Orchidale Children's Nursery was graded “outstanding” by Ofsted (June 2022).

The nursery garden is very large and includes a separate baby and toddler garden, toddler and preschool garden, patio, and a forest school garden with a trained forest school leader. Here children are free to explore the natural environment and can develop shared joy and a sense of wonder about nature. In the vegetable patch, children can learn to grow and harvest fruit and vegetables.

Inside there are open and homely environments and children are looked after by the highly qualified and experienced team, including Early Years teachers.

The wide curriculum includes daily and weekly gardening, baking, forest school and yoga. Orchidale also has termly visits and visitors such as the fire brigade and zoo.

To meet all children's unique individual needs this exciting curriculum uses diverse learning styles, from sensory, visual and auditory to kinaesthetic, musical and naturalistic.

Orchidale's teaching values healthy active days and provides great choices in healthy eating. This extends to care for a healthy planet. The home cooking uses local produce, fruit and vegetables, as well as nursery children's ‘own grown veg’ from the vegetable plot.

My daughter has been attending Orchidale since she was 8 months old. We began here during the 2020 pandemic. I can not thank the team enough for their support during that difficult time. My daughter enjoys her days at nursery and is always full of beans when I collect her.

Our son was at Orchidale for almost three years from when he was two to five, and I couldn't rate it highly enough. During that time he has been cared for and nurtured, and has grown enormously in confidence, which was our main reason for sending him. From the moment we looked round he was comfortable
there - immediately going off and playing on our tour, something he didn't do at any other setting we looked at with him.
The staff are friendly and approachable and were understanding and supportive when we asked them to help with challenges we had over the course of his time there.
He was so sad when the time came to leave and go to school, but the experience he had at Orchidale made sure that he was completely ready to go, and he has settled into school with no problem. I would recommend Orchidale to anyone without any hesitation.

The moment we stepped into Orchidale Children's Nursery we knew it was the right place for our little one. The children were running around having an absolute blast. It was utter chaos but exactly what you want children to be, children. We had viewed nurseries before this one and it all felt regimental
and sterile, making sure they were ready for school. Nothing wrong with that but it wasn’t for us. Orchidale gets them ready for life and teaches them so much more than just being classroom ready. As a first time mum, it was always going to be hard entrusting someone else with my baby but I have so much confidence in the staff in the 0-2s and especially mine's key worker. She loves going to nursery and started to pick up so much just from being there. I will never stop raving about this place. It’s brilliant and if you don’t believe me, just go and look for yourselves.

There is so much for the children to do at Orchidale Children's Nursery both in free play and small group activities; which are innovative and creative. Our highlights were yoga, cooking, the forest school and my daughter being supported to overcome her fears when the minibeasts visited which she was
very proud of. The nursery is very nurturing. Children receive a warm welcome on arrival. My daughter was new to childcare and though she seemed confident she needed more support to adjust than anticipated. Her key worker was very understanding. I felt all staff took the time to know my daughter as an individual and she had a good relationship with all staff. Her allergies were also managed brilliantly. Sadly, we had to leave Orchidale for a more local preschool, however, my daughter has adjusted very easily and I believe this is down to the amazing introduction to nursery care that she had at Orchidale.

we highly recommend Orchidale Children's Nursery for meeting all your children's needs, We spent a long time researching/viewing different local nurseries and this one came way above everywhere else for what we were looking for. It was really important to us that we were able to settle our boys in
gently so they were able to build relationships with key staff which made for a smooth transition into starting nursery. We love the safe, calm, caring environment that Orchidale offers. I feel so comfortable and could see my boys happy there. I've always experienced excellent communication with the manager who is extremely approachable, friendly and understanding of children's and parents' needs. We fully trust the staff who are attentive, nurturing and respectful to our boys. The high level of care the staff provide and their commitment is so evident. I love that the children have the chance to be so creative and learn through child lead play. The setting really does all the resources and opportunities you could want for your child! we are truly grateful for Orchidale Nursery and appreciate all the staff who care for our boys.

From the moment I stepped into Orchidale to look around, I knew this was the nursery I wanted my daughter to go to. There is so much for the children to do and explore, and the staff are so caring and nurturing with the children. I love receiving the regular updates on the app to see what my daughter
has been doing, and at pick up, you are told about their day, what they have eaten, been doing, etc.
They take the children on little trips to the local garden centre, forest school, etc.
My daughter has been going to Orchidale for over 2-years now and loves it. I honestly can’t recommend this nursery enough.

