Bright Horizons Longfield Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Never forgetting that the nursery is ‘for the children’ it is important that the children are consulted and given hands-on involvement on a day-to-day basis. They understand that a successful nursery is built on the experience of motivated, happy staff and realise the importance of their development.

The outdoor space has been developed around the children’s learning and physical exercise. This garden includes climbing frames, a dedicated baby space, forest school area and a cycling track.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

My daughter has a great bond with her key worker and some other adults in her room. She has recently become a big sister and preschool have helped with this transition and supporting her emotionally. She regularly comes home and shows us new skills that she has learned, such as using scissors, threading
laces, using a knife, making cards etc. Preschool have also encouraged my daughter to learn about new topics and when she goes into preschool to tell them a new fact, her key worker actively spends time researching this with her.

This is the only nursery I have felt comfortable leaving my children with. Facilities and staff are really lovely. They genuinely care for the little ones. There are a few nurseries in the area but they just don’t compare.

My son transferred to Bright Horizons Longfield Day Nursery and Preschool from another nursery as a three-year-old and within a month of the move, we could not believe the difference in him. Previous to joining his speech was limited, he would struggle to speak which would lead to frustration and upset
for him which was made more difficult for him then being unable to express his needs. Since joining Bright Horizons his speech, his emotional regulation, his comfort and confidence have grown enormously. He has created some wonderful relationships with staff. Staff have worked with us on his SEN pathway and have been a godsend for his school transition support. My son has allergies and his every need has been catered for with a wide variety, balanced diet. He loves the activities, and adores the garden and outdoor play. We cannot thank the staff enough for the progress he has made and the love and care he received.

As a first time parent the process of finding a nursery was a daunting one. How do you know it's the right nursery for your child? How do you know your child will enjoy it? I needn't have worried! From the very first settling in session all the staff at the nursery have made this process so easy and
they have been very reassuring. As well as knowing my child is safe, the huge grin on their face and outstretched arms when I drop them off to their key worker tells me that they are very happy here. I couldn't have picked a better nursery.

My daughter started nursery in January 2023 after many settling-in sessions. She has flourished so much, thanks to the hard work of her key person and the staff within her room. She enjoys all the food provided and I love seeing the photos of what she has done in the day and playing with her friends.
Every drop off they all ask how she is and say hello and every pick up I am informed of her day, her sleeping and how she has been, generally. I also check the app which tells me everything from how much food she eats to when her nappy has been changed. I would highly recommend Longfield Nursery to all friends and family.

My son has a great time while at nursery and loves doing all the activities and projects they have planned. One staff member is fantastic with him and makes it a very fun environment to be at.

Overall, our experience of the nursery has been good. The majority of the staff provide consistently good care for the little ones and you can tell they are in it for their love of the children. The key people for our girls when they’ve been in the baby and nursery room have been particularly exceptional
and have formed strong relationships with them. There’s also some staff who move around the rooms who make a big difference to their days and take the time to sit and interact with the children to craft and play. My little one always goes in and comes out with a smile on her face and that’s what matters.

I was very worried sending my daughter to nursery after 15 months staying home with me, but just after the first two rough weeks, she started to enjoy going in the nursery. She is quite a shy baby, however, her confidence has grown a lot. This is all thanks to the dedication and care of the nursery
staff, especially her key person. Her key person built a very strong bond with my daughter and helped her a lot with her development. She always took time to provide observations and updated me on the activities my daughter did at nursery and her progress. I am happy that I have found a good nursery for my daughter to learn and be herself.

My child started at the nursery in February, the initial settling into the nursery was smooth and at my child’s pace. Not only the key person assigned but other members of staff in the room went above and beyond to settle my child and accommodate his needs. Prior to starting I felt reassured my child
was in safe and knowledgeable hands as having additional medical problems, they ensured the appropriate support was put in place alongside the help of the management/Senco team. I want to shout out to the kitchen team as they have worked alongside myself and the room to ensure my child’s dietary needs are accommodated for providing fresh, nutritious and varied food throughout the day. Now my child has been at the nursery for a month I love being able to access the learning app throughout the day to see what engaging activities he’s being offered during his day and love the photos and crafts he brings home. I always know he’s been a busy boy as we get a good night's sleep after a fun day!

This is an incredible nursery, with staff that are so attentive, mature, happy and knowledgeable. With a strong leadership team, Senco and staff that are so positive, it makes for a lovely experience for the kids. The space is purpose-built for the kids with accessible ramps, a lovely, safe outdoor
space and fantastic room layout. The team hosts lots of opportunities to come in and meet the room staff and see your little one in the space, which has been lovely. We pulled our child out of another local nursery and the experience coming here is two worlds apart. I can't believe how poor the care is elsewhere in comparison. The Bright Horizons, Longfield team, are just the best!

