Bluebell Barn Children's Nursery offers a secure and stimulating setting where children can enjoy a fun approach to early years learning, while parents can feel confident that staff are qualified in safeguarding each child's well-being.

The nursery has big airy rooms where your child will learn and have fun. It looks over fields and woods and has a large enclosed garden in which children can explore and enjoy a variety of activities.

The nursery is ideally located for busy local parents, close to main commuter routes and welcoming both full and part-time needs.

Parents are supported in getting involved as much as possible and staff offer a regular opportunity for discussion and feedback.

  • 2025 FEES FOR FULL DAYCARE NON-FUNDED:


    Children aged 0 – 5 years: Week full £340.00 per week / Full Day (8 am –6 pm) £76.00 per day / Session morning (8 am-1 pm) £49.00 per session / Session afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) £49.00 per session.

  • Parents can book their child in to attend from 7:30am and up to 6:30pm. These are charged at £8.00 per half hour or part half hour.
    Terms of Payment (please see our Terms and Conditions).
    A non-refundable fee of £25 is payable on registration, along with an £80 refundable deposit for securing a place.
    Fees are charged on a monthly basis.
    Fees are payable monthly in advance, by standing order or BACS by the last day of the preceding month or by cheque by the 24th of the preceding month. The nursery closes at 1 pm Christmas Eve, for the period between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. No charge is made during scheduled nursery closures.

Would just like to say a Hugh thank you to blue Bell barn nursery over the last few weeks. Our daughter has been struggling with going to nursery going from running in with out a care in the world to being really upset before we even get there. We believe this is due to a big change coming to our family
in the next few weeks of a new baby! All the staff at the nursery have been nothing but supportive of us and our daughter helping us through this tough time l, giving us ideas to help her and reassuring us that she is okay during the day through pictures, messages and phone calls. Nothing has been too much and our daughter is now slowly coming out the other side. They have listen to what she wants and helped her through the day playing with her 1-1 or leaving her to play when she wants to be by herself. I can't thank the staff and managers enough for their support and help in what has been difficult for us as parents to get through

Our son has attended Bluebell Barn for two and a half years and has developed so much in that time. He has embraced most aspects of the nursery life and engaged well with all the various members of staff who have worked with him throughout his journey.
They can never do enough to help or support us,
working alongside us as parents and implementing requests on a daily basis.

My son (3 years old) started at Bluebell Barn in September 2023. From day one, his progression has been noticeable and he's really enjoying his time there. The staff are amazing, the setting is in my opinion one of the best nurseries in East Sussex, I cannot rate it high enough. The communication I
receive from the staff on all matters is great, so nice to see pictures uploaded pretty much every session and the detail behind them too. So glad he is a part of Bluebell.

My son started at Bluebell Barn in June when he was just 9 months old and we have been over the moon with the care and support they have given to us as a family. We were naturally a little anxious about our son starting nursery at such a young age, but everyone at Bluebell Barn went above and beyond
to ensure our minds were at ease. The communication from the ladies working in my son’s room and from the nursery managers has always been faultless and nothing is ever too much trouble! We love the use of the app that informs us of our son’s eating, toileting and sleep and the regular snapshots of his learning and progression make us feel we are still a part of his day!
Bluebell Barn is a very special place with a very caring and supportive team! We feel very lucky to be a part of it!

My son loves going to nursery, which makes it so much easier to drop him off and leave him there for a few hours. Our daughter has thrived during her time so far at Bluebell Barn. She started in September and has become familiar and comfortable around all the staff in Blueberries.
We feel she has been highly supported with her development and it is evident when we collect her that she’s had a lovely time there.
Staff
have always been supportive and have given us the confidence that our daughter is in the best care when we are at work, giving us peace of mind.
We sing the praises of Bluebell Barn to all our family and friends and would recommend the nursery to anyone looking - we have one friend who has already booked their son in.

Our daughter is starting school in September and I can’t truly express what a wonderful time she has had at Bluebell Barn and how well it has prepared her for school.


She has blossomed since joining the nursery, always coming home excited to show us the arts and crafts made during the day and to

tell us all about how they’ve grown plants and what she’s learnt about the world around her. She’s been thoroughly entertained and playfully challenged during her time with her wonderful team of teachers and carers and has made so many friends.


As parents, we have experienced excellent communication with both her teachers and the management team; we feel our daughter's experience at Bluebell Barn has been faultless.


Although we’re excited for our daughter to start her new chapter at school, we will be desperately sad to say goodbye to this team who have looked after us almost as much as our little girl.


Thank you for everything you have done for us, we’ll miss you all so very much.

My daughter has been at Bluebell Barn Children's Nursery since she was 1 and is just about to start her next step up to Primary School and we can’t recommend it highly enough. She has always been well cared for and looked after. She’s quite a shy and sensitive child when away from home and all the staff
have been fantastic at building positive relationships with her and us and she is starting to show a more confident side. Their hard work has really prepared her for her next step. You really feel that the staff know your child and to me that’s the most important thing.
As a working family we also love that there’s nothing to worry about, nappies, sun cream, food is all provided and it’s just one less thing to worry about in the mornings!
Our son will start in September and we’re sure that he will have just as brilliant an experience here too. Thank you all.

