Do not hesitate to bring your children to this "big family".
My daughter has had a fantastic time at Young Sussex since starting at the beginning of the year. The range of activities provided has not only brought her joy but has supported her development and I've seen her thrive in this environment. We are very happy with our choice of nursery and we can't wait to see what she gets up to next term!
Young Sussex has been marvellous for my daughter and previously my son! They are lovely professional people with attention to detail, nothing is too much trouble, they have good communication systems in place, and strive to improve if needed, highly recommended for great child care and learning.
Young Sussex is a fantastic nursery and I never fail to recommend it to new parents locally. The environment is so nurturing for children and parents! My son has had a wonderful start there. The staff are absolutely brilliant, I'm really happy with the space and the range of activities offered to children.
My son attended Young Sussex Nursery Brighton from January 2021 to September 2023. I could not be happier with his experience at Young Sussex and I am so glad I chose this nursery for him. The staff have been incredible throughout, so nurturing, kind and unwavering in their support for him and all of his needs. I have always felt heard and respected by the team and felt reassured leaving him in their capable hands. The food was always great and the kids spend a lot of time playing outdoors, which I love! My son always came home having had a fun day with lots to tell me about. He made some lovely friends at nursery and I believe all the staff contributed to boosting his confidence and allowing him to express himself and feel safe. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. Thank you to everyone at Young Sussex for giving him an amazing start to early years life!
Young Sussex is a wonderful nursery. They took very good care of my child, which helped to develop her in many ways! The session timing helped me to get childcare that fit my schedule. Everyone was caring and sweet, so my daughter became very attached to everyone there. I would recommend this nursery without hesitation.
My daughter has been with the nursery for the last three months and is always happy for us to leave her and always looks like she is having a lovely time when we collect her. No complaints! Staff are lovely and informative and give you a run down of the day.
My daughter has been going to Young Sussex Nursery Brighton for the last 3 months. Being my first child, I wasn't sure what to expect, but my experience and my daughter's experience has been nothing but positive. All the staff are lovely, and I am always greeted with a big smile at pick up time. Would not hesitate to recommend.
My son has been at Young Sussex Nursery for five weeks and he loves it. The staff all seem really attentive and make time at the end of the day to really chat to you about his day. We get regular updates throughout the day on the app and I'm always impressed with the activities they get up to, everything from crafts to cookery. We are so glad that we chose Young Sussex Nursery.
The whole time we have had a positive and happy experience, even though the uncertainty of the pandemic. The staff were always great, and our daughter was always happy to go in and had a great time, and we always felt she was in a safe, secure environment.
I would recommend Young Sussex to anyone and am planning to send my son there once I return to work.
After eight years and two children at Young Sussex, I could not recommend Young Sussex highly enough. My girls flourished there, and I am sad we are now at the end of an era. The staff have been lovely over the years and provided great support during the pandemic when my child needed a place to be while we worked for the NHS.
We were very sad to leave (due to moving) but were very happy in the knowledge that our son had one of the best starts in life in the nursery with the help of Young Sussex. I could not recommend them enough - they are fantastic!
Not to mention the ongoing daily support with his stammer, food allergies and sore skin.
Despite all of the above, my son is absolutely thriving, full of confidence and happiness. I have no doubt that he has had the best start to school life, and his future success has been shaped by his experiences during these early years at Young Sussex.
We honestly couldn’t recommend them enough!
From start to end, they’ve supported us as a family and our daughter through the entire process.
She will truly miss all the staff and going to Young Sussex.
It’s been our extended family for the last 18 months.
The care and education provided are top-notch; having a child five years older, I wish I’d known about Young Sussex before. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Young Sussex for our memories, but she is so ready to start her next adventure. We hope that Young Sussex continues to thrive for a very long time.
Also, she always enjoyed the food. They have a great outdoor space and always do the most incredible project to keep the little minds busy.
Our son loved his time at Young Sussex. He made brilliant friends and learned so much about who he is and the world around him. We have been incredibly grateful to his key workers and room leaders (Bears and Tigers), who have always encouraged his interests, supported his development and celebrated him for who he is. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic, they have helped him feel safe and settled, and he was always so enthusiastic to go in. We were just sad to move away!
The staff, throughout both age groups, were exceptionally nice and welcoming, and we felt so comfortable that they were taking good care of our little one.
They play with them and always seem to be doing different activities with a nice variety, and our son always came home happy and excited by what he had done/drawn/made that day.
I would highly recommend Young Sussex.
The staff has always been helpful to us. Always smiling. My child has always wanted to go to nursery. She left satisfied and happy. I hope that every child that comes to you will be as happy as mine.
From the moment we stepped inside Young Sussex, my partner and I had great vibes about the place - and it has more than lived up to our expectations. Our daughter has attended for over a year and has been so happy here. The staff are so caring and come up with such interesting, stimulating activities for the children. I love seeing what our daughter gets up to. The rooms are wonderful environments for the children and the back garden is a lovely place to explore: climbing frame, plants and flowers, and lots of room. It's also an incredibly well-run nursery (very quick responses to emails), with lots of flexibility in terms of times/sessions, which makes such a huge difference. The only reason we are leaving is because we are moving house: I'm sad we can't take Young Sussex with us. Thank you to all the staff for making my daughter's time here so special.
My daughter has been at Young Sussex Brighton for a year. She has loved every second of it. She has really developed and learnt a lot. She has formed so many close friendships there and has bonded well with the staff. She loves going to nursery and always finishes excited with stories to tell and songs to sing. The staff are very caring and friendly and genuinely enjoy their jobs. They really have made such a positive impact and she talks about them all the time and I'm very grateful for her time there. I want to thank the key workers and all the staff working there. My daughter will miss you all and her classmates very much.

Meet the Team (1)
After leaving school, I studied Health & Social Care, knowing that I wanted a career helping people. This included a placement in a nursery, which I loved, and I’ve not looked back since!
For ten years, I worked my way up in a local nursery to be their Deputy Manager. I was also working with children aged 3-16 in a Women’s Refuge Project (now RISE). In 2007, I joined Young Sussex as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Nursery Manager in early 2012.
As a manager, I enjoy being on the frontline and having that initial and lasting contact with parents. As a parent of two children who also attended Young Sussex, I feel I can relate to parents starting at the nursery, empathise with their situation and help them throughout their child’s time at nursery.
