Very pleased with the overall level of care. Very afraid that standards will slip with the merger. We speak from experience. The food is ok but I am disappointed to see the same version of fish stew repeated each month, which none of the kids like. Also, pastries for tea? She comes home hungry these days. Otherwise, fine. I would like to see more cooking with the children going on. Outside space is fabulous.

Overall we like the facility. My son loved it here and had a great friendship group. This wasn't our experience with our other son. He took longer to settle down and make friends. We felt sometimes he struggled here. Although, saying this, he has settled down now. The staff are good and informative and very willing to help and listen. The only concern we have is the cost. It does somewhat tarnish the value for money aspect.

Our son started at Caterham Day Nursery in December and we have had a wholly positive experience. The staff are wonderful and look after the children as if they were their own. Our son loves going to nursery. The food provided for the little ones is excellent - made on site, and plenty of variety. The children get plenty of opportunities to play outside and do lots of different activities throughout the day. I was mainly concerned about how our son would nap there as he has not been the best sleeper - but the staff have been willing to accommodate his needs and he naps really well there.

We moved here from another nursery and have been very happy since. Our daughter looks forward to nursery every morning and talks about it frequently. The staff are friendly and generally very welcoming with the children which is what you want for a 2-year-old. Our daughter has built a good rapport with some of the 'teachers' and enjoys her time at nursery. The nursery has great outside facilities for play and a good open space inside.

I am so happy with my choice of nursery for my son. He is very happy to go and always seems to enjoy his time there. Staff are attentive, energetic and enthusiastic. I always get accurate updates as to his activities and am confident that he is well cared for when there.

Unfortunately, in the last 12 months, we have seen a decrease in the level of care and service at the nursery. The new management do not come across as caring and seem unresponsive to parents requests. There has been a large level of turnover which seems to be associated with the new management. When moving to preschool at 3 years old we were told that children are expected to go to the toilet by themselves and they are not accommodating of a transition period. They also expect children to drop their naps during the day altogether. Level of hygiene seems to have gone down as when I pick up my boy he is really dirty even around his mouth which can be dangerous. Having said this his key worker is great and when she is around she definitely cares and looks after him.

Overall Experience
My daughter has been at the nursery since 18 months when we moved to the area, and has now turned 3 and in the pre-school room. After looking at quite a few local nurseries we found Asquith Caterham to be the best in the area as it was clean, child-centric, has excellent outdoor facilities, with friendly and approachable staff and an excellent healthy and diverse menu.

My daughter loves going to the nursery in the mornings and has made some excellent bonds with her key-workers and the other children. Since the nursery manager has started in 2014 we have also enjoyed getting books out at the 'nursery library', watching the fish in the garden, cooking in the mud kitchen and watching all of the sunflowers (planted by the children) grow throughout the summer. They are always thinking of new activities for the children to do.

My daughter also requires a specialist menu, and the staff have been excellent in ensuring that she has a healthy meal, that she doesn't miss out but that her food is safe for her to eat.

I would highly recommend this nursery and pre-school.
