After relocating to Norfolk with no local recommendations, we used this website to compare nurseries through reviews, ratings and Ofsted reports, which led us to Orchidale. From our first visit it stood out for its warm, home-from-home feel and how happy and engaged the children were. Compared to
our daughter's previous large nursery, the environment, activities and overall involvement felt far more personal. Since joining last summer, our daughter has been on numerous trips out, learnt about gardening, helps care for the nursery bunny and very much enjoys cooking club. We were initially worried about how she'd cope with the move, but the staff haven been amazing. By day four she was happily walking in and now has a lovely relationship with her key worker, Gaby, who also carefully supports her eczema routine. Although slightly more expensive than other nurseries, Orchidale has been worth every penny. We've been so impressed that baby number two has already been signed up for next year!

Orchidale is the perfect nursery for our little boy. The environment and ethos of the nursery is exactly what we were looking for. The nursery has a warm and welcoming environment and has that "cosy feel" to it, along with the great outdoor setup they have.
All of the staff at the nursery are
wonderful! So welcoming and kind and you can see they are all passionate about the work they do.
Gabby my son's key worker is brilliant, she is incredibly kind and attentive. Gabby always goes above and beyond and we always appreciate the detailed updates we get when we pick him up from the gate and we love seeing the photos we receive daily on the app. Gabby is a real asset to the nursery.
We have loved seeing our son grow at this nursery and can't wait to see what else is in store for him.
The quality of the activities that our son takes part in are excellent and we particularly love that they take them out for little trips in the mini van!
Overall, Orchidale is a wonderful nursery.

Both of my grandchildren have attended Orchidale. My granddaughter is still there, and when I drop her off and collect her, she is always happy. The staff are informative with what she has done during the day, her food and naps. She always chats about the staff and her friends on the way home, which
is so lovely to hear.
Orchidale is a great setting for children - they have so many experiences, visitors and most importantly so much fun (indoors and outdoors)!

Both my children have attended Orchidale, with my daughter still attending. All of the staff are kind and nurturing and my daughter always speaks so highly of everyone. The activities and experiences are above and beyond, the outside area and animals are an added bonus! Whenever I've had a query,
they've always got back to me quickly and with a solution. I would 100% recommend Orchidale to everyone.

My daughter started at Orchidale in September 2025. She absolutely loves it here, and we are so thankful to have such a wonderful nursery available to us. She loves being outside, exploring and learning new things. This is one of many reasons we love it here. Due to my working hours, she does do
long days at nursery (10 hours), this does not negatively impact her as she is always very well cared for, supported, and happy during her time there. She has built strong relationships with the staff, which is clear as she often talks about them and even asks for them outside of nursery hours.The team create such a nurturing and engaging environment, she feels comfortable, settled, and genuinely enjoys attending. Pick-up and drop-offs are always handled smoothly, it isn't often my daughter will get upset when I drop her off in the morning, but on the occasions she does get upset, the staff are very reassuring and know exactly how to comfort her, helping her to settle quickly.

We couldn't be happier with Orchidale Children's Nursery. Our daughter absolutely loves attending, and it says everything that she's always beaming when we collect her at the end of the day. The staff are warm, caring, and clearly dedicated to making the children feel happy and secure.
One thing we
especially appreciate is the photos and updates the team upload to the app system. They're always really lovely and give us a wonderful glimpse into what she's been up to each day, which means so much to us as parents. It's reassuring and a joy to see her learning, playing, and having fun.

Our daughter has been attending Orchidale since August 2024 and we have nothing but good things to say about our experience. From day 1 we have had total confidence that they are giving our little girl the very best start to life/childcare and it is clear to see the amazing impact they have had on
her. Her confidence and adaptability as well as learning new skills has come on leaps and bounds. They do a fantastic variety of activities and she particularly loves helping care for the animals that live at the nursery.

Orchidale is a wonderful nursery. The team work very hard to ensure the children have fun, enriched days. They keep rabbits and chickens, which my daughter loves. To me what set them apart other than the kind and empathetic staff is the wonderful, large natural environment they provide and the trips
they are taken on. I have seen my daughter who was quite shy grow immensely in confidence and curiosity. She is 2 years old and driving home from nursery recently asked me "mummy what do clouds do?" I feel she is being prepared for school in terms of her curiosity, language capability and interest in the wider world, without the nursery setting being formal or restrictive.
I was nervous about sending her to nursery and experienced 'mum guilt' but the team were consistent and kept me updated all the way.
The manager said she was happy for me to call whenever I needed to check how she was settling in. Now I know she's having such a fun day and look forward to seeing all the lovely photos.

My daughter has been at Orchidale for just over a year, starting in the baby room and now in the toddler room. I couldn't be happier with the experience we've had so far and the staff we've met have all been so genuine and lovely. My daughter has made a lovely bond with her key workers, Bex when in
the baby room and her current key worker Gabby who she is always happy to see in the mornings!
Yes it may be more expensive than other nurseries but they do so much with the children, trips out, cooking, puppet shows, yoga, caring for animals. The list is endless and in my opinion it is worth every penny. I really wanted a home from home environment for my daughter's nursery experience and that's exactly what you get at Orchidale.

My little girl joined the nursery a few months ago and I've continued to be impressed every week, the effort and attention and love they provide for the children really is outstanding.
My little girls key worker Abbie really is a superstar and as a mother with anxiety it was my biggest worry
leaving my little girl there as she's very little! But Abbie never leaves a question unanswered at the door, she has welcome arms for my little one every session and my little girl is more than happy to go in, never with fuss and always with a huge smile.
Truly an exceptional nursery and I can't wait to see how she progresses over the years.

