Pennypot Day Nursery, located in Chobham and part of the Childbase Partnership group of nurseries, is registered to offer admission to 116 children whose parents can then enjoy the peace of mind of leaving their child with qualified professionals and in an environment excellent for creativity and learning. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award at distinction level.

Pennypot hold the extracurricular activity of 'Melody Movements' every Friday morning.

Staff look to respect the opinions and concerns of parents at all times, with a friendly service that does not compromise on the high standards of security, health and hygiene that the Childbase Partnership has always prided itself on.

Our daughter joined Pennypot around 3 years ago and has just left to start school. She has loved it from the start and always been happy and genuinely looked forward to going.
We have always felt she is safe and been comfortable leaving her there mostly due to how much the team seem to care and make
an effort with all the children to make them feel special.
There have been a number of events organised by the team - we've not always been able to attend them all but a lot of effort went into the ones we saw.
We were impressed with the special subjects they teach the children, things like Titanic, recycling and the planets - the kids just soak it up and it's just one of the nice things that make the nursery so good.
Outdoor play has always been a big part but the new outdoor space is truly amazing and such a huge investment for the children. We are just sad we only got to use it for a few months. The mud kitchen and spaceship were a stand out favourite!

Our two children attend Pennypot Day Nursery, one in preschool and one in the baby room. I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing staff and the incredible facilities. Our preschooler is going to school with an abundance of confidence having had the most nurturing experience and our baby is so happy
to be greeted by all of the fabulous staff at drop off. No two days are the same and the children are encouraged to be independent and explore so many different activities but at the same time, they have the undivided attention of the staff. Every child is treated as an individual and their unique needs are met. This is our second nursery experience and Childbase is head and shoulders above the other main childcare providers as they genuinely care about their staff. We will miss terribly the interaction and safety net of the preschool teachers when our eldest starts school. We couldn’t have asked for a better settling in and transition period for our incredibly precious boys.

My son attended Pennypot from age one to three and a half. He was so well taken care of.
The staff are so friendly and everyone knows your child regardless of what room they’re in/what stage they are at. You can really tell the staff enjoy their work and love being with the children.
My son would
do such a variety of exercises at nursery - things I never would have thought up at home!

We sent our son to Pennypot Day Nursery, full time, Monday to Friday.
What a fabulous place to explore, learn and grow! What we liked the most was the amount of time the children can have playing outside, free-flow inside-outside, exceptionally clean and tidy rooms and the staff. The staff took such
good care of our son and from day one he settled so well with his dedicated key worker and we felt safe leaving him.
Children's learning and development plans are shared with the parents, photos of your child's day are uploaded regularly online and shared with parents/carers. We feel that the staff and the manager (who knew every child individually) encouraged our son to grow into a confident young person, able to communicate and express his opinions freely.
We highly recommend the nursery and wish everyone at Pennypot all the very best for the future.

Our daughters have both attended this nursery over the last 8 years and they have both really enjoyed it. As a parent, it always brought me great comfort knowing that our girls were being well cared for. Both girls attended from 6 months old and so worked their way up through the nursery, each room
bringing something new and progression, and they were both more than ready for school after their time in the preschool room. We are very grateful to all at Pennypot Chobham and will cherish the memories of our girls time there.

My son was only at Pennypot pre-school for 7 months due to his previous nursery closing down. I wish I had sent him there earlier - the facilities are great and the outside space is amazing. Not to mention the caring staff, they were brilliant and really passionate about caring for the children. The
pre-school team do a lot with the children to get them ready for school - fun activities to help them learn their name and numbers as well as learning about subjects in fun ways. They even had eggs brought in so the children could watch them hatch. And now the chickens are going to stay at the nursery for the children to look after. My son settled in really quickly and he had the most amazing time there. I have been so impressed by the way in which the nursery has run. I highly recommend Pennypot.

My son has been at Pennypot for a little over a year and his development has been amazing. The staff are absolutely lovely and made me feel very comfortable when he first started. He settled very quickly and is always happy to go. I’m very sad he is leaving and moving on. I would thoroughly recommend

This nursery is one of the best around. My daughter has just left for big school but has been with this nursery since she was 8 months old. The staff are friendly and caring. They're organised and always put a smile on your face. As a single mum, it can be scary to leave your child with someone new
but the staff here are the most welcoming so you and your child will be never afraid. If it wasn’t for there wonderful personalities and patience I would have struggled. My daughter had fears of me leaving her but each and every one of them took gentle care and now she’s a different girl. We will miss them dearly. EXCELLENT nursery.

My daughter joined Pennypot in November 2018 once I returned to work after 9 months. I found the whole process of selecting a nursery quite stressful and the thought of leaving her in the arms of a complete stranger gave me sleepless nights. Well, that was until I walked through the door at Pennypot.
This place really is an outstanding nursery and to be honest, I put it all down to the amazing staff. My daughter absolutely loves it here and has thrived in all area's of her development. She always comes home with the biggest smile and I love hearing about what she has been up to via the ParentZone App (which is a lifesaver for those days when leaving them is hard) and from the staff who all play a key part in ensuring she has a fun-filled day (and great home-cooked food). If you are looking for a nursery that puts your mind at rest from all the worries that come along with putting your loved ones into daycare then look no further than Pennypot. We absolutely love it.

