Patacake Day Nursery

My son's keyworker has been exceptionally kind, caring and supportive-not only to my child, but to us as a family. My son feels secure and happy in her care and she consistently provides thoughtful updates that keep us well-informed.

I've really come to appreciate how holistic her approach is. She has taken the time to understand the wider context of our family situation and has shown genuine consideration for the factors that may affect our child.

The nursery is fun, friendly and welcoming and I would recommend.

Great facilities, very clean and organised. There is plenty for little ones to do, including a variety of activities, toys and books. The outdoor garden space is great too.

The activities in the rooms are creative, educational and fun, with P.E. lessons each week ranging from football to yoga, crafts, exciting toys in the garden to explore. The structure of the day is well thought out and caters well to the needs of each age group, with group time and opportunities for imaginary play. But most importantly of all, the staff care deeply for the children, giving a peace of mind that money can't buy. The best money I spend each month. Thank you Patacake!

My boys are thriving here, and have been since they arrived just over a year ago. The staff are caring, creative, supportive, engaged, and helpful. Each day the boys do activities that are interesting and thoughtfully put together. The staff know them as individuals which is so important. The boys have also been supported well with their hearing needs.

We are happy with our choice of nursery in Patacake. Our boy started when he was one year old and is now three. He developed nicely and had good relations with other children and staff. The staff was always friendly and involved. The meals are varied and suitable for children, there are plenty of activities during the day, and our son was happy at the end of the day.

Our daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 9 months old. She went through babies, pre-toddlers and toddlers groups and we are very happy with the care received. While at the beginning she didn't want to stay that only lasted a few days or weeks. Now, she wants to leave nursery the last one, always happy and it is thanks to an amazing team of carers. She is super fond of all of them and developed a great bond with each of them. I totally recommend this nursery.

It’s now nearly 2 years since we started sending our children to Patacake, after moving to Cambridge from London, and it's an excellent, well-run nursery. Having a good nursery very much helped us settle into a new city at a tricky time, when a new baby arrived 4 weeks after we arrived and we were still waiting to move into a new home, living temporarily with extended family. Patacake felt like an important rock amidst lots of chaos - helping to provide stability at an uncertain time. I've always been impressed by the efficient and professional way the nursery was managed by the manager and the motivated staff who seem committed to the children.

The staff are amazing with the kids, my daughter loves so much going to nursery that takes me a while to convince her to go home at the end of the day! She is been at nursery since April 2022 and have not had a negative experience to date with the nursery. The update system is great and in addition, staff are always keen to give you verbal update on how she's been doing during the day. And not only her key worker, but everybody at the nursery seems to know my daughter by name!

Our son loves going to Patacake, the staff are friendly and the activities they do are varied and fun. The nursery is well run, quick to answer any queries. The menu is simple but varied. Highly recommended!

Both my children have absolutely loved Patacake. The staff care about the children and take a lot of care to make their days fun and engaging and varied. The leadership is great, there's good communication and the staff seem happy.

Ultimately, it's the staff that make the place, so warm and welcoming and my children love everyone that works there. Would highly recommend (and have!)

My son has been in the baby room from 7 months old, took him only 5 days to start, loving the girls in baby room. They connected with my son extremely fast, makes me very emotional and happy at the same time to see my son smiling every morning and every time I pick him up at lunchtime. Thank you so much to all the staff and really recommend this place. Hopefully my review will make it easier for all parents to make a decision.

Our daughter started at the nursery in 2021, and our son in 2023. They are only in the nursery one day per week, and the staff have taken the time to get to know them and their personalities as though they were there five days per week. I cannot recommend Patacake enough - very caring, fun and thoughtful. They are always updating the nursery - the gardens, new equipment etc, as well as having activities like Zoo lab and a lovely recent Patacake party to celebrate their 40 years. Both children are big fans of their key workers, as are we!

My nephew started in the baby room and the family have felt so welcome into the setting and the baby room. The room feels so warm and empathetic for parents and families anxious about leaving their children for the first time. As an aunt I am impressed with the amount of care and education the staff set up for the children.

My daughter has been at Patacake for nearly two years. We are so grateful to the staff for their care of her. She looks forward to going in and she comes out bouncing. Outdoor space is excellent, activities are fun and educational and food is good and varied. Staff are friendly, approachable, professional and kind. Wholly recommend this nursery.

We currently have our 2.5-year-old daughter at this nursery and she has been with the nursery since January 2022. We have not had a negative experience to date with the nursery. Our daughter has a non IGE fish/shellfish allergy and the nursery worked with the care plan provided by the allergy clinic to ensure that our child is well looked after. The team have provided advice with potty training, sleep issues and numerous other things over our time with them. The nursery always has interesting events for the children to take part in such as trips to the local park, bringing in a local company to run events like sports days or zoo labs. My favourite experience to date was when I was picking up my daughter recently and just before we left, she needed a nappy change so I offered to do it. The staff showed me to the changing room and there was a little stair leading up to the changing table which allowed the children to climb up themselves, fostering a great sense of independence.

My son started attending the nursery at the age of 17 months. During Covid, we decided to keep him on until he starts reception in September 2024. Each team in all my son's classes have been amazing with him, and he loved going in every day. My son has a speech delay, and the support the nursery manager and team have provided has been incredible, and as first-time parents, we sincerely appreciated everything they have all done for us. Saying goodbye will be very sad, but we’re very lucky to have had such a lovely experience with such fabulous people.

All my three kids went to Patacake Day Nursery and really enjoyed their time there. They were always eager to go to and play with their friends which is a testament to the safe, fun, and nurturing environment at Patacake. The staff are really kind, supportive and flexible, they accommodated a lot of requests from us especially with my son who needed extra care etc. The nursery is spacious and well-equipped so the kids were exposed to a range of activities, learnings, and play. Nothing beats having peace of mind that your children are happy when at nursery, for me Patacake was peace of mind. We have moved hence why we have to change nursery else we would still be here. It's been over 4 years in total, no complaints- just peace. Thank you for everything! We will definitely miss Patacake!
