I've been taking my son to Toad Hall since he was six months old and he settled into nursery so quickly and happily, it made dropping off and returning to work a lot easier. The staff here really take lots of interest in getting to know you as a parent and also your child by working alongside you. Every
day you get to speak to your child keyworker and find out how their day has gone. My son is in the baby room, Hedgehogs and I loved the fact they get to mix with the class above every morning so they get used to interacting with different aged children. They offer lots of stay-and-plays for parents, which is always a nice way to meet other parents in the same class and also to see how your child gets on in the nursery setting. I would be lost without Toad Hall and all the wonderful staff that make it such a fun and happy environment for all the children to learn.

Our son has been at Toad Hall from age one. He's currently three and will be there until school. We've been super happy with Toad Hall. The staff are extremely welcoming and give us full confidence he will have a fun and enjoyable day. The staff have been supportive of his development and encouraging
him to be independent. He loves the weekly Spanish and sports classes. Would highly recommend it.

Toadhall is a lovely nursery. My son started at the age of one and attended until he went to school and my daughter has just started. The staff are lovely, the classrooms are bright and friendly and the garden is amazing. My son always enjoyed going and the staff did an amazing job getting him ready
for school so I had no hesitation in also sending my daughter.
Only downside was the communication I.e. knowing what was going on in the nursery and when and whether we needed to send them dressed in something specific but that has massively improved recently e.g. with the regular newsletter etc

Very pleased with the overall standard of nursery and care given. My son has finished his first year in Little Toads, he really enjoyed his time there. His key worker was very informative, caring and supportive to his needs. He's now in Badgers and seems to have settled in great, staff once again are
brilliant. The garden in the nursery is great for the children with lots of activities and messy play. I especially like the vegetable patch, I think it's great for children to grow and eat their own vegetables. The SENCO is great and made me feel reassured and that my son's needs will be thought through and catered for. Management team are great and also very knowledgeable and supportive. I would recommend this nursery to anyone with small children. Thanks to all members of staff at Toad Hall Nursery Watford.

My daughter has been at Toad Hall for the last 12 months. She loves attending and can't wait to go in. The staff are lovely, you can see they really care about the children. I have noticed that my daughters development has come along a lot since she has been there. She has become very confident and
the staff have supported her through several different room moves as her development has progressed. The office team are always very helpful and quick to come back on questions and queries.

My daughter graduated from the nursery today following almost 3 years there. The staff and setting has always been welcoming and I always felt my child was safe and well cared for. Over the years the management have supported us in so many ways in order to ensure our child is happy, healthy and developing
both academically and emotionally. I can’t praise the nursery and all its staff enough. We will miss you but hope we’ll be able to enrol our youngest there soon!

Our one-year-old daughter loves Toad Hall and it’s been so reassuring returning to work, knowing that she’s so well cared for. Every day we get an update with her activities, food she’s eaten and how much she’s slept. There’s a great range of messy play, free-flow into the garden and indoor activities.
It’s really fun to see what’s she’s picked up from her first steps to amazing dance moves, plus food she loves but still won’t eat at home! The staff are all lovely and she settled in very quickly. I’d highly recommend the nursery if you are looking!

I could not recommend this nursery enough. My son attended for two years and is now sadly leaving for school. All of the staff are amazing and so friendly. I knew my son was so well cared for every time I dropped him off. The nursery itself and garden are so well equipped and very well looked after.

My daughter loves Toad Hall, she’s been going for 18 months now, 5 days a week. The staff are so friendly she loves each of them. They’re so attentive and it really feels like they have great one to one relationships with each child. She’s learned so much being there, every day she comes home with new
days, words, songs, it’s great to see hear what she’s been learning and she loves showing off new yoga poses or songs or games that she’s learned. She gets 3 meals a day and when she was in nappies and had bottles, these were all provided too. She’s never not wanted to go in or said she’s not had a good day.

