Orchidale Children's Nursery was graded “outstanding” by Ofsted (June 2022).

The nursery garden is very large and includes a separate baby and toddler garden, toddler and preschool garden, patio, and a forest school garden with a trained forest school leader. Here children are free to explore the natural environment and can develop shared joy and a sense of wonder about nature. In the vegetable patch, children can learn to grow and harvest fruit and vegetables.

Inside there are open and homely environments and children are looked after by the highly qualified and experienced team, including Early Years teachers.

The wide curriculum includes daily and weekly gardening, baking, forest school and yoga. Orchidale also has termly visits and visitors such as the fire brigade and zoo.

To meet all children's unique individual needs this exciting curriculum uses diverse learning styles, from sensory, visual and auditory to kinaesthetic, musical and naturalistic.

Orchidale's teaching values healthy active days and provides great choices in healthy eating. This extends to care for a healthy planet. The home cooking uses local produce, fruit and vegetables, as well as nursery children's ‘own grown veg’ from the vegetable plot.

My son has been going to Orchidale since he turned 2, he is absolutely thriving and I can't thank one staff member in the Robins room enough. She has helped my son settle in from day one, and helped him thrive since. The staff member is so kind, caring and my son is just super happy in her company.
All the ladies in the robins room have helped my son massively. Just a big shout-out to three of them in particular. Thank you!

Our daughter started here in September 2023 and we could not have chosen a better place to send her. They have visitors to the nursery or go on visits nearly every week from going to the local care home or alpacas coming to visit. She is experiencing something new every week.
The nursery itself is
a fantastic environment for play but also to learn skills and risk-taking. They do cooking club, woodwork, growing vegetables and even have chickens they help look after.
The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and approachable. They are available to have a chat if your child needs support with anything.
Our daughter comes home filthy but this means she has had the best day and to be honest we would be worried if she was clean!

As a very anxious and worried first-time mum leaving their child at nursery for the first time. I can't thank Orchidale and the staff enough. Not only did they put my mind at rest that my son is safe, happy and thriving they also allowed me to develop as a mum and often realise things I was going through
were totally normal. Thank you so much and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to another mum.

My daughter has attended Orchidale from 1 years old and it's the best choice we made for her. She settled in so well early on and has had a wonderful journey. All the staff are so caring and supportive and put on a wide range of activities throughout the day which makes for a wonderful experience every
day she attends, building confidence and curiosity every time. The forest school and outdoor play with friends is so great for her to experience regularly. She is excited to start school but we will be sad to leave! We definitely recommend Orchidale Nursery.

We absolutely love Orchidale! Trusting your children with people can be hard, but all the staff are just wonderful and make it feel so easy knowing that they are safe, well cared for and having tons of fun!
Our son has been at Orchidale for over 2 years and our daughter started at the end of 2023.
Both have had the same lady as their first key person and we couldn't have been happier. Her calm and caring approach has meant both settled into nursery very happily! Our son is now in pre-school and has a lovely lady as his key person, who again we are very chuffed about. As our son who struggles with hypermobility, has been nurtured and helped to grow in his own time. Plus he always comes home with a massive smile having had a lot of fun with her! The enhanced provisions have seen them raising ducks from eggs, meeting firefighters, puppet shows to name a few. Throw in all the outdoor play, reading, woodworking etc, I honestly don't know how they fit so much into the day but they do and it's incredible!

Our daughter started Orchidale last September. She is enjoying it so much. This is her first time in a nursery setting and she settled in really well. This is definitely due to the staff at Orchidale being so welcoming. Our daughter loves being outside, so this was the perfect nursery for her. I would

My child has been attending Orchidale since they were 2 years old starting in the toddler room. They have now moved to the 3-5 pre-schoolers and this consists of an outdoor area. Having viewed various nursery settings we chose Orchidale based on their fantastic outdoor pre-school area, knowing our child
loves being outside. I am continuously amazed and impressed by Orchidale’s outdoor facilities. The opportunities for learning and playing are so rich here. The staff are absolutely fantastic, I can’t fault them. The homemade menu rotates and always sounds so delicious, it’s great knowing they are getting nutritious homemade food and you don’t have to send them in with any food on nursery days. The extra provisions my child has done include getting on the minibus to their forest school, going for walks to the local shop and charity shop, getting in the minibus to the pumpkin farm at Halloween, again such lovely opportunities.

