Orchidale Children's Nursery was graded “outstanding” by Ofsted (June 2022).

The nursery garden is very large and includes a separate baby and toddler garden, toddler and preschool garden, patio, and a forest school garden with a trained forest school leader. Here children are free to explore the natural environment and can develop shared joy and a sense of wonder about nature. In the vegetable patch, children can learn to grow and harvest fruit and vegetables.

Inside there are open and homely environments and children are looked after by the highly qualified and experienced team, including Early Years teachers.

The wide curriculum includes daily and weekly gardening, baking, forest school and yoga. Orchidale also has termly visits and visitors such as the fire brigade and zoo.

To meet all children's unique individual needs this exciting curriculum uses diverse learning styles, from sensory, visual and auditory to kinaesthetic, musical and naturalistic.

Orchidale's teaching values healthy active days and provides great choices in healthy eating. This extends to care for a healthy planet. The home cooking uses local produce, fruit and vegetables, as well as nursery children's ‘own grown veg’ from the vegetable plot.

My son has been going to Orchidale since September 2023. Wow, what an experience! He loves it and he loves the staff, they are absolutely amazing. They put so much effort into everything. They have people come in with animals and puppets, they teach the kids about nature and have a forest school. They
take them on trips to the shops to choose their own snacks and foods and sometimes to buy things for dress up. My son has got stronger from all the outside play, more confident and more dexterous. It is amazing to see his exponential progress since he started there compared to his previous setting.

Cannot praise this wonderful nursery enough.
The facilities and the activities for the children are fabulous. Really well thought out, educational and lots of fun.
The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful.
Our daughter looks forward to attending nursery and I will be sad
when it’s time for her to leave and go to big school.

My daughter has been at Orchidale for over a year now and she has truly blossomed during her time at this nursery! The staff are so welcoming to both parents and children and it is easy to address any queries or questions about my daughter's day to day learning. I can't praise the teachers enough for
all their work with my daughter! Not a day has gone by that she hasn't wanted to go to nursery to explore, learn and play. Orchidale is by far the best nursery in the area!

Our daughter loves going here, and they do so much to help children develop.
The team are always in good spirits and they really listen to what we as parents want.
Visibility of activities through the app is a nice touch as well.

We are really impressed with our experience of Orchidale. The staff are so helpful, kind, conscientious, and knowledgeable. They have such a varied and enhanced provision compared to other nurseries. We are just so impressed with Orchidale and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Orchidale was the best decision we ever made for our daughter. The level of care is second to none, the staff are friendly and make so much effort to get to know you and provide the best service. Our daughter has Fijian heritage and it was fantastic to see the nursery celebrating Fiji day, dancing to
Fijian songs and making Fijian recipes. They take the children in wonderful outings. Orchidale is just the most wonderful place for outdoorsy, outgoing children. I would recommend to everyone

Since starting nursery or child development and happiness have thrived. The staff are caring, diligent, committed and so devoted. The activities and enrichment are outstanding, carefully curated and thoughtfully implemented. The food is nutritious, varied and fun with motor skills and socialisation
always prioritised. The updates we receive daily are comprehensive and so far did. Organisation, attention to detail and management are second to none and the entire facility is lovingly maintained. We all adore Orchidale Children's Nursery I'm the wonderful joy it's brought our entire family.

Our child loves Orchidale Children's Nursery, the only improvement/consideration would be more indoor space so there could be a dedicated sleeping area. Our child struggles to sleep with a lot going on around her.
Move the minivans in the car park to free up two large spaces for pick-up/drop-off peak
times.

My child absolutely loves coming to nursery. All the staff are amazing with her. She's learnt so much since starting. They've always been amazing with feedback at the end of the day. I'm extremely happy as her mum to send her here, knowing she is safe and looked after.

Orchidale is fantastic. Our daughter has been attending since the spring in the baby room and we are so happy with the provision. She loves going, is always happy to see the staff in the mornings and genuinely seems to have a great time. She has some dietary restrictions and Orchidale has always catered
to this without question ensuring she is included safely in all food-related activities such as baking. The handovers, updates, and pictures enable us to really know what’s going on and the range of activities and trips offered is excellent. I don’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone I speak to!

