Patacake Day Nursery

We love this nursery. Our daughter started in the baby room and is now 2.5 and has just moved in the toddler room after a brief stint in pre-toddlers. We cannot fault a single staff member. They are kind, treat the children as individuals and are utterly professional. Our daughter is thriving thanks to their remarkable care.

Patacake also has a robust and sensible approach to Covid and has done since the beginning. We have felt informed throughout but experienced very little disruption - the best of both worlds.

Perhaps the admin side could be a little more efficient but to be honest I think that may be par for the course with nursery settings. For any anxious parent worried about their child starting in a new setting I could not recommend this place more highly.

The staff was always great and very supportive. They take extra care in getting to know your child very well and adapt activities according to the child's interest. And you can see they do everything with so much love and care for everybody. My daughter was really happy here.

Our daughter has attended Patacake Day Nursery since August 2021 and we are hugely impressed by them. She honestly runs in the door every morning, she loves it so much. The staff are excellent and keep us updated on her progress within the room. Also, their food menu is actually incredible. I'm definitely envious of what my daughter is served! 10000% recommend.

I highly recommend this nursery. The carers and staff are all very friendly, and it is a well-organised enterprise. The development activities my son has experienced at the nursery have really helped him.

My son has been going to Patacake since July 2020 and has developed with the help of the great team. He’s loved being there in the pre-toddler room and loves the staff who are very friendly and helpful.

A brilliant nursery just off Mill Road. We have been with Patacake for three years and both my sons loved their time there. We have got to know all the staff and moved through all the rooms. Excellent structure to the day, really friendly staff, good management, nutritious food and they managed things during the pandemic really well. I recommend highly!

Patacake Day Nursery is a lovely friendly nursery, the staff are lovely and support and care for the children amazingly. They have plenty of activities for the children and plenty of garden space for each room so the children can enjoy the fresh air and outside time. They are fed well and the food is subject to all dietary requirements. I highly recommend Patacake.

My nephew started at Patacake in June this year and has been looked after fantastically by a team of excellent staff. The facility is well planned with great resources and a welcoming atmosphere.

My son started here recently and since he has started I have noticed a big change in him, within 2 weeks of him starting he learnt to crawl and pull himself up, the staff are always welcoming and he's so happy to see the staff every morning.

The proof: my son complains when I pick him up because... he wants to stay more at Patacake.

My daughter has been attending Patacake Day Nursery for more than two years. The activities and toys provided are carefully selected by staff members who clearly care about children. You won't find old tattered toys as toys are well looked after and frequently replaced. The bathrooms and play areas are well cleaned and spacious. My daughter couldn't wait to go back after the first lockdown. The staff members are warm, caring and experienced. I'm a professional who works part-time and sometimes requires extra nursery sessions at very short notice. The management team has always been amazing and accommodating. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My son has been attending Patacake Day Nursery for over a year now. During the pandemic, he moved up to the preschool room where he settled immediately, despite having new staff and a different environment. He has continued to thrive in this room, six months so far and has been really engaged with the staff, participating in activities at his own pace and with encouragement. My child has some recently diagnosed additional needs which the setting have embraced and been supportive of. They immediately implemented any changes that he required and always take the time to explain or keep me up to speed with any developments during his time at the setting. Patacake Day Nursery has been excellent at nurturing my child and helping him to become his best self, even in the midst of uncertainty. I would not hesitate to recommend this setting as a safe and caring environment for young children.

My son started in the toddler's room run by one member of staff. My son was always very happy and we were getting updates every time on pickup. The transition to the pre-school room went well with all the support from the rooms staff. He really enjoyed all the activities and its a really good preparation for reception. He still mentions his friends and teachers from the nursery. Big thank you to all the staff and management.

Me and my partner have been very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and all the security measures put in place during the pandemic. Still always putting the care and happiness of the children first.

I am very pleased with the level of care which my son is experiencing at the Patacake. He seems to be eager to go there every morning when I say “Time to go to the nursery”. He takes his backpack and runs happily to the door. They have plenty of learning opportunities through different activities and play. The environment is very safe and the staff are friendly and caring. Fresh meals are prepared every day which can satisfy even picky eaters.

My niece has attended this nursery for over a year and a half and absolutely loves spending time with her nursery friends while engaging in the wide variety of activities that the friendly staff constantly comes up with.

My children attended Patacake over the last 5 years and have loved every minute. Both started at a year old and have progressed through all the rooms. My kids can't wait to get there in the morning, race in to see the staff and emerge at the end of the day smiling, singing or hugging someone. At home, they talk about who they want to play with and which staff gave the best cuddle that day. Even after my daughter went to reception she still wanted to come back to visit and is greeted like an old friend. They have a dynamic programme of forest school, weekly themed learning and the educational provision is superb. The food is interesting and nutritious and my kids learned independence. Communication with parents is terrific. Particularly over this challenging year, the staff have gone out of their way to keep the kids safe and provide the best possible experience. They invest in training their staff which is reflected in the care. It's the sort of place where you feel every kid is special.

My grandchild started in the pre-toddler room and am extremely happy with how they have settled. The staff are extremely welcoming and very passionate about what they do. My grandchild always comes home smile and always so happy with her day at nursery! The staff provide such an array of activities for all, they’re all patient and welcoming! The environment and atmosphere is so warm and friendly. Would most definitely recommend the nursery to all!
