Bright Horizons Caterham Burntwood Lane Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery itself is a beautifully refurbished, purpose-built building all on one level, split into four age groups. Each room is equipped with high quality, age-appropriate resources and the children have immediate access to a large outdoor space.

The nursery has an amazing garden that even has its own LED-lit adventure fort. There’s so much exploring to look forward to each day: an amazing climbing frame, reading dens, a cycle area and a planting area which the children help care for to learn about the world around them.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The nursery also provides nutritious and delicious meals, prepared by a dedicated on-site chef.

The setting is conveniently located next to Stafford Sports Centre, close to the M25 and 15 minutes' walk from Whyteleafe rail station, with on-site parking available.

I was so nervous to leave my child at a nursery, but I could not be happier that I was able to get him into Bright Horizons Burntwood Lane. He has been there since January 2024 and I find the staff so friendly, relaxed and feel like they genuinely enjoy looking after the children. I love the outdoor
space for the children to play in and feel so confident leaving my child there. Would 100% recommend!

Our 2-year-old son is excited to go into Nursery telling us who he is going to play with. It was a tough start settling him in but with his amazing key worker and other members of staff he now asks to go in over the weekend.

I am and have been so happy with my son attending Bright Horizons Burntwood Lane nursery.
He always loves going to preschool and has made great friends and connections with his teachers.
The activities keep the children engaged and focused. My son comes home and tells us all about his day (which I
can see documented via the app or social media page).
When my son had some dietary adjustments the nursery adapted to his needs without fuss and was documented on the app.
The gardens are fantastic with so much safe space for the children to explore and learn.
I am sad that his journey at the nursery is coming to an end but he is more than ready for school with the help from his preschool teachers and staff all round.
All staff have been amazing with us as a family throughout the years and I am so grateful for them all!
Both of my children have attended Bright Horizons nurseries and I am so glad they did!

My son changed nurseries in September 2023 and has blossomed ever since. We are very pleased about the bond he has created with the teachers and the level of communication. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. He has also learned a lot and has met some great friends he loves to talk about.

Such a great nursery. The staff are so caring with the children and very enthusiastic about their job. The outdoor space is fantastic and the children have so much space to explore and learn. My child is so happy here and I am grateful.

My two children attend this nursery and preschool and both love it. This is mainly due to the wonderful staff, who are always caring and friendly. The variety of food served is great. My son loves this nursery and has such a connection with all the staff! My son is autistic and is non-verbal, but he has always continued to be included in everything they do. They support with his speech and language and do great one on one learning with him. The nursery manager is beyond amazing,
without her we wouldn’t be where we are today with my son getting the support he needs going into school with a full EHCP. I will forever be grateful to her and everything she has done for us over the years.

Bright Horizons Bright Horizons Caterham Burntwood Lane Day Nursery and Preschool has been the best place for my daughter over the last 2 years. She loves going in each day and has thrived with the caring, fun loving, and conscientious staff. They are also excellent on health, and spotted when she had
breathing difficulties and supported us as she took on inhalers. I know she is 100% safe and happy in the days she is there. The staff always give little anecdotes at pick up that give us insight into our daughter's day and have lots of time for parents. They also make the effort to celebrate milestones and events with a prep bag to help adjust to new siblings and personalised birthday cards as examples. The outdoor space is excellent in summer and the kids are out as much as possible learning nature as well as enjoying the play equipment. It's a great place generally but the staff (the core team of which are very consistently present) create an atmosphere that stands out for me.

My daughter has been attending Burntwood Lane Nursery since October 2022. We recently moved to the area and all I can say is that this nursery is amazing. I have been as impressed with the management team, as with all the teaching assistants. The management team are helpful and friendly and provides
you with all the information. They are flexible and I have generally always been able to get extra days at short notice if I have an emergency. All teachers and support staff are friendly and really care about the children. My daughter, who was very shy and reserved in her last nursery has totally come out of her shell. She looks forward to going to see her teachers and friends and never wants to leave! I'm lucky if I get a kiss goodbye and a wave as she rushes off to see her friends and teacher, when I drop her off.

Bright Horizons is a brilliant nursery. I have had two of my children attend over the years. My youngest is currently attending. The staff are great. They put in every effort and care whilst looking after your child. They go above and beyond to be professional, attentive and nurturing. Activities, food
and hygiene I would rate all five stars as well. Thank you so much, to the team for always making sure my daughter is happy and looked after.