My daughter loves nursery. The staff are all kind and friendly but also teach good manners and safe play. My daughter has made some many friends and feels really comfortable there. My Grandson has attended the nursery since May and thoroughly enjoys his time there. He is happy to wave me goodbye when he enters the nursery. Every member of the team I have met when dropping or collecting have been friendly and welcoming. Communication is very good and you are advised what has been
happening during that day and what the child has enjoyed, eaten and achieved in the session. The children’s safety, especially during Covid has obviously been paramount which is very reassuring.

Our daughter started at Longfield nursery in the middle of the pandemic. The nursery has always been supportive and very transparent with regards to Covid regulations. My daughter absolutely loves attending nursery and has made lots of friends. The staff are supportive and positive and our daughter
has made close bonds with the staff in her room. She often talks about the staff at home. The activities that our daughter tells us about always sound very engaging and we believe she has progressed well during her time at the nursery. We will be sad to see her leave, but believe they have fully prepared her for school life!

Our daughter loves the nursery and has been there since she was nine months old and is now three and a half. There is a very low turnover of staff which I think is really important so that strong bonds can be formed with staff, who are all lovely. I have recommended the nursery to friends of mine.

The team go above and beyond in supporting my daughter's development. She has a speech delay which is now improving and that's because of the practice and consistency she gets at nursery, focusing on lots of vocabulary, songs and rhymes. The team's approach is always positive with lots of suggestions
on how to continue the learning and progress at home. This applies to speech and language, behaviour and even potty training!

My son loves nursery. He has bonded well with his key person in all of his rooms. They are all so caring and informative about the day's activities. Great variety of meals. Makes him try new things he wouldn’t usually have at home. His favourite activity is to play in the sandpit with the dinosaurs.

My son has been attending the nursery for over a year now and absolutely loves it! He is just over 2.5 years old now and on days where he is not at nursery asks when he is next going. He skips in eager to see his friends and play and equally leaves very happy after having a great day! I never worry
he is miserable or not being cared for properly and he develops so much week after week with all the creative learning he does. I love the fact that he is educated across various religions/cultures and helps his classmates celebrate their special days.


I appreciate the daily notes on his day that I get written from his key worker which I keep and I feel I am kept involved on any bumps or grazes he inevitably encounters playing.


The nursery has a lovely outdoor area and I also like the fact it is located in a cul de sac away from busy roads.


I’m looking forward to sending our daughter to Longfield when I return to work in July.

I am extremely satisfied with their services. All 3 of my kids have attended this nursery and I cannot stress how happy I am with the staff. My daughter literally cries to go there on her days off. They have not fallen short of their high standards and I cannot thank them enough.

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was 9 months old and I have always felt that she is in the safest of hands. She is currently in pre-school and I believe that her key people are preparing her brilliantly for school. Despite her experiencing speech delay, she has been supported to the point
where she is now at the expected speech range for her age. I’ve felt lucky to have her at this nursery.

I cannot recommend Bright Horizons Longfield more. My child has attended since 10 months old to which I was quite anxious as I did not want my child to attend that early. However, my child adores the staff and is so excited to go to learn and play. The menu is varied and healthy taking into consideration
any preferences. My child had a number of health issues and the nursery has always been accommodating and helpful.

Donna

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Donna began her career in the early years sector and has grown over the years through various roles. This progression has given her the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and understanding of the different areas within an early years setting. She has completed her NVQ Levels 2, 3, and 4 in Early Years Care and Education, along with a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management. Her passion for career progression drives her to support her team’s knowledge and self-development.


Donna has been with Bright Horizons since 2012. As a Nursery Manager, she believes that children are at the heart of everything the team does. By supporting and empowering the team, she helps to create enabling environments where all children can thrive—offering them opportunities to explore and engage in a wide range of play-based activities.


In addition to her professional role, Donna is a mother of three boys. Her youngest has attended the nursery setting, giving her valuable insight into nursery life from a parent’s perspective. This experience has deepened her understanding of the importance of ensuring that parents feel confident and reassured that their children are in a safe, secure environment where they can learn and grow.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2006

Julie joined Bright Horizons in September 2006. She holds a Level 4 qualification in childcare and is a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. Julie has a strong passion for creating environments that spark children's curiosity, awe, and wonder. She particularly enjoys working in outdoor learning spaces and believes that these experiences are fundamental to children's development.


Julie's son attended the nursery from the age of five months, which allowed her to maintain a positive work-life balance. This personal experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges parents face when returning to work and helps her empathise with their needs during this transition.


She recognises the vital importance of the first five years of a child’s life and values the critical role that the nursery and its staff play in supporting each child’s early development.