My child has been attending Orchidale for over two years now and we have been so happy with our experience. The staff are all lovely and clearly care so much about the children, taking the time to get to know their personalities and interests. My child is always talking about the nursery ladies! The
nursery organises lots of exciting activities and visits; my child has had the opportunity to sit in a fire engine, touch reptiles, and visit a care home among many other things. They help the children to develop lots of skills, including woodwork, cooking and gardening, and encourage independence as they get older. I love that they can self serve their food at mealtimes in the preschool room! The meals are nutritious and the rotating menu gives variety. The fact that the children spend so much time outside and get to visit forest school was a big attraction for us too. We also get lots of updates on what our child has been up to. We have loved being part of Orchidale!

From day one, the staff went above and
beyond to make the transitions smooth and reassuring. The team at Orchidale are not only professional but also genuinely passionate about what they do. They create a caring, encouraging and supportive environment.
The activities and opportunities are outstanding - there is always something new and enriching to enjoy. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are beautifully designed, with stimulating areas for busy play and quieter corners for rest and reflection.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a nurturing place where our daughter is not only cared for, but truly thriving.

My son has been at Orchidale for 4 months now, attending 2 days per week. The reason we chose Orchidale was because we loved the idea of our son being encouraged to enjoy going outdoors, experiencing forest school, going on nursery trips, learning key skills, for example cooking. When we first
visited the nursery we knew straight away this was the best place for him. He took a little while to settle in, but his key workers and other staff members have been great with helping to get him settled, now he gets very excited when we arrive and waves and smiles when we leave him. The updates on the app are great, we love seeing what he's getting up to and also love hearing about his day when we pick him up from the gate.
We can really see that he is going to thrive here and very happy with our choice.
All the members of staff are brilliant and couldn't think of anywhere else better to help with his learning journey! We can't thank you enough!

When looking for a nursery I wanted my son to be in an enriching environment where he would still learn but not be subject to a school setting from such a young age. Orchidale was easily the right choice. He has been here for nearly 2 years and his last day will definitely be a sad one!
He plays
outside almost all the time and has had so many amazing experiences, going on trips to farms, library, nature walks, their very own forest school and so much more. They also have people come in to deliver sessions such as yoga and karate, ponies and other animals, and even the ice cream van!
His confidence has grown massively since attending Orchidale and he's made amazing friendships. The staff are amazing, so kind and caring and they feedback so many details about my son's day. He's a fussy eater but even this has improved with their gentle support.
When we had an extremely sad personal family matter the staff were incredibly supportive and helped in any way they could. Amazing nursery!

The staff here are fantastic! My eldest has attended since she was 3 and my youngest since she was 2. I know Orchidale is giving them both the best possible start in preparation for school.
The amount and variation of trips they take the girls on means they benefit from so many experiences. The
areas the nursery use for the different age groups are wonderful outdoor/open spaces filled with so many different crafts, play equipment and even tools for the children to explore.
The staff are caring and nurturing bringing great energy as soon as they see them at the gate. Even in the car park before they've even started work!
We love the family events they put on throughout the year - Christmas and Spring fairs, orchfest and pumpkin competitions.
We adore this nursery and will be sad when the girls time there comes to an end.

Our son has been at Orchidale for 5 months now and it's turned out to be the best choice of nursery we could have wished for. He gets involved in so many different activities - like touching snakes, alpacas, watching chicken eggs hatch, cooking, gardening and making all sorts of creations (despite
starting just before his first birthday!). The staff genuinely care for him and the effort they put in to ensure the children have all these experiences is incredible, I can't fault them.

My daughter has been at Orchidale since she was 11months old. We chose Orchidale due to its enhanced offers (field trips, forest school, visitors to nursery, gardening club, cooking club etc), outdoor space & the warm vibe we got when viewing. My daughter has loved every one of her key workers & in
fact all the staff. She loves her time at nursery & when she has experienced difficulties the staff have been very supportive & taken their time with her. Having two parents evenings a year, the app updates & on the gate updates allow you to feel a part of their nursery world.
I can't believe my daughter will be heading off to school in September, but I can already see how nursery is helping her prepare for this. She's made some lovely friends during her time with Orchidale, some of whom, will be moving up to school with her.
The staff at Orchidale are all superstars & I cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of my daughter over the last 4 years. She will miss them all greatly.

From the call to arrange a show round to him starting I knew we made the right choice.
The staff are truly amazing & go above & beyond for the children in their care. The learning opportunities & experiences are second to
none & I couldn't ask for a better Nursery. Their truly outstanding.

Our daughter has been going to Orchidale for just over a year now and we couldn't be more thrilled with the confidence she has gained and the development of her skills. The staff are all passionate and demonstrate what a caring, supportive and encouraging environment looks like. Leaving your most
precious gift understandably feels uneasy, but from the very first day I can honestly say the call to reassure me on day one, regular updates inc. photos etc. demonstrate that nothing is too much.
The range of activities and opportunities that are available are outstanding: forest school, on site pets, regular visits from animals/health services/entertainment, trips out in the minibus, and much more. Both the indoor and outdoor space is carefully designed to be age and skill appropriate for the stage in which the child is in, with areas that are busier and areas that are quieter for the children to recharge or spend some quiet time in.
Orchidale is more like an extension of the family.

Orchidale is an amazing nursery. They are friendly, helpful and really make an effort to get to know you and your child. They do countless activities with the children throughout the day and have helped massively with the development of our daughter. She loves it so much she never wants to leave
when we pick her up!