Our daughter has been going to preschool here since September 2022. It was really important for us to find the best suited nursery as we were moving her from where we previously lived. The transition was made so easy for her as Bright Horizons offered an amazing number of settle sessions. She has since
been doing amazingly at preschool and has learnt so much. Two great nursery managers, great communication and very friendly, making you feel instantly welcomed. All the staff that work there are so lovely, they know all the children's names, even if not working in the same room! The preschool staff are great ladies, really care for our daughter, amazing communication and have learnt to really read her and advocate so well for the kids. I feel that this Bright Horizons really is our child's home from home. So glad we chose here. I think it's the best stepping stone for children before they start primary school!

Our son started at Burntwood Lane Nursery a few months ago in preschool class after previously attending another nursery and we've been really pleased as to how well he's settled in and the progress he's making, which is down to the hard work of the team in his room. They, along with all the staff have
created a friendly, happy environment so he's always excited to go in. The information about his day you get from the app and the range of activities they do with him is great to see. Would highly recommend the place to anyone in the area!

An amazing, helpful and fun nursery. Previously my daughter attended a different nursery which she hated and left her terrified of going each week. However, since we moved her she has totally changed and after just one week of being at Bright Horizons, she started to love going again. She loves all
the staff and is so happy. The staff are so friendly and really supportive of her and us as parents, so I would highly recommend it to anyone looking.

This is my first experience of a nursery with my first child. They have all made the process so easy and natural. I cannot praise them enough. My son loves his time at nursery and he's always smiling when I drop him off and pick him up. The app is a great way to check how he's getting on. So pleased

Very poor management of the nursery.
Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice choosing Bright Horizon Caterham. They claim to support and offer flexibility, this is certainly not the case on so many occasions. Poor management of staff. Very disappointing indeed.

We are extremely pleased with the care our son receives at Bright Horizons, Burntwood Lane. The manager and her team, go over and above to ensure the safety and happiness of the children. Having a baby during the lockdown, naturally made it harder for him to settle, but the team ensured the whole process
went as smoothly as possible. We can see a tremendous advancement in our son's skills and eating habits since attending the nursery, which is a result of the wide variety of activities and menu. We couldn’t recommend the nursery and staff, more highly!

I’d highly recommend Burntwood Lane Bright Horizons. My daughter has been there for around 2 years now and we’re so pleased with what a polite, confident, funny girl she is turning into - I’ve no doubt that is helped by all the fun activities she gets up to at nursery, and the great atmosphere that
has been created there at Burntwood Lane. It’s down to the hard work they all put in to give the children a fun experience every day they go. My daughter loves all the staff there and enjoys nursery whenever she goes. The last couple of years has been brilliant for her at Burntwood Lane thanks to her key workers, and all of the others that interact with her.
The varied fresh food she gets given is fantastic and it’s great to know she’ll have 3 good meals each day she’s there. The new app is brilliant to keep a track of what she’s been doing during her day, seeing the photos they can share on it, any naps and what and how much food she’s eaten.

Bright Horizons Caterham Burntwood Lane Day Nursery and Preschool is a wonderful setting. Our daughter has attended Burntwood Lane for nearly three years and she loves it. The level of care she receives is second to none. Staff are kind and attentive and a huge asset to nursery/preschool. The environment
- especially the outdoor space - is clean and fun. There is an impressive variety of food on the daily/weekly/monthly menu. Extra educational activities such as visits from the Fire Brigade and Dentist, are organised for the children. There are so many great aspects to the nursery and preschool. For our family, Burntwood has been, and always will be, a special place.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2016

Gizem is the Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Caterham, Burntwood Lane and has been part of the setting since 2016. She began her journey as an unqualified Nursery Assistant and, through dedication and continuous growth, progressed to her current leadership role.


Throughout her career, Gizem has embraced a wide range of professional development opportunities, including completing her Early Years qualification, a Level 2 certificate in Understanding Autism, and coaching training. She is currently studying for a Level 5 Bachelor's degree in Early Years, further enhancing her leadership and pedagogical skills.


Her passion for early years education shines through in her daily work. Gizem is proud to lead a committed, hardworking team and finds great reward in witnessing their impact, most notably through the joy and smiles of the children in their care.

Sophie has been a valued member of Bright Horizons for over three and a half years. She began her career as an unqualified Nursery Assistant and, through hard work, dedication and a passion for early years education, has progressed to the role of Deputy Manager.


Throughout her time at Bright Horizons, Sophie has developed strong relationships with both children and families, gaining experience across all age groups.