We love the fact that they take the children outside so often. The staff are particularly wonderful and great with our son. They genuinely care for him and have really helped him settle in. They are also good at telling us exactly what he has done during the day so we feel like we haven’t missed out.
The interaction between staff and us as parents is really good. We enjoyed the settle-in sessions as well as the “parents evening” where we got to speak to the key worker one-on-one for some time.
The only areas for improvement are:
- Being able to give one dose of Calpol to children. Most other nurseries do this before sending kids home and as two working parents who work shifts, this can be particularly painful.
- A better, and more used interactive app. The current app keeps logging us out and we usually only get one update a day.

I absolutely love Orchidale. My son has been there for two years, and now my daughter is with my son's original key person, and we just couldn't be happier.
Trusting your children with people is never easy, but all the wonderful staff at Orchidale make it feel so easy.
The enhanced provision has
seen them raising ducks from eggs to adults, using firehoses with real firefighters, meeting alpacas and picking pumpkins. My son, who struggles to walk with hypermobility, has been nurtured and helped to grow, to the point where he can now go to their forestry school, which is incredible! Imagine a place where your child could be raising fish one day and learning all about and meeting horses the next. Then throw in woodworking, reading and social play.
There are other nurseries out there, but they aren't Orchidale, case closed.

My daughters (3 and 1) both love Orchidale Nursery. The care and range of fun activities offered are amazing. I get an insight into the things they get up to with regular online updates. Both girls are thriving. The resources within the nursery are brilliant too including the well-thought-out outside
space and ever-changing fun environment. One of my favourite things this year was that on my daughter's birthday, the staff even incorporated making a birthday cake and singing happy birthday to her which she loved. It was such a delightful personal touch which is another great attribute to the staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Orchidale to anyone considering it.

Orchidale has a very welcoming and reassuring team to great you at the door every day. My son has been welcomed since 5 months old and he loves going. The outdoor encouragement is brilliant and what we as a family were looking for this time around when choosing a setting. The outdoors is enjoyed all
year round.
Cleanliness I have rated as a 4 as I do not get to enter the premises and cannot comment fairly and go purely by the face-to-face commitment to the childcare I see.

This nursery has been the best choice for our son, who has been to other nurseries and childminders in the past. The staff interact well with the children, support their interests and genuinely care for their wellbeing. The outdoor setting was the deciding factor for us and our son has developed in
ways we never imagined; physically, academically and emotionally. He has an insatiable curiosity that benefits from being in this environment. I honestly wish we could delay primary and have him here another year.

My daughter has been going to Orchidale Nursery twice a week since she turned one. She’s over two now and is loving her time at Orchidale. She takes part in such a wide variety of activities, and we love seeing all the updates on the app. She’s had two key workers who have been amazing, and all the
other staff clearly know who she is and take an interest, too. The care and support her key workers have given her gives me comfort whilst at work. Communication is great, and the facilities are equally as amazing. She loves the food options, too. We wouldn’t have sent her anywhere else, and we would rate Orchidale more than five stars if we could.

Orchidale Children's Nursery is such a wonderful place which I cannot recommend highly enough. My son absolutely loved his time there and he thrived, loving the outside setting where he got to explore and have the best time!
The staff are incredible - they are so caring, supportive and understanding
to both the children and families. They provide excellent opportunities for the children both at and outside the nursery and really take the time to give every child a rich variety of fun activities to help their development and engage their interests.
The staff build amazing relationships with the children and they genuinely want the very best for them. My youngest child will be starting there soon and I can't wait for him to join the Orchidale family!

Orchidale have been an incredible nursery for nearly 10 years to us. As a family we would never look anywhere else. We cannot thank their staff enough for the enrichment given to our children over the years.

Orchidale has surpassed my expectations and I am so glad that my daughter has spent her foundation stage here. She is definitely well prepared for school thanks to the amazing provision and the skilled staff on hand to guide her along the way. Orchidale manages the perfect balance between fostering
independence and nurturing depending on the individual. A really special place that feels like a home away from home. I would recommend to all parents.
