Tops Day Nursery in Newport, Isle of Wight, is a friendly and active nursery based at the Isle of Wight College and is open to all. The team of staff offers happy, nurturing care for the hours parents need. The nursery offers flexible hours and parents can book to the nearest 15 minutes, to allow them more choice over childcare.

This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

The staff provide a safe and stimulating environment for children from three-months-old until they reach school age. They also run a Mini Beasts club over the school holidays for four- to seven-year-olds. The nursery is open from 6am to 8pm, subject to demand.

Tops Day Nurseries has a number of extracurricular activities such as Tops Cooking School, Tops Forest School, meditation, yoga, Rugby Rangers, Boogie Mites, tooth brushing and much more.

Tops Newport can offer up o 30 hours funding which is available for two-, three- and four-year-olds.

While each child is at Tops Newport, families are always welcome to call as often as they like to discuss their child's progress and day at nursery.

Important information such as sleep times, nappy changes and milk and food intake is recorded by staff and included in a daily report on EYLOG.

The nursery group has a no-added sugar menu in all its nurseries, offering children a nutritional, healthy diet early in their lives.

Both my sons have been lucky enough to go to Tops Isle of Wight. My son was fully prepared for school when he left in 2018 and my youngest son is currently in the beautiful and homely baby room!
I wouldn’t want to have my boys anywhere else, despite being slightly more expensive than other nurseries
around I feel all that the nursery offers make this worth the extra cost.
The staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome, no matter the time of day! There are always beautiful and new activities for the children to take part in and the rooms are inviting for the children to find their own play as well as having plenty of organised activities for them to take part in!
I highly recommend Top’s Isle of Wight as a modern and forthcoming nursery that cares about the environment our children are growing up in.

I can't recommend this nursery enough. My daughter moved from a different nursery and settled in immediately. The staff are very kind and caring and my daughter loves them. I know she's in safe hands and it's so clean compared to other nurseries, it's very well maintained.

My little girl started in September and has come on so much already, thanks to all the staff at tops. We have seen such a change in her. She always looks forward to going to playgroup, seeing her friends and the staff. All the staff are so welcoming and so interactive with the children, with such a
range of planned fun activities. We're so happy we choose Tops Day Nursery for our daughter.

My daughter started at Tops when she was 8 months old and leaves for school in September. She has had an amazing time since day one! All the staff have provided amazing care with an enriching environment for her to grow and develop. I would 100% recommend the nursery to anyone!

My son has just started at Tops nursery. All the staff and managers do an amazing job and I cannot thank them enough for helping my son to settle in from day 1. Although it is early days for him adjusting to a new routine, I feel fully at ease that he is well looked after and enjoys his time there.
It is lovely to get photos and updates of what he gets up to during his day. I would 100% recommended this nursery to anyone. Keep up all your amazing work!

My little girl loves attending Tops and the staff are faultless. Highly recommend. I don't ever feel guilty or sad when I leave her here as she's just so happy! Staff are very informative about your child's day when you collect them which is lovely.

I could not recommend Tops Newport: Isle of Wight enough. My son has attended nursery since he was 10 months old and is due to leave this summer for school. I would recommend Tops Newport to anyone and have always felt my son was/is in safe hands whilst I am at work. 5 stars from me!

Highly recommend Tops Newport. My son loves his time here, always happy at drop off and pick up times. Staff are friendly and helpful. Regular updates on daily activities and developments. Good range of outdoor and indoor activities. They are very accommodating as we are shift workers, with flexible
hours with long opening hours. They also do 50% off last minute hours which are handy for getting the chores done!

Absolutely amazing nursery. They go above and beyond to accommodate my child, who loves spending time there.
Super friendly, helpful staff who really have the children’s best interests at heart and the fantastic activities put on every day are really brilliant.
The option of 50% off hours and the
massively flexible opening hours are really helpful.


I would definitely wholeheartedly recommend this nursery.

Staff are always friendly, kind and understanding. The rooms which my daughter has been in always have lots of different activities which are changed almost daily, and the staff always seem to be interacting with the children and really seem to care. You get daily updates via an app on what your child
has done, plus any extra observations.
I will continue to recommend Tops and can't wait for my youngest to start!

I am more than impressed of this nursery. My little girl who is in pre-school loves coming to school every day. Very clean nursery, very friendly, supportive and accommodating staff, very good sized rooms and beautiful play area in the garden. Great on-line reports and impressive activities for the
kids ie meditation and yoga. I am happy with the teacher-child ratio. My girl loves the staffs pink uniform. The monthly fee that we pay is definitely worth it.I have in fact recommended this nursery to another friend and she is as impressed as I am. Keep it up Tops Day Nursery - Newport.

I have been extremely happy with the care my little one gets at Tops. I wasn't looking to put him in a nursery when I returned to work but due to certain reasons (being let down by a childminder) it was my only option if I'm honest!
I really cannot fault them at all, they are always welcoming to us
and really do make my little ones time their fun and I know he is well cared for. It really is a home from home environment but with more things to explore.

My little boy has been to this nursery since age 3 months whilst I was studying at the college. I took him out of this nursery through no fault of the nursery because a different nursery was closer to where I lived and was easier for me. I was really unhappy with the nursery I sent him to & Tops welcomed
him back after being taken out for 6 months. He then returned at 2 and a half & has been there since and he's now 4. They are very good at catering for your needs & working around your lifestyle. The staff are very friendly & are amazing at what they do. The activities & learning is brilliant. My child has learnt so much and absolutely loves going to Tops Day Nursery in Newport Isle of Wight. Along with the forest school they do my little one loved it which is great to get them outdoors.Their outside space is also very big with lots to do. The manager will go above and beyond. They really are truly helpful with anything you ask. I would highly recommend.

This is an outstanding nursery. I cannot fault a thing and I have been using the nursery since my son was 12m old (1yr 2m ago). The staff are attentive and caring and seem genuinely interested in the children as individuals. We have experienced some complex family issues during the time we have used
the nursery and this has all been dealt with, with professionalism and sensitivity. My son loves going and happily waves bye bye as we leave him.

Tops Day Nursery is the only place I would send my child. She has been attending since she was 11 months old and now returns for Mini Beasts. The staff are like a second family, and have always treated my daughter very well. She loves attending and misses the children and staff when she has to go back
to school. The mini beasts always offer fun and exciting things to do, and I am so glad that we are still able to send her back in school holidays. The hours are flexible and as mentioned the staff are second to none.

My little girl is in the pre-school room and she absolutely loves it, and so do I. The staff are very welcoming and trusting. They build unique bonds with each child and this truly shows each time I drop off, pick up and attend their plays. All the staff are very helpful and will go out of their way
to make your child feel safe and happy. I wouldn't send my little girl anywhere else, as Tops are the best start before big school. Thank you!
