My daughter started with Toad Hall Nursery Watford in August 2022. She started off in the baby room but as an early walker, the staff worked with us to ensure she then transitioned to the next room up securing a bond with a new key worker. In this time, my daughter has had some challenging times with illness and resettling after an absence but every time this happened, the staff at Toad Hall went over and beyond to support her (and us). She loves attending the nursery and talks so fondly of the staff and children. I am so glad her journey started here with Toad Hall Nursery.
Fantastic Nursery, My daughter loves it here, and you really see her develop each day. She learns so much and enjoys playing with all of her friends, and the staff really look after her and make a fuss over all the kids. All the staff take time to get to know the children even if they are not in their particular room to create a lovely family atmosphere. She is well fed, the menus are really good for little ones.
The best nursery ever. My son started there at the age of two, and I was stressed that he would not settle in there, but he did, and he likes it there very much. The staff are lovely and understanding; it is such a shame that from September, we will be starting reception, and he will not be attending here anymore. This nursery was the best choice I could make for my son. They have so many great activities throughout the day. Overall I will highly recommend this nursery to anyone, as I always do.
I've been taking my son to Toad Hall since he was six months old and he settled into nursery so quickly and happily, it made dropping off and returning to work a lot easier. The staff here really take lots of interest in getting to know you as a parent and also your child by working alongside you. Every day you get to speak to your child keyworker and find out how their day has gone. My son is in the baby room, Hedgehogs and I loved the fact they get to mix with the class above every morning so they get used to interacting with different aged children. They offer lots of stay-and-plays for parents, which is always a nice way to meet other parents in the same class and also to see how your child gets on in the nursery setting. I would be lost without Toad Hall and all the wonderful staff that make it such a fun and happy environment for all the children to learn.
Our son has been at Toad Hall from age one. He's currently three and will be there until school. We've been super happy with Toad Hall. The staff are extremely welcoming and give us full confidence he will have a fun and enjoyable day. The staff have been supportive of his development and encouraging him to be independent. He loves the weekly Spanish and sports classes. Would highly recommend it.
Only downside was the communication I.e. knowing what was going on in the nursery and when and whether we needed to send them dressed in something specific but that has massively improved recently e.g. with the regular newsletter etc
Very pleased with the overall standard of nursery and care given. My son has finished his first year in Little Toads, he really enjoyed his time there. His key worker was very informative, caring and supportive to his needs. He's now in Badgers and seems to have settled in great, staff once again are brilliant. The garden in the nursery is great for the children with lots of activities and messy play. I especially like the vegetable patch, I think it's great for children to grow and eat their own vegetables. The SENCO is great and made me feel reassured and that my son's needs will be thought through and catered for. Management team are great and also very knowledgeable and supportive. I would recommend this nursery to anyone with small children. Thanks to all members of staff at Toad Hall Nursery Watford.
My daughter has been at Toad Hall for the last 12 months. She loves attending and can't wait to go in. The staff are lovely, you can see they really care about the children. I have noticed that my daughters development has come along a lot since she has been there. She has become very confident and the staff have supported her through several different room moves as her development has progressed. The office team are always very helpful and quick to come back on questions and queries.
We are very happy with the overall standard of the nursery. The nursery has plenty of space indoors and outdoors for the kids to play around. My boy has certainly developed social skills, independence and learning with the help of amazing carers. Will definitely recommend it to others.
My daughter graduated from the nursery today following almost 3 years there. The staff and setting has always been welcoming and I always felt my child was safe and well cared for. Over the years the management have supported us in so many ways in order to ensure our child is happy, healthy and developing both academically and emotionally. I can’t praise the nursery and all its staff enough. We will miss you but hope we’ll be able to enrol our youngest there soon!
Such a great nursery. The staff are all lovely, fantastic facilities and the standard of teaching is excellent. Thank you for looking after my daughter. Best place to get children to grow.
Our one-year-old daughter loves Toad Hall and it’s been so reassuring returning to work, knowing that she’s so well cared for. Every day we get an update with her activities, food she’s eaten and how much she’s slept. There’s a great range of messy play, free-flow into the garden and indoor activities. It’s really fun to see what’s she’s picked up from her first steps to amazing dance moves, plus food she loves but still won’t eat at home! The staff are all lovely and she settled in very quickly. I’d highly recommend the nursery if you are looking!
I could not recommend this nursery enough. My son attended for two years and is now sadly leaving for school. All of the staff are amazing and so friendly. I knew my son was so well cared for every time I dropped him off. The nursery itself and garden are so well equipped and very well looked after. Five-star care.
My daughter loves Toad Hall, she’s been going for 18 months now, 5 days a week. The staff are so friendly she loves each of them. They’re so attentive and it really feels like they have great one to one relationships with each child. She’s learned so much being there, every day she comes home with new days, words, songs, it’s great to see hear what she’s been learning and she loves showing off new yoga poses or songs or games that she’s learned. She gets 3 meals a day and when she was in nappies and had bottles, these were all provided too. She’s never not wanted to go in or said she’s not had a good day.
My son has loved his time at Toad Hall Nursery Watford. The staff are kind, caring and fun. They put a huge amount of effort into creating a nurturing environment for the children to play and learn - even through the pandemic they have worked hard to make sure the parents are connected to daily life in the nursery and give clear, helpful updates on my son'sn progress. Plus they have the most wonderful garden!
A fantastic nursery, great facilities, friendly and knowledgable staff, excellent communication between management and parents and just an all-round pleasant experience to use them. Freshly cooked meals and daily updates on our son's activities, what he ate, and what he enjoyed they even got him to try a lot of things we still can't get him to eat. I really like that the management team and staff make an effort for Mothers day, Easter, Fathers day etc putting on welcome breakfast or little gifts for the parents to enjoy during drop off. Our son loved going there so much he has more than once asked on the weekend when he was going back so he could get ready early. I also believe they went above on beyond during COVID which was commendable.
Thanks to the entire team.

On top of all this, the staff are friendly, educated and welcoming. The food served to the kids is freshly cooked and shows a large variety of different fruit and vegetables.
My son has been at Toad Hall since he was 10 months - he's now nearly 4! He's very happy there and has made some good bonds with the other children and the staff. It's been a difficult time through covid, but the staff have been brilliant at adapting and keeping safe. I would certainly recommend those considering a nursery place in Watford to visit Toad Hall.
Toad Hall nursery have been fantastic with my first child and I’ll be sending my second there too. The staff are kind, friendly and approachable. They have worked hard to reassure me as a first time mum and to also help my little one settle. He now walks in to nursery always smiling and happy.