Our boy absolutely loves Pennypot. He started off in the Ladybirds room, grew lots of confidence and is now in the Bumblebees room. The staff are very friendly and are fantastic at keeping the children safe and happy. They learn a lot through play and activities - my boy has developed so many skills
that I would not have been able to provide him with at home. Their outdoor facilities are just amazing - one of the best I have seen. I also feel that communication with home is really good - every night I'm given a brief of his entire day and staff are always happy to answer any questions - no matter how silly it might be. I'm also given useful advice and tips regarding his progress if needed. I would recommend Pennypot to anyone!

I have two little boys at Pennypot and I can’t recommend it more highly. It is a wonderful, caring and nurturing environment. Staff always go the extra mile to ensure the children (and parents) in their care are settled and happy and well looked after. The site itself is exciting and interesting for
the kids with new features and play areas constantly being developed. Communication is excellent and management always take a flexible and open minded approach to specific requests.

We speak every day about how lucky we were to come across Pennypot. We know how loved our daughter is there and we are always so happy to drop her off as we know how much love and attention she will receive throughout the day. All of the staff have boundless enthusiasm and kindness for all of the children
and yet no child is given less attention. They have an incredible ability to devote their attention to each child. I have never walked in and felt unwelcome, no matter how busy they are each staff member has a smile on their face and enthusiasm to talk about each child and how their day went. They never make you feel like you're wasting their time and are always keen to reassure you and help where they can - not only with concerns you may have about your child's development for example but also to help where they can to assist you with whatever you are trying to encourage at home -it feels like a partnership in efforts. I need more space to sing their full praises-I had to cut my full review down!!

From the first time I stepped foot in this Nursery I knew this was where I wanted my son to attend. All the staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel so welcome. My son has a massive smile on his face as soon as he sees the reception staff and his room staff it makes it so much easier to leave
him. I love how much they do with the children, every day the room is set up in a different way and I get regular updates of what my son is up to. (Loads of messy bits that means I don't need to do it at home!!) My son has come on so far in his development with the help of his room staff, its amazing to see how much time and dedication this Nursery puts into the children. The place itself has amazing facilities, I love the outdoor space and the variety of toys the children have to play with. I don't think anyone could get bored here!

When my son started at Pennypot nine months ago it was a huge challenge for him (and myself!). All of the staff were incredibly supportive and encouraging, they really made us feel welcome. To our delight, he has settled in brilliantly. One of the things we love about the staff is that there is always
someone to greet us individually when we arrive into the classroom. They immediately interact with my son and encourage him to get involved in any activities. The whole team are enthusiastic, warm and genuinely caring. The newly refurbished outside space is a fantastic addition to the nursery, the children love it and there are so many different things to keep them stimulated. Within the classrooms, children’s individual interests are taken into account and nurtured. We loved Pennypot from the very first visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a day nursery.

My children are incredibly happy at this nursery and are making great progress. I trust the staff to keep them safe and help them to learn new skills that increase their independence. Starting nursery was a very big change for my son which he struggled with to start with but all the staff are so friendly and really helped to welcome him each day with a big cuddle and make him feel safe and happy. He has now settled in nicely and really enjoys his time there.

I have one child in pre-school and one in Bumblebees at Pennypot Nursery Cobham. They are both incredibly settled there and look forward to going in. The ethos is very child-led and practitioners will often restructure or redirect activities around the developing interests of the children. Communication
from practitioners on drop off and collection is excellent and they are very flexible and accommodating. Their key workers are always there to greet them - if they are going to be absent on any day, they always let us know with plenty of notice and another practitioner is ready to meet and greet in their place. The office team are also excellent - emails and calls are responded to promptly and efficiently, and they are always happy, helpful and polite. I trust Pennypot Nursery Cobham completely with the physical, emotional and social development of my children, and I am grateful to have found such a supportive, proactive and nurturing environment.

My son started at Pennypots around 18 months ago after attended another local nursery. We had become quite unhappy with his setting hence the need to look around other nurseries. The minute we stepped into Pennypots we could see it was a lovely, nurturing environment for the children. The staff genuinely
care for the children and my son is very fond of them all. My son is starting school this September and is also a September born baby and he continues to learn every day. We have no concern that he may be getting bored (being one of the oldest). The range of activities he does at the nursery keeps him interested and enhance his learning every day. We have been so impressed with the nursery that we will be sad to be leaving this summer.

I have two children currently at Pennypot Nursery and they have both absolutely loved it there from day one. They moved there from another nursery when we moved house and we could not be happier that we chose Pennypot - the staff are all extremely friendly and caring making it a lovely environment for
our children to be in. I love the outdoor space that the children have access to and that they spend so much time outdoors. They are also really focused on the children's development, which we have been very pleased with. In summary, we are extremely happy with Pennypot and could not recommend it more highly.

Our son attended this nursery and we were more than pleased with his learning and experience. Everyone is caring and kind. As soon as our daughter was born she was placed on the waiting list. We discovered our daughter had additional needs. The team have been outstanding in their support of us throughout
this challenging time. The level of care, support and love they shown us and our daughter has been overwhelming. Our daughter has progressed in leaps and bounds. We would highly recommend this nursery to any parent and especially those with kids with additional needs.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2001

Carol is Manager of the award-winning Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the Early Years sector for 23 years. Carol has numerous qualifications, including a BA(Hons) Degree in Childcare & Education and Early Years Professional Status. In May 2022, Carol celebrates her 21st anniversary at Childbase Partnership.


What is your favourite feature of Pennypot?
I have many especially the large outdoor environment and fantastic rural location, as well as my amazing team.


What are you most proud of about your team?
Their passion and determination to constantly strive to improve outcomes for our children. We also have many long-serving staff members which is amazing.
