We are delighted with our experience at Toad Hall. Our first child was there for 3 years and our second child is in her second year there now.
The staff are amazing and build excellent relationships with the children. We are able to see real progress in language and communication skills as well as
physical development.
The manager and another particular member of staff are a great management team and do an excellent job of keeping us informed and maintaining a fun environment for the kids.

Our daughter has absolutely thrived at Toad Hall Nursery. We love the regular use of outdoor play and cannot believe how much our daughter has developed since she started attending. She is so supported by the members of staff at the nursery and they clearly have her best interests at heart. Her “room”
has great facilities and a little area of soft play too which she has great fun playing on with the other children.

My daughter started in Feb when she was around 19 months! She had an emotional start as she was really attached to me - having stayed with me at home full-time since she was born. The girls have been so amazing with her, she's slowly but surely building such a good relationship with them all. Every
time I see them they are so kind, caring and attentive and it just reassures me that she is getting the best possible start to her little schooling life! She has improved her eating habits massively, and rarely refuses foods anymore and tries foods that she usually refuses at home. She is always up to new activities including messy play/garden play - it's so lovely to see her do activities that make her happy at home with family! Thank you again to the most wholesome team at Toad Hall Watford.

Excellent nursery! My daughter loves it there. She has been going since she was 1 and is now almost 3. The staff really make an effort with her and her development and I’ve always felt like they were invested in her wellbeing. She has had times where she has been clingy when dropping off and they do
their best to distract her and keep her happy. Couldn’t really ask for more!

Both of our kids (3 and 1) attend Toad Hall Watford and we've had a very good experience.


Our eldest in particular has grown some great bonds with the staff and he also has a lovely group of friends. My wife and I have also made several friends amongst the children's parents.


Communication is

mostly via email, but it's fairly easy to keep up to date on events and activities.

My son has been attending Toad Hall Watford since June 2021 when he was 15 months old, to now (he's nearly 3 and a half). This has been an amazing nursery where he has been really happy, grown a lot, learned a lot, and made friends (we have too). The staff are very caring and very cheerful, but also
committed to teaching kids how to be good to each other. My son has developed incredible bonds with his key workers and carers. I was really anxious about potty training but they were really supportive about that, and he's a much less fussy eater at nursery than at home! The organisation is really well run, communications are very good. The space is really thoughtfully laid out, with lots of running-around space in the big garden and activity areas in the rooms. You can tell that the kids are happy, and there are lots of very experienced and longstanding staff around which is a sign of a well-run place. My son has also learned a lot there. Would recommend to anyone!

My son has improved so much in this nursery and the staff are so good and caring. They make sure my son's needs are met. He is so happy here and loves it. My daughter has been at the nursery for 2.5 years. It's been a really pleasant experience for her and for us as parents. She formed really nice bond with staff and we felt at ease while she was there because we knew she is well looked after.
Obviously she had a favourite person, thank you for all the
love you give to the children. Thank you to one member of staff in particular for flexibility, for always being there for us. Thank you to another member of staff for preparing the food. And for the rest of you all, thank you for being part of my daughter's journey!

My son has been at the nursery since September 2021. From when he had the first accommodation said he was very happy and he enjoyed being at the nursery. Our 3rd child is now attending Toad Hall Nursery. We are very happy with the level of care she receives.
The staff are always welcoming, kind and caring. Our daughter runs in every morning excited to be there. It's a great joy to see her so eager.
The rooms are tidy, clean and calm, set up with a
number of activities for the day.
She learns a lot, there is clear communication between my daughter and the staff, and regular circle time and chats in the nursery help her to safely and calmly understand the world around her.
The large garden is used often, staff regularly tell me the kids have spent all day outside.
Staff are consistent, we still see the same faces from our time at the nursery 9 years ago. The staff greet my other children with the same enthusiasm as my daughter. They genuinely care and are so friendly every single day.
The nursery has been a wonderful, calm and very helpful part of our lives for so long, we'll definitely miss it when it is finally time to move on!

My little one has been going to the Toad Hall Nursery, Watford for over a year now and the moment she walks in, you can tell how comfortable and at home she feels. The staff here are amazing and I say that not just based on my personal experience with my own child, but also because I have seen the staff
comforting and assuring children with love and care. It is so difficult to identify the key member associated with a child because each child is comfortable with every individual staff member of the room - which is amazing! The children are always happy and chirpy at the nursery and I cannot thank the staff enough for taking such great care of my little one.

I love the nursery setting at Toad Hall Watfird. The menu is outstanding, and thanks to the chef, I am at ease knowing my child has eaten a well-balanced diet. I am very happy with the extra activities, which have been well throughout to introduce the children to sports, languages and much more

My daughter started with Toad Hall Nursery Watford in August 2022. She started off in the baby room but as an early walker, the staff worked with us to ensure she then transitioned to the next room up securing a bond with a new key worker. In this time, my daughter has had some challenging times with
illness and resettling after an absence but every time this happened, the staff at Toad Hall went over and beyond to support her (and us). She loves attending the nursery and talks so fondly of the staff and children. I am so glad her journey started here with Toad Hall Nursery.

Fantastic Nursery, My daughter loves it here, and you really see her develop each day. She learns so much and enjoys playing with all of her friends, and the staff really look after her and make a fuss over all the kids. All the staff take time to get to know the children even if they are not in their
particular room to create a lovely family atmosphere. She is well fed, the menus are really good for little ones.

The best nursery ever. My son started there at the age of two, and I was stressed that he would not settle in there, but he did, and he likes it there very much. The staff are lovely and understanding; it is such a shame that from September, we will be starting reception, and he will not be attending
here anymore. This nursery was the best choice I could make for my son. They have so many great activities throughout the day. Overall I will highly recommend this nursery to anyone, as I always do.

My name is Sam Penn and I have been working in childcare since 2007 I hold a Level 3 in Childcare and Education Qualification. I am very passionate about childcare and my role. Every day is different and brings new challenges and experiences for myself and the children in my care.


I consider it to be essential that myself and my team work in partnership with you, as the parent or carer of your child. We hope that we can demonstrate our vision and approach to childcare by welcoming you to our nursery.
