Excellent nursery, all staff are very friendly.
Fantastic. No worries or complaints. Always been happy here.
My daughter is about to start school and has been attending Young Sussex since she was eight months old. We love it. She has excelled whilst being here. All the staff are amazing.
My son has blossomed since beginning at Young Sussex last year. His social skills and confidence have grown massively and his natural curiosity has been nurtured and encouraged. He comes home excited to tell me about the activities he's participated in and he's always telling me stories about his friends and teachers at nursery. His keyworker is a kind, thoughtful, intelligent, caring woman with a wonderful sense of humour. I'm so glad about my choice of Young Sussex because my son is thriving there.
My daughter started Young Sussex at 10 months (she’s now 4.5 yrs) and my son at 6 months, they both love the nursery and I cannot praise them enough. They are accommodating, friendly and the environment is home from home making my return to work so much easier. They’ve had a great start to their education and if it wasn’t for starting school then we wouldn’t be leaving!
Our daughter has been at Young Sussex at Dyke Road for the last four years and we couldn’t be happier. All the team in Cubs, Tigers and Lions have been absolutely fantastic and help her during all the stages of her development. We have always felt happy to leave her there and she has always really enjoyed her time there with all the friends she has made there. We definitely made the right decision 4 years ago.
Knowing that this nursery will likely see him through to his school days, I feel the weight of responsibility. I was immediately impressed with Young Sussex (from carers to the office team) and after a thorough tour, decided this would be his nursery for the foreseeable.
He joined a month ago and already has come on leaps and bounds with his speech. His key person is always there with a smile to welcome him in (as are all of the wonderful ladies that work at Young Sussex) and I can honestly say that, even though he hasn't been at the nursery for long, I would recommend to anyone. They are professional, fun, kind, caring and attentive. All the qualities you want from someone who is looking after your precious one while you go off to earn a crust!
Thank you Young Sussex, we look forward to the future!
My other two children, who are now 8 and 6 have lovely memories of Young Sussex and love dropping their sister off in the morning.
We also appreciate the regular photos on Tapestry, we enjoy looking through these and seeing our daughter's achievements and what she's been doing each day.
We have developed a positive relationship with our daughter's key worker too which has been so important to us.
My son has settled in really well and we are really happy with every aspect of the nursery. They provide a diverse range of activities throughout the day and show genuine care and kindness to all the children.
My daughter has been at Young Sussex since she was 10 months old and always loved coming to nursery. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable and have helped my daughter's development from baby through to toddler. She has always struggled with food and the staff have been so patient and encouraging with her. I would thoroughly recommend Young Sussex.
My son's key worker is amazing as is the nursery. When he started last year, he'd never been away from me before, the nursery made sure he had plenty of settling in sessions and kept me updated throughout the day. Over a year later, we've both made friends at the nursery. He's learning every day whilst enjoying all the unique activities/rooms the nursery offers and I leave him each day knowing he's in the best hands.
My daughter loves nursery. She has many friends and the staff give a warm, safe space.
Plenty of staff, all very positive and happy. My daughter has really come out of her shell and is clearly finding her time here very positive. I have not had any reason for concern and am very happy we chose to bring her to Young. Thank you to you all. Have a great Christmas.
The nursery is the only place also where she is guaranteed to eat properly which we are extremely thankful for.
All in all, we are very happy to have chosen Young Sussex for her to grow in.
My daughter joined the nursery when she was 1 and attended for over 2.5 years. Young Sussex Brighton provides a very professional childcare and yet all the staff are very friendly and approachable. I very much appreciated regular daily updates, an online journal where we could see what she was up to as well as the parents evenings. She has learned a lot throughout the time she's spent with her key persons, her friends and all the nursery staff. She felt very comfortable there and we were all sad when she had to leave the nursery. The long opening hours are also a plus for working parents.
My youngest child left Young Sussex Dyke Road in August 2018 and we were both sad to say goodbye. She connected so fantastically with the teachers and they had so much love for her. Even when I dropped her off screaming, I knew she'd be showered with attention and comfort and would settle quickly. This is the first time in 6 years I haven't had a child in YS or waiting to go to YS and I feel like a part of me is missing! We absolutely love the nursery and could not recommend it more.
Our daughter spent three years at the nursery and we could not have been happier. She has had great care in a stimulating, friendly, and loving environment. The staff are wonderful and the flexibility around organising sessions has been extremely helpful.
We have been very pleased with Young Sussex nurseries. All the staff are lovely and it has been excellent preparation for my daughter starting school. We love that you can swap days around and attend extra sessions. The outdoor play area is my children’s favourite thing about the nursery.
Our little boy went to Young Sussex for a year and absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly and reassuring that I was never worried about leaving him. He would come home full of new songs, words and chatting about all the friends he had made. I would definitely recommend this nursery, the only reason we left was because we moved away from the area.

Meet the Team (1)
After leaving school, I studied Health & Social Care, knowing that I wanted a career helping people. This included a placement in a nursery, which I loved, and I’ve not looked back since!
For ten years, I worked my way up in a local nursery to be their Deputy Manager. I was also working with children aged 3-16 in a Women’s Refuge Project (now RISE). In 2007, I joined Young Sussex as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Nursery Manager in early 2012.
As a manager, I enjoy being on the frontline and having that initial and lasting contact with parents. As a parent of two children who also attended Young Sussex, I feel I can relate to parents starting at the nursery, empathise with their situation and help them throughout their child’s time at nursery.
