Child First Banbury Nursery

My daughter has been attending the setting since she was 9 months old and I believe the nursery to be a very positive, caring environment for her. They made the transition for her (and me!) very smooth and easy with constant updates and reassurance it made the difficult process of me going back to work better than it could have been. Her confidence has significantly grown since she started and she has learnt a lot of new skills. The setting is very spacious and clean and they change the rooms around with new activities for children fairly regularly. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the children attending even if they don't work directly with the. The office staff are always welcoming and make time totally if you have any concerns or queries both in person and email, communication is very good. The food is cooked fresh daily and my daughter has been more adventurous with trying new things since starting there. Although the overall care is good and recent ofsted report was deemed it (expected standard). I don't think it is very overpriced (I would expect and ofted rating of "exceptional") for what they charge.

My boy has been at Child First in Banbury since September 2025 and has thrived since in the new year he moved under Maddie's care in the sweetpeas rooms and loves it. He's made lots of new friends, always talks about the staff and is getting so much better at drop offs in the morning.

Sweetpea's room and staff are always helpful and reassuring. They provide useful information at handovers and are able to answer questions when we have them.

Lovely nursery. Kind & caring staff. My daughter has been attending since she was 1. She is now nearly 4. She loves nursery, the staff & her made some friends. All senior staff are wonderful & make the nursery a safe place for you to leave your kids with they do activities for lots of religious & non religious events which allows children to understand diversity.

My daughter is one year old and started attending Child First 3 months ago. At first I was anxious about how she would adjust, but she settled in faster than I thought. The staff are incredibly supportive, patient and re assuring, especially during those early days when I called often to check on her. I'm so impressed with how much she's developed. She is learning so much every day. The team is incredibly encouraging and nurturing, she loves going there every day. Highly recommend!

My son currently attends classes here part time, he totally loves it! He enjoys play time with Jasmine and Mike, same every time he comes home he tells me all about it. All the teachers encourage him to have his lunch and he always finishes it which I'm happy about. We love Child First!

We have had a very positive experience at the nursery. Jasmin especially has made an important and lasting impression as she has made extraordinary efforts to support our son. The staff in general have been excellent and really important for our son's development. This is particularly impressive as funding is difficult in an organisation within childcare.

Both of my daughters have been flourishing since joining Child First in September. They're both more talkative, confident and active. Christmas was especially lovely as it was evident how much they'd learnt about the festive season. They always return home happy and full of nice stories and exercises.

Overall a lovely nursery, has improved after last year with members of staff leaving, but they seem to be back on there feet & my child loves preschool. She is always excited to tell me about her day & activities she has done.

Child First have provided a great level of childcare for both our children. The last year has been more challenging for them, with a lot of staff changes, but this has settled and they continue to provide an excellent environment, especially in the pre-school. Many thanks to all the pre-school staff, who have exceptionally big shoes to fill!

Overall the experience last 6 months ahs been good, knowledgeable staff on everday eating, activities & sleep at handover alot better. Good that my child know her key worker & enjoy going to nursery. She has good close bonds with staff & children in nursery. Overall alot better & happy with the staff & environment & teaching she has got in sweetpeas. Enjoy the observation & the portal.

Both of my girls have flourished in the care of Child First Banbury. Their development has exceeded our expectations and I can't wait to see what they turn into. Maddy & Laura are caring, creative and brilliant key workers to our kids and we can't imagine them anywhere else.

My daughter has attended Child First since she was one and she has thrived. I have been amazed by how much she has learned from developing her speech, learning about the world and increasing her confidence. She has loved being in bluebells & sweetpeas, playing with Jennifer & Maddie, especially singing along and most days giving my daughter Disney hairstyles. All workers have been fantastic and caring and I can't wait to see how my daughter progresses as she joins preschool.

Mike is a very loving and caring towards Luna - Luna is always coming home saying how nice she is and how fun. Thank you Mike.

We've actually had over 4 years with Child First across both our kids but most recently with our youngest. We love the nursery, both of our boys have been sohappy here in their time (and we were so sad when it came time for our eldest to leave). The staff are so caring (genuinely) and we've always felt our boys were being well looked after.

Our daughter has learned so many skills in sweetpeas and we have seen such a leap in her counting skills, her social skills and ability to read and write. She looks forward every day to seeing her friends and tells us such wonderful tales each day of all the activities she got up to. We know she is well cared for by staff because she tells us how well Maddy cares for her, how fun Jennifer is to play with.

Maddie and her team care deeply for the children and have tireless enthusiasm looking after them. Both of my sons have really valued having the Child First team as an extension of their family & their first steps towards education.

Really supportive key worker always looking at fun ways to develop and explore. Noticed a real improvement to handovers, all the relevant information provided without needing to take a long time at the end of the day. Had more photos and observations of activities through the day. Would always take more if possible! Overall really good and noticed personalities of children allowed to come through and be themselves.

Isaac always loves coming into Sweetpeas in the mornings. He is happy here and the staff are always caring and attentive.