My little boy loves nursery and is currently in the 0-2 room.
He took a little while to settle in but they were brilliant with him and he’s attached at the hip with his key carer. He loves her!
He’s so happy he now waves me goodbye every morning as I hand him over. And the fussy little eater at
home loves his nursery lunches, often eating more there than he ever would at home.

Great opening hours. Super staff - amazing bonds created. Super outside spaces suitable for all ages. A range of activities for all babies, toddlers and pre-school children. I wouldn't send my daughter anywhere else.

My daughter thoroughly enjoys Orchidale Children's Nursery. She has been going there since she was 18 months old and is now just over 3 years. The activities available are beyond our expectations and the staff are all friendly and helpful. They are so caring and supportive to my daughter's needs. I
love how they think outside the box and don't have just a standard classroom for education but various places and spaces to explore. I love that they hatch ducklings each year and have a forest school - children don't readily have those experiences in everyday life so it is nice they can get involved. Thank you staff!

Orchidale Children's Nursery is an amazing nursery with fantastically helpful staff and great facilities.
The little ones have lots of outdoor play and visits to the forest school.
Our daughter is always coming home with cute crafted or baked presents for us.

Amazing nursery!
My little boy has attended Orchidale Children's Nursery since September 2021. Having had no previous experience of attending nursery or even much time away from home due to lockdown I was very apprehensive. After just a few sessions I knew we had made a great choice. He is absolutely
thriving there. The staff are all extremely good at what they do and there are lots of varied activities each day (including forest school).
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Orchidale, it really is an excellent nursery.

Our daughter is thriving at nursery. She is always so happy to see her friends and the staff at the start of her day. Her days are both varied and with a routine that has allowed her to develop into a confident little person. The staff are fantastic and have a wonderful relationship with our daughter,
the feedback on her progress is brilliant so that we are kept up to date daily. The facilities are also lovely, as soon as we saw the nursery when we did a tour we were confident that Orchidale Children's Nursery was where we would feel happy for our daughter to play and learn. Eight months on we feel so lucky to have found Orchidale.

Both of my children attend Orchidale Children's Nursery and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff are attentive, enthusiastic and treat every child individually and personally to their needs - whether educational or emotional etc. The nursery invests time in each child and this shines through
in my son who was non vocal when he started 16 months ago and now chats and sings all the time! My children adore the staff and it certainly feels like staff feel the same way about them. I couldn’t be more confident that my children are in the best hands when at Orchidale!

My 17-month-old started in September, and since attending Orchidale, his speech has developed and is becoming more confident socially. He loves going and always has a big smile on his face when I pick him up. Going with the children’s way of doing things really suits my son as he’s independent-minded.
Everyone is friendly, and I have felt comfortable from day one with leaving my son there. I’m really pleased we chose Orchidale.

We recently moved to the area and needed to find a nursery for our son, and we feel so lucky to have found Orchidale. It's absolutely wonderful. My son settled in instantly due to the care and attention of all the fantastic staff there. I love that the teachers follow the children's lead and nurture
their individual interests and ideas. They make playdoh cupcakes, have water fights, build wooden toys, create obstacle courses and so many other things! The meals are all prepared and cooked in-house, often using food grown in the nursery's garden. My son has attended a few different nurseries/daycares, and Orchidale is far and away the best. It's truly special, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

The staff at Orchidale are all really lovely and happy to help. They have a wide variety of activities for the children to do both indoors and outside. My little one loves going and always enjoys her days there.

Orchidale Children's Nursery is the perfect place to send a child, they care deeply about me and my child. Focus weeks involve my child's input and include lots of activities based around their current interests. They go to Forest School weekly and learn lots about nature. Orchidale Children's Nursery

An absolutely fantastic nursery with the best staff who go over and above to provide for the children every single day. The experiences the child gain from being at nursery is just amazing, regular trips to forest school, woodwork, watching ducklings hatch and grow, baking, painting. There really is

The nursery is very clean and well equipped it is a fantastic nursery and the variety of activities and food is excellent. The staff are all so friendly and my little boy loves them all! The outside space is like no other. My little boy has only been going for a couple of months but I can already see
huge changes in his development. I am beyond happy with our choice of nursery. They even had ducklings in for the children to learn about which is just a fantastic experience.

A wonderfully supportive, friendly and welcoming nursery which has a fantastic range of facilities - particularly within the outdoor areas. Staff are extremely supportive and approachable, they have developed wonderful relationships with my son. Activities which are set up each day provide excellent
opportunities for development across all areas of learning. I have been impressed with the opportunities which have been available to my son who is in the under 2 room. Since starting at the nursery he has made leaps and bounds of progress.
