Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds)

The staff at Mama Bear's have always been very helpful and attentive to me and my children's needs. I was very happy when I found Thicket Avenues Mama Bear's and have never been disappointed. I'm always greeted by friendly staff who always seem upbeat and engaged with the children.

My son really enjoys the messy play, I don't mind that his clothes get messy at times as it shows he has been having fun

My son has attended this nursery for about 18 months. He is doing very well and enjoys coming here. During this time I have found the staff to be extremely helpful and attentive to the needs of my son and also for us as a family. Over this period I have also seen a real change for the better in the environment provided for the children their attention to detail is excellent and certainly feel my son is in safe hands well looked after respected and recognised for the individual that he is. There is a new sensory room which is remarkable and the outside play areas provide a variety of creative safe spaces for imaginative play to take place. They have also provided great consistency of care as my son has pretty much had the same key worker for the majority of time that he has attended. She is really good and knows him very well so BIG THANK YOU from us as a family. We think you are great.

I love the fact I can see her progress throughout the day.

My child has been going to Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Fishponds) for two months from the age of seven months. My wife and I are very happy with the quality of care she receives. The staff are genuinely caring, attentive and knowledgeable. They have gotten to know our daughter well and can tell when she's herself and when she's not. I would highly recommend this nursery and the very good staff here.

My son has attended Mama Bears Fishponds since he was 9 months old. I was very anxious going back to work, leaving my son in someone else's care, but the staff made the transition easy and pretty painless. We have been going here for nearly a year now and my son absolutely loves it. They do a a lot of different activities with the children and also spend a lot of time in the garden. My son really enjoys the messy play, so yes, his clothes do get mucky, but hey, that's what spares are for, if it makes him happy! The staff have always been very friendly and approachable and have always worked with us when trying new things, for example, stopping the use of the dummy! I am a really big fan of 'eylog' as this keeps us updated on our son's progress and we have quite a few observations a week, including pictures and videos which makes me happy at work to see what he is getting up to. He seems to have a lot of fun at nursery and sometimes moans about coming home!

Car park has been untouched for over 1 year - filthy. Cobwebs near ceiling inside the nursery has got hundreds of dead flies trapped in them. Children not dressed properly on a number of occasions when going out in cold months. Lack of care (help with going to the toilet, thirst,...) I don't agree with foam and flour games (what does that teach kids apart from ruining their clothes we had to pay for?) Overall our child likes the nursery and that is what matters to him but value for money is non-existent.

Both my daughters have attend this nursery since they were 7 months and they love coming, so much so sometimes they don't want to go. The staff are friendly and committed to ensuring my children stay safe, progress in learning and development and are happy. I am very happy with the standard of care they receive whilst having fun and learning.
