Silks Farm is a wonderful nursery that takes great care of babies, toddlers and children. My daughter always comes back happy and well looked after. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to send their child to a nursery in the area.

We have been coming to Silks Farm for over four years. My daughter began when she was one, she has now left and gone to school. Now our son has been going for over 2-years. Our journey has had a few ups and downs, however, there has now been a change in management. Since the two ladies have taken over, I can see so much improvement. The staff have always been great. My children love them all. I can see how much my children have enjoyed going and how much progress they have made. This is all down to the staff. I would like to thank them for everything they have done over the years.

I trust the staff completely with my children and never have to worry about them whilst they are there.
Most days I’m lucky if I get a goodbye kiss as my daughter is just so excited to see her teachers and friends.

My daughter has been attending Silks Farm since January 2021. As she was a lockdown baby, I was so anxious about leaving her at nursery on my return to work. The staff at Silks Farm did an amazing job at settling her and making sure we all felt supported. They continue to be amazing, and she adores going; she’s constantly outside exploring and being stretched from a development point of view. Genuinely adore this nursery.

My son really enjoys nursery, and he is well cared for. The variety in activities is great, and I like that the kids are outdoors whenever possible. If you have any questions or feedback, I have always found Silks are quick to come back to me with the information needed. We used to get more updates on the app, I'd like to see those increase again to feel more connected to my son's day. When he was in Field Mice, we received regular updates on development, but in Hedgehogs, we don't as much or understand how that is encouraged. I think the menu could be healthier, pizza is a regular occurrence, as is a chocolate whip. Overall, the food is nutritious and varied though, which is great. My son has always bonded well with his various key workers, and you can see they are all really invested in the kids. Overall, a really good nursery I would recommend.

The constant promise that the queueing system would go but it never appeared. I was late for work so many times because of this and we would get emails not to drop children off ten minutes early because you couldn't predict the queues.
Sometimes we would go weeks without any feedback on the app and I'd have to ask numerous times.
Management was quick enough to chase you for things but couldn't confirm they had received an email.
We loved Silk Farm last year but over the last nine months things have gone downhill and we wouldn't recommend it I'm afraid.
On a positive note, the nursery grounds are lovely, including the forest school. The girls in the rabbit room work their socks off and are such a credit to the nursery, as well as the kitchen staff.
Thank you very much for your feedback, and for your kind comments regarding the staff that work in our Rabbit Room. With regards to your further feedback, we are taking your concerns seriously and we have escalated your feedback to the relevant person. If you would like to discuss further, please contact us on 0800 028 4500.
Our son attended Silks Farm from July 2018 and he thoroughly enjoyed his time there. We were very impressed with the level of service, staff seemed very friendly and supportive of our sons needs. Although when Lockdown hit again this year we were very upset with the lack of communication from the nursery. They failed to get back to us many times including failing to follow up with emails from our son’s other setting regarding his development. We were very appalled to find out that Silks Farm risk assessment did not support the government’s advice to limit the amount of settings and when we decided to choose to send our son to his other setting instead of Silks Farm during Lockdown, we were astonished that we still had to pay for his meals he was not receiving as well as the price for his attendance. Therefore we decided to cancel his place and there was no leeway with the notice period we still had to pay the full 8 weeks.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience during the uncertain time of COVID-19. The choice to not split your childcare between two nursery settings is the parent's decision. We are more than happy to discuss the options with you, and a senior member of our team will reach out privately to do so.
Our son loves Silks Farm! He has formed special bonds with his care workers and has come on leaps and bounds with his communication and general confidence since being at nursery. He is happy to be passed over in the mornings, and on the collection, sometimes cries as he wants to stay at nursery!
We love seeing all the activities, games, craft, art and fun our child gets up each day he is in the nursery. He comes home and sings new songs, tries to teach us and finds it very amusing when we get our words or moves wrong. He has continued to develop and grow in his understanding of the world and asks questions about everything. The nursery staff adapt to our child's needs and understand fully how he is coping or not. He always tells me what he has had for dinner/tea, and its always about the desserts! I'm quite jealous! Ha!
Since returning to Silks Farm following lockdown, the team have done everything that they can to keep parents, children and staff as safe as possible. They are happy to take suggestions on how to improve the systems in place, and even though it's a little different, parental support is still there.
Our little boy comes home with his tummy full of delicious home-cooked food and a big smile on his face. They even made him a beautiful birthday cake!
The app is updated most days, and the staff in hedgehogs have been great at helping him settle into the new room.
Nothing is too much trouble for the team at Silks Farm. We recommend Silks Farm to all our friends, family and local community. We intend to use Silks Farm in the future too.
Silks Farm has been a brilliant nursery from the moment our son started. We managed to have a quick look around before Covid 19 took over, but our son wasn't able to start until after the pandemic had hit. Having said that, the nursery was able to help him to settle in quickly and were very flexible with our needs at that time, with nothing being too much trouble.
We love the fact that they have such a good outdoor area, and that this is seen as a priority for the children. Our son loves the outdoors, so this suits us perfectly, although indoors is great too.
The staff are excellent at keeping us informed about our child's progress and send many pictures, which show the learning and fun that is taking place. All of the staff are friendly and happy to help in any way possible. Most importantly, our son seems so happy at nursery, always happily running in the morning. Ultimately this is all we could hope for, and we would highly recommend Silks Farm to anyone looking for a setting.
My partner and I are very happy to choose this nursery for our little one.
Lovely nursery. My son is so happy there and runs off to his carers at every drop off without a backwards glance. Lovely carers and great facilities. I wouldn’t hesitate to send any of my future children there.
In our opinion, the staff have dealt with the restrictions and challenges of covid very well - obviously, if circumstances were different, we would be able to see our daughter in her room and interacting with other children, but we get daily updates and photos of her, which we love, and which helps us feel connected to nursery.
Our little boy has been coming to Silks Farm since he was 13 months old. He loves it and so do we as parents. He is now 3 and has built such amazing relationships with both the staff in his room and other children there. His development has come on leaps and bounds and this is supported so much by the staff, it is lovely to see him become a very confident little boy interested in so much. We particularly love how much outdoor play there is with interesting activities to encourage learning and development in all areas. We look forward to his younger brother starting in a couple of months and having both boys very well cared for by all the staff at Silks Farm. Thank you for all you do. You do an amazing job.
My child is currently in the pre-school room but has attended since they were a baby and my second child has just started in the baby room. All the staff at Silks Farm, in each of the rooms, the office, kitchen and housekeeping are incredibly friendly and helpful. They have been so supportive throughout our time with them. I know my second child is going to be in good hands.
Since starting nursery at 16-months-old, my daughter has thrived and always comes home surprising me with things she has learnt whilst at nursery and most recently that has been with sign language! As it is all inclusive I don't need to worry about packing a bag with nappies or making lunch in the morning which makes my day 10 times easier. The staff have a lovely relationship with my daughter and she always runs in to hug her carers in the morning and blows them kisses when I pick her up! The office staff are very helpful and will offer support when you have any query's in regards to invoices or other paperwork, and more importantly also provide moral support to you as a parent!
My 3-year-old son has been attending Silks Farm since he was a year old and myself and his father have always been overly impressed with the nursery and staff. Although he only attended once a week up until this year (now attending 3 times a week), he has grown so much and we largely put this down to his experiences at the nursery. The facilities and staff are absolutely outstanding and we would highly recommend the nursery to friends and family.
Amazing staff, I can't rate them high enough. The staff team go beyond to ensure my daughter is in the best care. These ladies need to be recognised for their work and dedication and probably given a pay rise.
