Orchidale Children's Nursery

This nursery has been the best choice for our son, who has been to other nurseries and childminders in the past. The staff interact well with the children, support their interests and genuinely care for their wellbeing. The outdoor setting was the deciding factor for us and our son has developed in ways we never imagined; physically, academically and emotionally. He has an insatiable curiosity that benefits from being in this environment. I honestly wish we could delay primary and have him here another year.

My daughter has been going to Orchidale Nursery twice a week since she turned one. She’s over two now and is loving her time at Orchidale. She takes part in such a wide variety of activities, and we love seeing all the updates on the app. She’s had two key workers who have been amazing, and all the other staff clearly know who she is and take an interest, too. The care and support her key workers have given her gives me comfort whilst at work. Communication is great, and the facilities are equally as amazing. She loves the food options, too. We wouldn’t have sent her anywhere else, and we would rate Orchidale more than five stars if we could.

The staff build amazing relationships with the children and they genuinely want the very best for them. My youngest child will be starting there soon and I can't wait for him to join the Orchidale family!

Orchidale have been an incredible nursery for nearly 10 years to us. As a family we would never look anywhere else. We cannot thank their staff enough for the enrichment given to our children over the years.

Orchidale has surpassed my expectations and I am so glad that my daughter has spent her foundation stage here. She is definitely well prepared for school thanks to the amazing provision and the skilled staff on hand to guide her along the way. Orchidale manages the perfect balance between fostering independence and nurturing depending on the individual. A really special place that feels like a home away from home. I would recommend to all parents.

Orchidale is an amazing nursery. It has great facilities and they do lots of great trips out. My daughter particularly enjoyed going to forest school. She also loved being outside a lot and looking after the animals. All the staff are very friendly and approachable. My daughter definitely thrived at Orchidale.

My son attends Orchidale Nursery in the House Martins. I have nothing but praise for the nursery, the setting and the provision they provide. The staff go above and beyond to help my son, and he has a lovely key worker, who, along with the rest of the staff has put so much effort into supporting my son with his challenging eating. They have already made so much progress. He always feels like he is nurtured by the staff, and I have never met a member of the team who isn’t giving everything to the children. They provide some amazing experiences for the children visiting forest school, chopping down a Christmas tree and pumpkin picking to name but a few. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone. My youngest will be attending Orchidale as soon as he’s ready despite it being 25 minutes each way for us. The facilities, ethos and staff far out way anything that can be offered anywhere else in Norwich.

My little boy started at Orchidale in September 2021. He was very attached to me and his dad, and being born during the pandemic meant he really only saw us and medical professionals for the first six months. I was, therefore, very nervous about him starting nursery, but I knew it would be good for his development. As soon as I met his key worker in the baby room, I felt at ease. He then moved up to the toddler room, and knowing it takes him time to feel comfortable around new people, I was nervous again, but his key worker and team in the toddler room soon put me at ease again. His key worker works with us and when needed, will adapt things to meet his needs. He has really thrived since being at Orchidale; he has grown so much in terms of his social skills and communication. He does so many activities; he loves being outside - one of the big reasons we chose orchidale was for the forest school.

I was struggling with the thought of taking my little boy to nursery and having to leave him for the first time, but I knew sending him to nursery would benefit him, and it would be good for him to socialise with little ones his age. My little boy loves the outside, so seeing the outside gardens and all the activities that they offer was perfect, and what can I say! Wow, I am shocked at the progress he has made since starting in early February, and that is down to the staff and especially his key worker; I have so much trust and confidence in the staff and am so pleased that I chose Orchidale as it seems to be working amazingly for my little boy. He loves going to nursery and has gradually become more and more comfortable and confident in going. He always comes out super happy, and his key worker explains what he’s been up to in the day and new things he discovered or achieved, which is really lovely to hear. I 100% recommend it.

The outstanding Ofsted rating/report is truly deserved. My son is now in the toddler room, following being in the baby room since a year old. The opportunities for the children are fantastic, and the range of activities they do is also amazing. All the usual activities you would expect, but opportunities like woodwork (with real tools etc), the forest school, offsite trips and the cooking club make the experience for the children so much more. I’m always excited to hear what my son has done and can see how all the opportunities have helped his development. All the staff I’ve experienced have been lovely. Friendly, approachable, and best of all, brilliant with the children. The meals are a really good range of healthy and nutritious options, and the children sometimes have the opportunity to help make meals or cakes for desserts.

My daughter has been attending Orchidale since she was 8 months old. We began here during the 2020 pandemic. I can not thank the team enough for their support during that difficult time. My daughter enjoys her days at nursery and is always full of beans when I collect her.

He was so sad when the time came to leave and go to school, but the experience he had at Orchidale made sure that he was completely ready to go, and he has settled into school with no problem. I would recommend Orchidale to anyone without any hesitation.

The moment we stepped into Orchidale Children's Nursery we knew it was the right place for our little one. The children were running around having an absolute blast. It was utter chaos but exactly what you want children to be, children. We had viewed nurseries before this one and it all felt regimental and sterile, making sure they were ready for school. Nothing wrong with that but it wasn’t for us. Orchidale gets them ready for life and teaches them so much more than just being classroom ready. As a first time mum, it was always going to be hard entrusting someone else with my baby but I have so much confidence in the staff in the 0-2s and especially mine's key worker. She loves going to nursery and started to pick up so much just from being there. I will never stop raving about this place. It’s brilliant and if you don’t believe me, just go and look for yourselves.

There is so much for the children to do at Orchidale Children's Nursery both in free play and small group activities; which are innovative and creative. Our highlights were yoga, cooking, the forest school and my daughter being supported to overcome her fears when the minibeasts visited which she was very proud of. The nursery is very nurturing. Children receive a warm welcome on arrival. My daughter was new to childcare and though she seemed confident she needed more support to adjust than anticipated. Her key worker was very understanding. I felt all staff took the time to know my daughter as an individual and she had a good relationship with all staff. Her allergies were also managed brilliantly. Sadly, we had to leave Orchidale for a more local preschool, however, my daughter has adjusted very easily and I believe this is down to the amazing introduction to nursery care that she had at Orchidale.

we highly recommend Orchidale Children's Nursery for meeting all your children's needs, We spent a long time researching/viewing different local nurseries and this one came way above everywhere else for what we were looking for. It was really important to us that we were able to settle our boys in gently so they were able to build relationships with key staff which made for a smooth transition into starting nursery. We love the safe, calm, caring environment that Orchidale offers. I feel so comfortable and could see my boys happy there. I've always experienced excellent communication with the manager who is extremely approachable, friendly and understanding of children's and parents' needs. We fully trust the staff who are attentive, nurturing and respectful to our boys. The high level of care the staff provide and their commitment is so evident. I love that the children have the chance to be so creative and learn through child lead play. The setting really does all the resources and opportunities you could want for your child! we are truly grateful for Orchidale Nursery and appreciate all the staff who care for our boys.