Our daughter is thriving at Orchidale. She only goes two days a week but obviously enjoys her time there. Her key workers is amazing, as are the team. The activities that are planned each week really tap into her imagination and creativity. Our only concern is when she has a sore bottom, we understand
it's not always possible to change her nappy straight away and the team does as much as they can to prevent it but it can be very sore. We were really appreciative that you changed to using non-perfumed wipes because of this.

We love Orchidale. It is a safe, homely fun nursery with a great indoor and outdoor space.
Our daughter thrives in the preschool area and has made some wonderful connections with both other children and staff she spends her time with. So much thought goes into activities planned incorporating the
seasonal surroundings which we can then carry on at home. She comes home fulfilled and full of stories which as a parent is really satisfying.
The location and all the effort that goes into keeping the nursery interesting for the children is a great asset too.
The food at the nursery is impressive, with a broad range of homemade healthy food, As parents we receive a seasonal menu showing what she’ll be eating which is great.
In summary, Orchidale is helping build a well-rounded happy child. It’s always a pleasure taking her in and catching up with staff who are both professional, friendly and approachable at pick up and drop off as well as when we have a question with those in the office.

My child loves attending Orchidale Nursery and as a parent I couldn't be happier with our experiences. The key person that our daughter is aligned to is a superstar from a parent's perspective and our child's, I know that as she refers to them as her best friend, sings songs about them when at home
and genuinely loves going to nursery.
I am really pleased we've used Orchidale as our nursery and I couldn't reasonably ask for a better experience. Thank you.

My son has been going to Orchidale since September 2023. Wow, what an experience! He loves it and he loves the staff, they are absolutely amazing. They put so much effort into everything. They have people come in with animals and puppets, they teach the kids about nature and have a forest school. They
take them on trips to the shops to choose their own snacks and foods and sometimes to buy things for dress up. My son has got stronger from all the outside play, more confident and more dexterous. It is amazing to see his exponential progress since he started there compared to his previous setting.

Cannot praise this wonderful nursery enough.
The facilities and the activities for the children are fabulous. Really well thought out, educational and lots of fun.
The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful.
Our daughter looks forward to attending nursery and I will be sad
when it’s time for her to leave and go to big school.

My daughter has been at Orchidale for over a year now and she has truly blossomed during her time at this nursery! The staff are so welcoming to both parents and children and it is easy to address any queries or questions about my daughter's day to day learning. I can't praise the teachers enough for
all their work with my daughter! Not a day has gone by that she hasn't wanted to go to nursery to explore, learn and play. Orchidale is by far the best nursery in the area!

Orchidale was the best decision we ever made for our daughter. The level of care is second to none, the staff are friendly and make so much effort to get to know you and provide the best service. Our daughter has Fijian heritage and it was fantastic to see the nursery celebrating Fiji day, dancing to
Fijian songs and making Fijian recipes. They take the children in wonderful outings. Orchidale is just the most wonderful place for outdoorsy, outgoing children. I would recommend to everyone

Since starting nursery or child development and happiness have thrived. The staff are caring, diligent, committed and so devoted. The activities and enrichment are outstanding, carefully curated and thoughtfully implemented. The food is nutritious, varied and fun with motor skills and socialisation
always prioritised. The updates we receive daily are comprehensive and so far did. Organisation, attention to detail and management are second to none and the entire facility is lovingly maintained. We all adore Orchidale Children's Nursery I'm the wonderful joy it's brought our entire family.

Our child loves Orchidale Children's Nursery, the only improvement/consideration would be more indoor space so there could be a dedicated sleeping area. Our child struggles to sleep with a lot going on around her.
Move the minivans in the car park to free up two large spaces for pick-up/drop-off peak
times.

My child absolutely loves coming to nursery. All the staff are amazing with her. She's learnt so much since starting. They've always been amazing with feedback at the end of the day. I'm extremely happy as her mum to send her here, knowing she is safe and looked after.
