The location and facilities are great. I'd love to see more farm-to-fork initiatives, but understand the issues with not having a kitchen, etc.
We honestly couldn’t be happier with choosing Grasshoppers as our daughter’s nursery. She has been with them for a year now and has learnt so much and her confidence has really grown too! The staff are absolutely fabulous and they come up with new fun things for the children to do every day. Our daughter absolutely loves it! Thank you everyone at Grasshoppers!
Children participate in a range of activities designed to support their development, this is done through both structured and unstructured play. They support the development of independence skills through things such as children getting their own placemats, serving themselves breakfast and clearing up afterwards.
The premises are clean and well-presented.
Our son has attended Grasshoppers for over a year and in that time we have had a wonderful experience. The entire team are dedicated and works well together to deliver excellence. They always take time to provide feedback at the end of each day. Our son is really happy there and we have no hesitation in recommending the nursery to others.
Absolutely fantastic nursery, staff go above and beyond, communication has been excellent and we get regular updates on the app, with pictures and learning stories throughout the week. They are constantly looking at ways to improve and having just gone in today my daughter noticed the room had been moved around. Activities are well thought out and my daughters enjoyed the visit from the fire engine recently. I would highly recommend this nursery.
Our daughter has attended Grasshoppers Day Nursery since September 2022, beginning in Caterpillars before moving up to Bumblebees, and she absolutely loves it. It’s great to see her going in with a smile on her face in the morning, and seeing her so happy and settled when collecting her at the end of the day. The facilities for the children are brilliant, including lots of opportunities to spend time outdoors in the garden which we know our daughter really enjoys. We have been very impressed with all aspects of the nursery’s care and communication, it’s great to get regular updates via the app and e-newsletter. The team always take the time to tell us about our daughter’s day and answer any questions we may have. Parents are kept informed about the week’s learning activities and given the chance to get involved with them from home. One of the most important things about the nursery, for us, is the very caring and loving atmosphere that the staff have created for the children.
Our daughter has been attending the Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans) since November 2022 and our experience has been extremely positive. Settling was made easy thanks to the amazing, caring staff in the Bumblebees room and I cannot thank them enough. They took the time to learn about my child’s preferences, routines and even some words in Portuguese (our second language) to better understand and communicate with her. They go above and beyond every day and as parents, we feel we couldn’t have chosen a better nursery for our child. The facilities are spacious, clean, bright and well-maintained. The space outside is huge and there are loads of activities. The curriculum is well-designed, creative, age-appropriate and stimulating - I love seeing the pictures of my daughter playing and learning in the app. Also, the staff is always available to answer my questions and keep me informed about my child’s progress and new learnings. I highly recommend the St Albans Grasshoppers Nursery to any parents.
We're grateful to all of the staff and, in particular, those who look after our daughter daily in the bumblebees room. They're fantastic and she always has a lot (for a two-year-old) to say about all of them in the evenings.
I have a child who is two years and nine months, she is in the preschool room, and the staff are all welcoming in the morning, and I know she will be happy when leaving her, even if she gets upset as I leave, they will contact me to let me know that she has calmed down. She is always happy at the end of the day when I pick her up and will tell me about the things that she had done.
All 3 of our children have now attended Grasshoppers; while one recently graduated from pre-school to join her sister at school, the last one has started in the baby room. Each of them has thrived in this setting. Close friendships have been made; they've loved attending; in particular, the renovated garden has been a big hit. Over the years, staff have been very accommodating with our needs and we highly recommend them. You're always greeted with a smile, the team are caring and friendly, plus, there are significantly clear structures/policies in place including their communications with parents.
I highly, highly recommend Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans). They were very supportive for the two years that my daughter was there. She absolutely loved it and made some amazing friends there. We were always happy about her nutrition, despite having allergies, and always felt like she was supported by the staff. Her key worker I couldn't praise more, she really helped my daughter feel at home and was very warm and friendly. We were sorry to say goodbye to all the staff when she moved on to reception. We started in another nursery and made the difficult decision to move her because we weren't happy. So we have seen both sides and were glad to have found grasshoppers.
Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans) is a wonderful nursery. My son really enjoyed going here and loved pre-school. The team are always friendly and approachable and always happy to help with questions and let us know about new developments and activities our son has been taking part in. The food is great and it meant our son tried a huge variety of flavours which has helped with what he eats at home.
Lovely nursery with very caring staff. Well structured around letting children explore and play with a range of toys. Staff is flexible and very accommodating with special requests (e.g. diet etc). Good size outdoor play area and well resourced.
We have had a really positive experience with both children at Grasshoppers. Settling was made easy through the care and experience of the staff. Activities offered are wide-ranging and engaging for all ages. Any issues and the staff are quick to help. Overall a great place for children to learn and grow.
My daughter has been at the nursery for six months and absolutely loves it. She's developed so much and look forward to her continuing to do so. The staff are all friendly and happy to help, they go above and beyond to ensure that they provide activities and books etc. that my daughter is interested in. Would definitely recommend it to prospective parents.
My son has been attending Grasshoppers for the past month and to see him build a strong relationship with his key workers is so heartwarming. He has in a short time grown in confidence, started to become independent and his speech is developing in the right direction, all of which I credit the nursery for. The staff at the nursery are, professional, responsive, great sense of humour, friendly, warm, kind and patient. Always have a warm smile to greet you in the morning! I look forward to seeing my son develop in their care. I would highly recommend Grasshoppers.
The management and staff are all brilliant; engaged and invested in the individual characters of the children and celebrate their individuality. There has also been a lot of continuity in management and staff.
Communication has always been very good and our children come home every day having had a great time! We (as parents) have been well supported by Grasshoppers Day Nursery who have been flexible with childcare when needed and have also taken time to discuss or observe and feedback on the odd language or behavioural concern we’ve had.
Overall can’t thank Grasshoppers enough for everything they’ve done for us and our children
All the staff at Grasshoppers are so friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond in supporting my son with his needs emotionally and physically. I would 100% recommend this nursery to all my friends and family.
I'm pleased with the progression my son has made whilst attending Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans). The support my son receives from the nursery is great, they always go above and beyond to make sure he is on track with his learning.
We loved sending our daughter to Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans). The staff are all so wonderful and we loved the great variety of activities they do with the children everyday. We are a same sex couple and we were always treated the same as other parents and even got two Mothers days gifts for Mothers day which we thought was a really nice touch. We also found the nursery to be very understanding and supportive during the lockdowns and accommodating to us, I kept having to shield and therefore had to keep pulling our daughter out of nursery and they staff were very supportive of this. We left the nursery with a very heavy heart due to moving to a different area but we couldn't be happier with the nursery and the love and care they gave to our child.
