We have been very pleased with Young Sussex nurseries. All the staff are lovely and it has been excellent preparation for my daughter starting school. We love that you can swap days around and attend extra sessions. The outdoor play area is my children’s favourite thing about the nursery.
Our little boy went to Young Sussex for a year and absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly and reassuring that I was never worried about leaving him. He would come home full of new songs, words and chatting about all the friends he had made. I would definitely recommend this nursery, the only reason we left was because we moved away from the area.
My daughter spent over 1.5 years at Young Sussex Dyke Road and was very happy there. She had great key workers who looked out for her and always gave me regular updates on how she was getting on, both when picking her up each day as well as through the Tapestry online journal. I really valued having the 7 am start option which I used a lot and also liked having the ability to do swap days which allowed me to be more flexible when needed.
Our girls love going to Young Sussex and it has really helped fuel their development. The staff are great and make sure they have a busy and fun day. Always happy to help and a good support for us.
My daughter attended Young Sussex for a year and a half and had the best time there. She loved the staff and all the activities which she got to take part in. Her confidence and range of skills were very much expanded by attending this nursery.
Our son has been at Young Sussex from the age of 5 - 20 months. He has been so well looked after and really enjoyed his time there - it's been great to see pictures and videos of him playing. This, combined with the flexibility they offer (extended days, swaps for holidays, additional days), has made it a fantastic nursery that we are very sorry to leave.
This is a lovely nursery. It's big, but feels smaller because the children are often in smaller groups. The facilities are great, really spacious, and my daughter has settled in well. The staff are lovely too!
My child has attended Young Sussex since he was 6 months old and is due to leave next year when he starts school - which will be very sad. I have nothing but praise for the nursery and staff who I have found to be friendly and helpful. My son has made lots of friends and has developed a great deal due to his time at the nursery.
Reception is always lovely and greets you with a smile.
My son goes to the Lion Cubs and the staff up there are just brilliant. Always happy to stop and chat and update on the day. Everyone else we bump into along the way is always bubbly.
We have had a wonderful experience with Young Sussex so far. Our daughter settled in really well and she seems to enjoy herself very much, eats well, is well cared for and takes part in lots of activities. She adores the staff who are warm and welcoming. The organisation and management is excellent and they've been very helpful and accommodating to our needs.
We couldn't be happier with Young Sussex. Our two children attend and we feel their care and development at Young Sussex is second to none. They are always happy to attend and have such close bonds with the teachers. As parents, we feel happy leaving them there for the day knowing that not only are all their needs being met but they are being nurtured and genuinely cared for by the fantastic staff and management.
After a bad experience with a different nursery, we opted to change to this one. FANTASTIC!!!! My child is very happy so it was definitely the best decision I have made. He is learning more by the day and looks forward to going to nursery.
Great staff, a great nursery in general. All the kids love it, ours loved it too. Sad to be leaving, but moving away so no option to stay. We'd been going there for 2.5 years and not a bad word to say about Young Sussex.
The nursery was very good overall, and any issues that did come up were attended to by a very approachable management team.
We had an overall very good experience with Young Sussex Nursery, Dyke Road. The staff were attentive, caring and engaged with our daughter. Great communication from management and a brilliant range of activities for the kids including themed days and external visitors.
Since we chose Young Sussex, Dyke Road as the nursery for our daughter, the experience we have had has been of the highest standard. She settled into the environment extremely easily and all of the staff made her (and us) feel welcome.
The range of activities and education of the children was always first class, they were professional, friendly and she always enjoyed going there. The nursery provided regular feedback on how she was developing and encouraged her to learn new skills and respect other children. The nursery has set her up for the transition from nursery to school life, which she has also embraced.
We would highly recommend Young Sussex Nursery, a well run, highly effective and excellent nursery.
The nursery is a fun place with lots going on to keep them entertained and distracted and the quality of staff and care is excellent. My children had a real bond with key workers and the other nursery staff so they were always keen to attend.
There is plenty of space inside and out and lots of messy play. The nursery are very flexible which was great as I am a contractor so I would often have to alter sessions. Also, they are one of the few if not only nurseries that I could find that did long hours for when I was working away or in London.
Friendly and supportive nursery. My daughter had fantastic relationships with her two keyworkers over two years. Challenging and creative activities with excellent preparations for reception. A cosmopolitan atmosphere with caring staff.
The whole team at Young Sussex are not only caring, but we found that our son has had a fantastic start to his education, learning all the basics, required to set him up for Primary School.
Nothing was ever an issue with the management with having to swap days around to accommodate holidays etc and I was kept updated regularly with his development.
My son loved his time at this nursery, and we would recommend it to anyone.
My daughter started at six months and stayed all the way through to the last day. Now at 'big girl school' she still remembers and talks about the great times she had at Young Sussex.
Spacious and well equipped with an outside area and a most loved muddy kitchen.
Loads of activities, firemen visits, vet visits, outdoor days ... can't fail.
Would definitely recommend it.

Meet the Team (1)

After leaving school, I studied Health & Social Care, knowing that I wanted a career helping people. This included a placement in a nursery, which I loved, and I’ve not looked back since!
For ten years, I worked my way up in a local nursery to be their Deputy Manager. I was also working with children aged 3-16 in a Women’s Refuge Project (now RISE). In 2007, I joined Young Sussex as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Nursery Manager in early 2012.
As a manager, I enjoy being on the frontline and having that initial and lasting contact with parents. As a parent of two children who also attended Young Sussex, I feel I can relate to parents starting at the nursery, empathise with their situation and help them throughout their child’s time at nursery.
