The staff at Toad Hall are excellent. Our son settled in really well and really quickly. We were quite nervous, given the circumstances over the last year, he had very little interaction with other adults and children but it all went smoothly and our fears were quickly allayed. The facilities are great,
our son has lots of fun playing in the garden. We are moving away from the area and are really quite sad to be leaving as we can see that our son really enjoys his time at Toad Hall.

My son started in September 2020 and has really settled well. He talks about his day very fondly, as well as about his teachers and class mates. He also loves to sing the songs he has learnt at the nursery. Very supporting and diligent staff overall.

Toad Hall is a really fantastic place. The staff are kind and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My son adores his time there, and I am so grateful to the staff for taking such good care of him.

I can’t rate Toad Hall Watford highly enough. My son joined just before the first lockdown in March 2020. I have been extremely impressed with the high safety standards that Toad Hall have maintained after re-opening, and as a result of these high standards, my son has not had to isolate at all over
the past year.


Coupled with this are staff that do genuinely care and are clearly passionate about children and providing an excellent level of care. My son is always very happy when he is dropped off in the mornings and is always smiling at the end of the day when I pick him up. My eldest son attended a different early year setting, and the experience at Toad Hall is far superior.

The manager and the team go over and above for both children and parents at Toadhall Watford. I have always felt confident that my son was safe and happy, due to constant communication, and the fact he comes out every day with a huge smile on his face. I feel so thankful we found a nursery that supports
my sons learning, emotional needs and life skills. Nothing is ever a problem if I need to change food options or help with toilet training. I would highly recommend anyone to trust sending their little ones. It is such a huge decision and responsibility, but my decision to send him was the best decision I made for him!

Toad Hall Watford has been an amazing setting for our daughter. She has been there since she was about 13-months-old, she is now over two. From the beginning, the staff have been friendly, warm and so nurturing in a genuine way, which was so important when leaving my firstborn with someone. They have
always been more than happy to work with me regarding feeding, potty training etc, and the staff are always smiling and enthusiastic. The management is fab, and you can see the staff and them gel so well, which gives the whole nursery a very friendly and cohesive feel. They go out of their way to provide new activities for the children and keep us updated with them. Halloween, Xmas etc, are so lovely for the kids, and they go the extra mile to make these times special and to include festivals from different faiths. This is a genuinely nurturing and fun setting for kids, and my second will definitely be going here too.

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Toad Hall Watford - they have been absolutely brilliant throughout this pandemic, and my daughter has never had to miss a day of nursery, unlike her brother whose nursery that's attached to a state primary school is still closed due to
"operational issues". Thank you for working so hard to give children the routine and consistency they need. My daughter has been at Toad Hall since August 2020. All the staff I've spoken to are lovely and seem to genuinely enjoy working with little kids. She always comes home happy and enjoys the varied activities at nursery, especially arts and craft. The garden at Toad Hall is very spacious and has lots of age-appropriate equipment and toys for the kids. My son also attended Toad Hall for a month in August 2020, before he started school nursery, and he absolutely loved his time there. Overall, we could not be happier with our choice!

My son absolutely loves this place, he loves the teachers and all the team that is in! At this nursery he learn so many new things, and we are so proud of all the teachers realisations. Toad Hall is fantastic. Our son joined in June 2020 from another nursery, and we are so pleased we moved his nursery setting.
All staff are friendly, and the outside area is fantastic!
My son is so happy now he is at Toad Hall, and we can’t thank the staff enough for helping to settle in.

We viewed Toad Hall on recommendations from friends and have been delighted. Having worked as a supplier in nurseries previously, I knew what I was looking for and Toad Hall has not been found lacking. Any email, worry (all parents worry!) or conversation has always been addressed promptly. Their communication
with parents is excellent. The children enjoy different topics and resources, free access to a number of activities, toys and role play as well as a wonderful garden. They clearly sing lots as we are hearing lots of new songs from her at home. My daughter loves going to nursery, is enjoying learning, her friends and the food! She adores her key worker and is disappointed she can’t attend Toad Hall every day!

My little boy started at Toad Hall Watford when he was three months old. The staff and management team made me feel so at ease leaving him at such a young age. He settled so well and the bond between him and his key worker was just amazing. He has now moved up to the butterflies room at 15 months and
again has settled so quickly and the staff are so loving. He loves food and eats everything. I get great feedback from staff even during these unprecedented times, when I cant enter the nursery, I know exactly what he has been up to. The management have handled the current pandemic so well and have made it feel like home from home for the children. Keep up the good work Hempstead Road, we can't wait to continue our journey with you.

What a lovely nursery. I needed a nursery place at very short notice and Toad Hall was fantastic and fitted us in and sorted everything really quick.
I was apprehensive sending my 14month old but the staff were so reassuring and if I wanted to speak to anyone by phone in the day for an update I could
call any time which was lovely.
They clearly care deeply for all the children. I’d often arrive to see a member of staff having a mountain of children on her lap or having cuddles. They were all a great team.
The outdoor play space is great too and the new air conditioning a brilliant add-on. The food was varied but if I’m honest I feel that this could maybe be improved on as the teachers didn’t seem too convinced it was tasty! Saying that my boy ate all his food and then some more!!
Highly recommend here.

It truly is the nursery that you dream of for your child! The staff are all warm, fun and super professional. They care for the children as if they were their own. The nursery itself is in a lovely new building on 2 floors. It is very spacious, bright and cosy at the same time. They have their own beautiful
garden with lots of great things to do. Overall the nursery, I feel, is superb with exactly the right balance between engaging the little minds, building confidence and desire to explore while at the same time preparing them for the next step.

My daughter was in Toad Hall for about 3 years, and the staff are lovely and assisted my daughter in her development.
The nursery settings and facilities are excellent and there are a lot of positives about the nursery. Their management and policies are a bit rigid though especially around how the
free funded hours are allocated.

My son went to this nursery at 12 months and settled in very well. The staff even helped us as parents get used to dropping him off in the beginning! They were so friendly, kind and welcoming to us all. I was never in doubt that our son was cared for and well looked after. Staff showed genuine enthusiasm
for him, ensuring he settled in well and was happy there. I also feel that he had plenty of learning experiences and that they were monitoring the progress he was making.
Staff were knowledgeable, caring, enthusiastic and kind and also talked of their priority being to keep the children safe, which is what any parent wants to hear. They are a lovely team! Thank you all.

Our daughter attended Toad Hall for two years and we have been delighted with how happy she is there and how easy it was for her to settle. My name is Sam Penn and I have been working in childcare since 2007 I hold a Level 3 in Childcare and Education Qualification. I am very passionate about childcare and my role. Every day is different and brings new challenges and experiences for myself and the children in my care.


I consider it to be essential that myself and my team work in partnership with you, as the parent or carer of your child. We hope that we can demonstrate our vision and approach to childcare by welcoming you to our nursery.