A fantastic nursery, great facilities, friendly and knowledgable staff, excellent communication between management and parents and just an all-round pleasant experience to use them. Freshly cooked meals and daily updates on our son's activities, what he ate, and what he enjoyed they even got him to
try a lot of things we still can't get him to eat. I really like that the management team and staff make an effort for Mothers day, Easter, Fathers day etc putting on welcome breakfast or little gifts for the parents to enjoy during drop off. Our son loved going there so much he has more than once asked on the weekend when he was going back so he could get ready early. I also believe they went above on beyond during COVID which was commendable.

My daughter started nursery in Feb 2021. At the time she was 15 months old and we saw that she settled within 2-3 weeks. The staff are very friendly and caring. My little one enjoys all the activities the team does and the sensory play planned was brilliant. We have seen her learn and be independent
over the last 6 months and would highly recommend the nursery.

My 1-year-old girl has been going to Toad Hall Nursery since January 2021. Throughout the difficult and strange times of Covid, the Staff at Toad Hall Nursery have been working incredibly hard to keep the kids, staff and parents as safe as can be. The communication of updating the policies and safety
regulations have been outstanding. You are automatically updated regularly and consistently. As a mother working in the educational sector, I understand the harsh implementations the nursery is being held at by Ofsted and to achieve the grade 'Good' consistently is very admirable. This is definitively noticeable in the children. My daughter has made leaps and bounds development-wise since attending the Nursery. Each day the parent is given a brief rundown of:
-child activities
-food eaten/amount
-sleep
- toilet routines
On top of all this, the staff are friendly, educated and welcoming. The food served to the kids is freshly cooked and shows a large variety of different fruit and vegetables.

My son has been at Toad Hall since he was 10 months - he's now nearly 4! He's very happy there and has made some good bonds with the other children and the staff. It's been a difficult time through covid, but the staff have been brilliant at adapting and keeping safe. I would certainly recommend those

Toad Hall nursery have been fantastic with my first child and I’ll be sending my second there too. The staff are kind, friendly and approachable. They have worked hard to reassure me as a first time mum and to also help my little one settle. He now walks in to nursery always smiling and happy.

Toad Hall is an excellent nursery. My daughter has been there since 5 months old (now nearly 3 years old). A lot of this period has been during COVID19. The team have been fantastic at reassuring parents that our children are in a safe environment. The nursery focusses on the individual child’s needs

I have been sending my daughter to Toad Hall Nursery-Watford for 10 months. It's a great school, and my daughter never cries when I leave, instead, she turned around and said "Bye" to me, happily. I couldn't imagine a better preschool for her. As a parent, I've seen many improvements and my child has
learned so much since enrolling here. The staff answered all my questions, and they also felt free to answer any questions I had later. It is one of the top schools in town, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great education at an affordable price. If I had 10 stars to give, I would! A big thanks to everyone in the nursery.

The Toad Hall family are truly dedicated to the development and care of my twin daughters. Not only are they encouraged to be themselves, but they are also challenged to reach their full potential in a diverse and inclusive setting. The team are evidently talented within their roles, as my children
demonstrate their new found abilities and skills. My children adore their “teachers”and look forward to being in their company and within the environment. As a “fussy” parent, my expectations are managed and I am consistently kept informed of my children’s progression and areas of development, through daily report slips, regular 1:1 conversations, emails, news letters and parent engagement events. I am also encouraged to engage with the twin’s learning and continue themes/focuses, with the provision of simple resources: this proved very helpful during COVID-19 lockdowns. I would recommend this establishment for prospective parents who appreciate quality and care whilst learning.

My name is Sam Penn and I have been working in childcare since 2007 I hold a Level 3 in Childcare and Education Qualification. I am very passionate about childcare and my role. Every day is different and brings new challenges and experiences for myself and the children in my care.


I consider it to be essential that myself and my team work in partnership with you, as the parent or carer of your child. We hope that we can demonstrate our vision and approach to childcare by welcoming you to our nursery.