Bluebell Barn Children's Nursery has been amazing for our daughter. She found it difficult to settle at first due to only attending once a week. This was hard on us all, but the staff went out of their way to help her and make her feel comfortable, offering her extra settle in time. The regular communication
from her keyworker has really reassured me as a nervous parent and the vibe is extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Staff really go out of their way to build positive relationships with parents via the app during the day and a nice debrief of your child’s day on pick up! Our now 16 month old daughter confidently goes into nursery with just a “ta ta” to mummy and daddy. This is due to the time, patience and empathy the staff in Bluebell Barn have all shown her! Such a fantastic nursery! All the staff are amazing, so patient, kind and understanding. Both my children love going, always feel happy and safe and always have the best time! My daughter started at 9 months and we both had a bit of separation anxiety as we'd never really been apart but she settled
so quickly and the staff were amazing! Now have a 3 1/2-year-old and an 18-month-old who both absolutely love going and always come out happy after having a great day!

My little boy has been going to Bluebell Barn Children's Nursery for about 6 months now, and absolutely loves it, never had any tears at the door (so far!). The staff have all been so lovely and know him and us well even with him only going one day a week. The facilities are great, especially the garden!

My son has attended Bluebell Barn from the age of two and has developed and grown so much since being there!
My son was very much an emotional child when he first started at the nursery, but the staff were very quick to give him a cuddle and make him feel safe and welcomed - they were also always so
understanding and welcomed our constant phone calls for our own reassurance!
It’s so lovely having constant updates and photos and reports back via the app - the photos of what he’s been up to throughout his day and his happy little face is great to see.
My son is fed so well when he is at nursery, almost definitely better than he is when at home - the variety and foods they offer the children have improved my son's willingness to try new foods and have encouraged him to eat better at home.
Honestly, Bluebell Barn has been a Godsend - I don’t have to worry about organising anything as they do it all!
Would 100% recommend.

We have had two children go through this wonderful nursery and couldn’t be happier with the care they have both had.
The staff are positive, inclusive, imaginative, and genuinely care about the children they interact with each and every day.
The management is approachable and friendly and runs the
nursery very collaboratively with parents to make sure decisions are open and well informed.
The facilities are peaceful and we love the feeling of being amongst the wildlife, despite its urban placement. So much time and money have been put into redecorating recently and into developing new toys and outdoor apparatus to support the children's development.
The food they have is balanced and varied and I would happily eat their menu every day too if I could!
My youngest is now in his last year and skips happily in every day and always leaves with a big smile on his face - I couldn’t ask for any more.

Absolutely fantastic nursery couldn't recommend more highly. Staff are so caring and attentive and you can see they enjoy and have a passion working with children.

My eldest two children went to Bluebell Barn some years ago and there was never any doubt that my youngest would attend from this year as well. As a mother, it is a somewhat daunting experience finding a nursery to care for your child. We had several local visits booked to scope out the best place for our Daughter. I loved Bluebell Barn so much on our first visit and with my Daughter's first taster session, that I cancelled all other nursery
viewings. I had no doubt this is the place and the people I wanted to care for my child. I have been 100% happy ever since she has started. The staff are so friendly and efficient. They update and communicate with us when needed to and consistently update the parent portal so we can see all the activities she gets up to during the day. Would 100% recommend Bluebell Barn to anyone.

Elle is our amazing Nursery Manager at Bluebell Barn. She started with Bluebell nurseries in September 2013 where she began as an apprentice, Elle worked super hard and achieved her level 3 qualification. In her exciting 7 years of working at Bluebell Barn, she has had the privilege of working across all 3 rooms with all ages between 0-5 years.


Elle has a wonderfully calm professional and bubbly personality that makes her the perfect Nursery teacher and leader.


Having recently been promoted and taken on the role of Nursery Manager, Elle continues her journey of awe and wonder at Bluebell Barn nursery

Hi, I'm Abi. I have worked at Bluebell Barn for almost 5 years now, after completing my Bachelor's degree in 'early childhood studies,' where I gained experience and knowledge in the early years sector. Bluebell Barn has been an amazing place to practice my skills and continue my professional development through my career progression.


I am so pleased to have made wonderful relationships with the staff and the lovely parents and families.


My favourite part of working with children is helping the new children and their families settle into the setting, watching them reach their next steps, and providing a safe, fun, and happy place to grow!


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, doing yoga and reading.

Harriet is our fantastic Operations Manager. Harriet has over 16 years of experience working in the Early Years. Harriet joined the Bluebell family as the Nursery Manager of Bluebell Wood and now as the Operations Manager, Harriet oversees the running of all three of our fabulous nurseries.
