Patacake Day Nursery

The staff at Patacake are amazing, they are attentive, caring, supportive, flexible and have worked to the best of their abilities during, after and even before the pandemic. They offer nutritious, healthy and delicious meals to all children as well as a fantastic range of play equipment indoors and outdoors for the children to enjoy and learning resources if the children choose to partake. Well done Patacake!

Having had both my son and nephew attend the nursery from a very early age I could not recommend it enough. Lovely engaging staff that really love their job and are wonderful with the children, giving them confidence and the skills needed for starting primary school.

We highly, highly recommend Patacake. Our youngest has been with them since he was 7 months old and his older brother was with them from 1 year old. Our eldest still loves going back to see the staff. The staff in all the rooms are kind, welcoming and have such clearly positive bonds with the children in their care. This has been so helpful in easing any anxiety about sending our two to nursery at such a relatively young age. The range of learning activities each room provides every day is amazing and it's great to see our youngest using the sign language he's been taught to say please and thank you. Staff give considered feedback at the end of every day and the management have been really great at keeping us up to date with weekly newsletters and ideas for activities to do at home to build on what's being done during the day.

I love hearing that my godson loves his going to nursery. Learning different things and making different things. As well as meeting and making new friends. What really stands out is how genuinely the nursery workers all care for the kids. It’s obvious how much they love them, and how much the kids all enjoy being there. The way they handle this pandemic is impressive and safe.

My son began attending this nursery when he was a year old. We were nervous around his introductions during the pandemic but the staff were fantastic. He has now been there 4 months and loved every day, despite a few initial tears. He has formed such a good bond with the staff in his room, smiling excitedly when we arrive each morning. It has made this year a lot easier to manage as a key worker knowing he is being cared for in a safe environment where he is so happy. The staff supported him in a room transition when he started back after Christmas and were able to do so ensuring covid restrictions were maintained and he settled in well! I was full of nerves for him knowing he hadn’t had the usual transition days due to not mixing of rooms but I was surprised at how relaxed and confident he was going in on his first day in the new room. I can not thank the staff enough and highly recommend this nursery.

My son started this nursery halfway through the year and despite the difficulties, covid has brought up, it has been a constant positive for us as a family. He settled in well and this was supported by the staff in the baby room who clearly care and value him. The nursery are consistent in providing updates around how they are ensuring appropriate procedures are in place to keep all the children at the nursery safe and guidance around the pandemic are met.

Patacake was the best thing in 2020 by far!

My youngest child started at Patacake at five months old and has now been attending for nearly a year. That year has, of course, coincided with the outbreak of the pandemic, meaning very difficult times for everyone. The nursery has been a constantly positive, effective and reassuring presence during that time and I could not be happier. The genuine warmth from the staff in his room is clear to see and has meant my child has developed strong bonds with the people who look after him every morning. He is confident and happy going to nursery and has made leaps and bounds in his development as a result. I know that at Patacake he is always well cared for by people who know and value him, and that's really everything I am looking for. I'd recommend the nursery without hesitation.

Our son joined the baby room and settled quickly thanks to the caring staff. He is now in pre-toddlers and thriving. The facilities and environment are top class and the children are involved in a wide array of activities every day.

My daughter started going to Patacake Day Nursery in September 2020 when she was 17 months. She has been going for almost 4 months and she loves it so much and that’s what we as parents care about the most. The staff there are very caring, patient and nice. At the beginning, we felt worried about her settling so we kept asking different questions. The manager and other staff were always so patient and answered every question we had, which reassured us a lot. There is one thing I love the most about this nursery and that is that they are always open to any suggestions and respect the parents’ options. It’s a very nice experience in Patacake Day Nursery.

As a mother, I could not be happier to leave my daughter with the Patacake staff. Due to her finding it difficult to part from me, the staff was amazing in supporting myself and my child to settle in. Her development has grown in heaps and feel we have been supported all the way with her learning and development. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a safe environment for their child, with caring and friendly staff.

So I'm an uncle of a child who goes to Patacake and the staff are just so nice and friendly. We struggled to get my nephew in sometimes and the staff were so understanding about how it's a new place. They definitely understood the needs of the child. I can highly recommend this nursery for development!

Super friendly staff and management team. My son went to this nursery five years ago and now we send our daughter too. The communication between staff and parents is brilliant - this is extremely important when the kids are little as you want to know how they are in the nursery and what they did. The staff always try to feedback to you with lots of information and they are very patient about your questions and concerns. They do lots of activities during the day so kids have lots of fun there. Sometimes when I go to pick up my daughter was still busy playing.

The best day nursery in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire. A lovely friendly feel - the approachable staff and my daughter flourished. Very detailed daily report and a first-class settling in program. They also gave my daughter the confidence to transition to primary school. Thank you so much Patacake family. I've always recommended Patacake and always will.

The staff here are wonderful. They make everyone feel warm and welcome. The child I nanny for started in the pre-toddler room early August and I have seen such a positive change in her. They have helped her build up confidence and many motor skills. The staff, whether qualified or unqualified, know what they are doing and care for each child deeply. The outings and experiences they get to enjoy are wonderful and very child friendly. They learn a lot more than I thought they would at a nursery. I would definitely recommend here. Even the manager and deputy manager are really helpful, clearing up any questions or concerns you have and are such kind loving people.

I would highly recommend the nursery.

My nephew has been going to Patacake since he was 11-months-old, and this year he graduated from the nursery from their Preschool room. The amount of things he had learnt is commendable and all praises for the staff that have helped him develop all through his early years; my sister says it was her best decision ever!

My son really enjoys going to the nursery every day. He's been there since Pre-Toddler stage and most of the staff seem to know him well and recognise him. He's got a really good appetite for food and I am glad that the nursery prepares hot food every day for him to enjoy and as parents we wouldn't need to worry about food at all! The nursery curriculum seems to contain a good mix of physical exercises as well as quiet times such as reading and singing. He always surprises us at home with new things or new movements he has learnt. The nursery is also very good at managing social distancing during Covid with separate entrances for different rooms. Overall it's a very good nursery and I would no doubt recommend.

The only thing to suggest is maybe to introduce some apps such as Tapestry so that parents can better track what children did during the day with some photos maybe. Would love to see that happen so that we can more tangibly experience the happy moments that our son had at the nursery too!
