friendly staff, even if it is a bit far from our home. I like the implications of the staff in my child's education and the reports about my child's evolution that they have sent so far. Thank you Mama Bear.

I find the nursery a friendly place where my child enjoys going. I have had no problem with any of the staff, they are all so welcoming to everyone and will keep you up to date with any information you may need.

Our daughter has been at Mama Bears for just over two years. She absolutely adores attending and has lovely relationships with all of the staff. The team all work together to form an inclusive and caring environment. Our child has some slight issues which are dealt with brilliantly and their SENCO lead is great in helping us understand any challenges. They genuinely care about the children that attend and I know we'll miss them when primary school starts later this year.

Extremely caring and considerate staff who have formed strong relationships with both of our children. They’ve always gone above and beyond in all elements of welfare and learning and both of our children have strong social skills which in part is down to the quality of care at our nursery. Our eldest is about to start primary school and she’ll be so sad to have to leave the carers at nursery - they’ve also enabled the kids to develop healthy social circles so our daughter leaves with strong relationships in place that will help her settle in primary school. The feedback on their development and milestones has always been excellent - daily updates and nursery app updates ensure that we don’t miss anything.

PS: our daughter never had any accidents in there!

We love Mama Bear’s! Our little guy has been going for nearly six months the now and he absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and so caring. Clean and fun. Our babbers has massively benefited from coming here and we have grown to love the staff as part of our extended family.

My daughter has been attending Mama Bear's one day a week for a month and so far we are very happy with the level of care etc and most importantly my daughter is happy.
